  1. I love my JC and Madewell sweater jackets and sweater coats and am glad that it's finally getting cool enough to break them out!

    2. I am loving the factory sweater blazer too. I have the retail merino one and the factory version and like them equally. I had to wash my factory one recently because a server spilled a drinks tray on me (ha), and it washed great, still looks new.

    3. @silver_lining Which Madewell Sweater-coats do you have? They have quite a few and I'm trying to decide which one to try. I'm also curious if you've washed the ones you have and how they've held up? TIA

    4. Hi maryeb! The MW sweater-coat I have is an oldie (the camel/black houndstooth one from a few falls ago) but still looks amazing. It's 100% merino and so thick I haven't washed it because I fear it will never dry! I Dryel it every year, give the arms a quick shave with the sweater shaver, and store it with cedar balls in the pockets.

I think that cate would probably be able to speak to the more recent Madewell sweater coats - I know she mentioned trying the Camden. IMO, if you stay with the 100% merino options you should be fine. I passed on a lot of them in the past because of the dropped shoulders.

    5. Thanks for the helpful info @silver_lining. MW has several nice looking merino wool options.

  2. Today I am wearing the JC stripe turtleneck sweater dress in black saddle and I couldn't be more in love with a garment. It is finally cold enough for me to wear it and it is the most comfortable & soft dress. Paired with suede tall black boots and earrings - just an easy go to outfit that will I will be reaching for many times this fall & winter!

  3. Love both of the new t-shirts I've got from JC recently, TresChicc and printed roses. They are made out of thicker cotton, fit true to size and perfect in every way.

    1. Natalya, cheers for the review. I'm drawn to the feminine rose print tee, and am happy to hear the cotton is substantial. It sounds worth a try.

  4. I also love waffle long sleeved shirts that I've got for my boys. I wish JC made similar long sleeve tee for adults. Seems like perfect shirt to wear around the house or on the Autumn hike or even while running errands.

  6. Interesting, all of the New Balance x J Crew stuff is now showing up as a category on the Factory site. Mistake or are they moving it over there? Or selling the same merch at both?

    1. Hi Heather - that IS odd. From what I can tell, they kept the newer NB stuff (like Drake's print) on the retail site but moved most of it to Factory and cut prices quite a bit. I wonder if they'll actually start to use Factory more for retail overflow.

  7. Even though I am purchasing less this fall, I love what I have gotten so far. I grabbed some shoes during that 50% off sale in September. Totally love that and wish they would do that again. My favorite clothing piece so far has been the camo foundry pants. I just posted those pieces and looks over on my Instagram @shoppingcelle

  8. I visited West Vancouver store today.large sign applied to the window says The Clearance Event" further orange signage in sale section but no additional% off. Not sure where this is heading - a weekend promo on languishing sale? Summer ots and ruffle trims.

    1. considering how much more we pay up here in Canada...you would think they should really slash prices further...

  9. I went to my local strip mall to run an errand right next to J Crew. For the first time, I didn't feel compelled to go in, so I didn't. I felt like I wasn't missing anything if I didn't go. I'm not going to lie, I feel a bit sad.
