J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. Styling the Rick-Rack jacket and strapless cross-front top in my latest post for July 4th. Jacket I found on the clearance rack. Fit is TTS. Top fits wonderfully, and I purchased it in both colors. I sized down to a 4 (usually a 4 or 6 for reference).

    Happy 4th! Stopping at Factory today to check out the 60% off sale before enjoying the holiday.

  2. I keep checking the Factory site to see if anyone has reviewed the lace-up linen-cotton sweater. I'm hoping it's less boxy than the retail version. Maybe with free shipping I'll go ahead and try it.

  3. Of course t didn't get a pic but I wore last years white Garden shorts in linen (first time wearing them!) with the white piece dyed linen popover from this spring, with a red tie belt from Madewell (it's a thick cotton with a tonal pattern). Madewell Gunmetal metallic boardwalk laceup sandals also from last summer. I wore the factory Hawaii bandana around my neck. (My husband wore the coordinating Hawaii shirt.) it was summery and festive but not over the top Americana. I'll def wear it again and take a pic!

  5. The orange A-line dress with sash that is now sold out in everything but 000 fits HUGE in the top. I am definitely returning. Their sizing issues are so irritating that I am just going to stop buying online only items. It's not worth the effort. (I used to be between a 2-4- am 5'10", around 118 lbs, a small B and lately I am just swimming in the 4s).

  7. So basically bought everything except the shoes, scarf, bow top, sunglasses case and bathing suits in the Postcard Print. My very favorite item is the dress. It is beautiful! I bought a 12 petite, but also ordered the 10 petite to see my if it fits as the length might be better. I will let you know. My next favorite thing is the ruffle top. I actually bought this in a regular 6. I thought the ruffle might be overwhelming, but found that if you size down and unbutton the the first button, you can wear it off the shoulder which is way cuter than wearing it as shown in the model shot. When a tiny SA saw me wear it this way she re-tried it on in a size down and bought it when she hated it before. It looked so good with her matchstick white jeans. The T-shirt is super cute, but I went up a size to a medium. I hated the skirt in my regular size 6 because there was just too much fabric, especially with the pleating. It looked so frumpy. Really disappointed that this one did not come in a petite but only regular and tall. Ended up trying and purchasing a 4 even thought the top button is really tight. Either going to lose 5 pounds or move the button over an inch or try Spanx. The pouch is super cute and looks great with my Madewell transport tote. The shorts are also cute and I went with my normal size 6. While the 8 fit better in the waist, they were too long and too wide on the bottom. Almost forgot about the striped sweater which was AWFUL. It is so boxy and the sleeves so baggy even in an XS. Not sure if this one comes in a petite but it would have to be super cheap, so it would be worth altering it. May not even be able to alter it as the pattern is striped. With all the crazy pricing games, I was able to purchase everything at 30%-40% off during the past few weeks. Now trying to decide if an off-the-shoulder bathing suit is practical when wet. Love the bikini, but the bottom is sold out and the top only available in an XS.
