Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. There is no end date to the current promotion...I bet the next big sale is Memorial Day...

  2. I'm already bored of all these floral dresses. And rayon? To me it never looks good after it's washed.

    1. Agreed - and in today's email ("Floral dresses for EVERY occasion") the models in the first pic are wearing their hair in a greasy half top knot, the same way I wear mine when washing my face at night.

    2. When my girls used to work at sleepaway camp or before a vacation I remember going to Burlington Coat factory to buy rayon pull-on shorts that came in similar floral prints. They cost about $6 and I felt like if they lasted a few wears that was all I could expect. Basically disposable clothing.

  3. Waiting for a good promo that includes Point Sur. I have a couple items I’d like to try in case I end up liking it.

  4. I have no beef with a nice floral print summer dress. Except....when it's rayon, too short in length, immature or too youthful and just boring. Something I would see at Old Navy or some other inexpensive store. I could easily purchase multiples of these dresses at my local thrift stores for dirt cheap. I hope the Crew comes out with some sophisticated floral dresses. I would like a maxi style with classic lines...no goofy one armed things or a need for some weird special bra. Something NORMAL.

  6. I stopped by on Saturday for returns, and the floral dresses are absolutely front and center. I've already let my VPS know my disappointment that they're not cotton and they're Mercantile. The store was hopping, thanks to the free flowers with purchase Mother's Days event. Didn't see a single person looking at the floral dresses though - looked like most people were buying from the sales section despite total lack of promo, or they were buying things to monogram.

  7. I just returned from my beach vacation and this was the first time in years that I looked to other retailers to purchase items for my trip. J crew used to be the one stop shop for clothes, swim, shoes and accessories for me. My suitcase had all crew swimsuits as I do not wear them often and they last me forever but I had to search elsewhere for other items. I got some casual dresses at Old navy. Shorts and jeans from BR and BR factory and a maxi dress and skirt from Tommy Bahama. It really was nice to have a one stop shop. Hunting for one or two good items at several retailers is a pain. I really wish the crew would get back on track but I am really liking less and less. I think their marketing really has changed and I just am not their core customer any more.

    1. JessF, I loved that “one stop shop” aspect of the old Crew, too. It simplified my life and the colors matched. I am starting to accept that there has to be life after Crew and am finding things at other retailers - Boden, BR, Ralph Lauren - but it’s more work and time.

I never really appreciated that buying almost one of everything and shopping 99% exclusively at. Crew in the olden days made managing my closet and getting dressed much easier.

  8. yah, despite all my complaining I miss the old J. Crew. Even the Crew from a year ago when it seemed doomed was alot more appealing to what I see now. Of course, I still have hopes to find a couple of things here and there.

    2. I think the clothes that we have now are Somsacks designs before he left the company. J.Crew designs a year before releasing the products. For me I'm actually tired of classic with a twist idea because J.Crew did too many twist that it isn't practical anymore. Lets go back to classic J.Crew!
