J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. Hi. Not a review, but a question.

    Can anyone speak to the durability of the lucite heels on shoe style F5959 (called very matter of factly "lucite heels in suede"). I have a pair coming my way but am second guessing my purchase. I am concerned that the heels could scratch easily. For example, I have a rolling chair at work, and I sometimes brush the back of my shoe against the wheels result in some scrapes. This happens occasionally with leather wrapped heels. You can sometimes hide scraps to heather with shoe polish, but that wouldn't be possible with lucite. How resistant is the lucite to nicks? And once you get nicks, how visible are they? Thank you.

    1. I have them in black suede and love them, but I've only worn them a few times and never driving, so I can't accurately answer your question.

  2. Re-posting from Friday's thread if you missed it...I stopped in Friday and tried on some items from the latest mini rollout.

    I tried on the rainbow gingham skirt, one shoulder ruffle top in stripe, button back stripe peplum top, tie shirting stripe skirt and drapey ruffle cami (loved this), lavender tie shoulder eyelet top, dot sequin Jackie set and a beautiful embroidered orange dress that I can't find online. I am in pretty good shape with summer stuff but I did like a few items, including the dress which I am still thinking about!

    Blog post is here

    Trying to take a break since the month of June was a total fail with not making summer purchases. But I think I'm in good shape now. The black and Liberty floral tie waist shorts and white denim shorts have been go to items for me as well as this year's denim skirt.

  3. I have received a couple of orders, both retail and factory, and still have a few on the way. Trying to round out my maternity wardobe. Front retail - an emerald green tippi I won't be able to wear now but couldn't pass up for cheap. Navy lace up flats that will be easy on swollen feet come fall. From factory - schoolboy blazer that is super nice! Won't button right now but it will look great open over my growing bump. I also picked up 2 tees- NY tee and navy stripe ballet tee. Both are great fabric, not see through, and will work most of my pregnancy. The only thing I'm on the fence about are the metallic flats. They are a little stiff and with sore, swollen feet that's not a good combo. But they are adorable so I might just keep them to wear next spring.

    Still on the way to me - the poppy necklace in forest green and a Jackie cardi in burnished moss. Both great fall additions that will liven up my maternity basics!

  4. I saw the Factory basketweave pencil skirt in Brilliant Sunflower and it's really sharp IRL, such a gorgeous, crisp pattern. Unfortunately both stores I went to over the course of 2 days were both sold out of size 12 only, so I could only try the 10. The 10 was skin tight on me, so I think my usual 12 would have been TTS.
