Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Can someone please report if stores are still 50% off sale items? I asked a VPS if she'd extend that to me since what I wanted wasn't in store and she said it wasn't 50% off sale anymore. (I contacted VPS the day after I went to the store.)

    4. No update to sale page all weekend. Going to try and just Stop looking for awhile.....so boring. I think J Crew needs to revamp their online presence...its been the same for ages. If online shopping is on the rise....better get with it.

    5. Stuff kept disappearing too. It went from over 140 pairs of shoes to 70 at one point, same with shirts, etc.

    7. My store was 50% off as well, not that it mattered as I swear it was all the same stuff that was there before Christmas, just more picked over. Perhaps there were more shoes? I left without even trying anything on, and also left Anthro empty-handed (but after several try-ons), which is pretty amazing for me as it's 40% off sale there.

    8. One NYC store I went to on Saturday was 40% off (Columbus Circle), but another (Prince Street) was 50% off yesterday.

  4. I agree, so boring right now, but it always is this time of year for J.Crew and other retailers I guess. I just know that J.Crew is getting tons of bad press. I will really be curious to see what Spring brings. Please have some awesome prints and plaids and some pencil skirts, shirts that fit right and pants that fit right. The shoes have been on point for me so just keep up the good shoes especially the ones with the lower heels.

    1. Boden has spring releases onsite now. I like several of their pencil skirts and spring coats. There is a lot of cute stuff. Lastly, they have a good variety in pant options to fit hourglass or rectangular shapes in petite/reg/tall length. One of their pants reminds me a lot of the cafe Capri.

    2. Thanks cmg! I have never shopped Boden but I should probably look.

    3. I'll be picking up a Boden order tomorrow, hoping for more keepers after my first successful order in November. So far I've just tried their dresses, and I love how they offer most of them in Short, Regular, and Long, so that I can get an above-the-knee dress that isn't too short (I'm 5'9"),

  5. So I guess no January catalog - oops, Style Guide - this year? Anyone know when the next one comes out? Really need to see something new as it is so gray and dreary right now.

  6. Finally, my navy and suede heels with fringe just arrived today. Now, I have all 3 versions and guess what, I want to keep all three. I know that is so bad but I did order these before the end of the year. I am trying not to shop in January. I am almost afraid not to keep them because they do fit and are very classic. I can see me wearing these for years to come. I also think what if something did happen, I need to be prepared for a few years.

    1. I feel your pain sister. When I ordered the Sophia sequin and the scallop glitter I only wanted to keep one. Loved the sequin and wore them on NYE, then got the glitter scallop and love them too. I'm embarrassed.

    2. I said to my sister, how many pairs of sparkly shoes does one woman need? I mean, how old am I? Where am I going? Im in all black most of the time. One guy at my gym calls me a ninja. But put a pair of sparkly shoes on someone wearing all black and suddenly it's not so somber.

      Delete
    3. Awww, Suz Has, your ninja comment made me laugh! i saw your scallop shoes on Insta and they looked super cute (can't remember the glitter ones, though I'm sure I saw them at one point, too.) I vote for keeping both!! Think of the Scallops as a 'back-up version' of the sequin ones, maybe? Same for DD -- it's hard enough finding something you love, that fits, is classic, etc. Go for it, ladies!

I'm still sticking to my January ban, but it's only the 9th and there's a new rollout this week, I've a while to go! I have two small GC that i'll allow myself to use should there be something absolutely, positively necessary....

    4. roll out is still two weeks away...preview this week.. but no real roll out for an eternity...

      Delete
    5. @Unknown, you're right, I saw Ina's post above, should have written preview! It's best (for me) that the real rollout isn't until the end of the month so that maybe I can really go through a shop-free January. We should be receiving rewards a few weeks or so after that.

    6. @DD @Suz Has, I vote for keeping them. If they fit well and you know you're going to wear them, then why not? The prices right now with sale are hard to beat; you likely got all pairs for what 1 would've cost you at full price. 3 for 1 & 2 for 1 sound like a win to me 😂!

      Delete
    7. @DD @SuzHas I agree with @Mygoddy, if you love them and they fit well I say keep them. It can be hard to find shoes you love and while I'm hopeful that Jcrew will keep making great shoes you never know. The prices have been so good lately which also makes it hard to pass up the opportunity.
I'm feeling guilty myself as I ordered two collection skirts (Ratti acid rose and the collection midi in lace) with the intention of picking one but I want to keep both. @SuzHas, I'm laughing at your comments because I'm saying the exact same thing in regards to wanting to keep the pink lace midi - how old am I, where am I going ? :)

    8. How did the shoes fit? TTS? Large? I say keep them if you like them.... enjoy! Good shoes are hard to find....

    10. @jan the Ratti skirt just shipped and I'm sooooo happy! Saw your comments and can't wait to receive it. Saw this skirt @ NYFW & I knew it would be on my wishlist. Silk will work great for spr/sum. The pink midi is really cute, & if it's the one I'm thinking of, it looked so pretty on Rynetta. You're actually getting a head start on spr/summer because both will work even though they were released in the fall. Collection pieces are worth it and the deals are really too good to pass up. I ordered 4 pairs of shoes and I'm keeping 2 for sure. Will keep a 3rd pair if my shoe cobbler has a way to protect the gold glitter on the Sadie flats. And if not, I'm really happy with the others (pom pom tartan plaid flats and satin jeweled ankle strap flats). I know some folks are shopped out, but this is a really good time to buy wishlist item an/or Collection because of the sales.

    11. @kate tayban i hAve had great luck with shoes this fall/winter.
Slingback flats in snakeskin, cap toe Kiki purchased this fall
glitter Collins and rhubarb (red) gemmmas purchased late summer on sale
And heels: Lena captoe, colorblock satin, red Sophia, Sequin Sophia and the glitter scalloped heels.
      OMG...
Sizing is all over, I range from an 8 in the glitter scalloped, 8.5 in most others, and 9 in the Lena and Colorblock satin.
Thank goodness for selling many of my shoes on Poshmark, etc.

    12. I think you should determine what your last return date is (60 days right? but you've had a pair or two for a while so subtract that time) and make the decision closer to that date. In the meantime, wear any of the shoes you want to wear. If you want to wear them, it probably means you should keep them. They are a classic style but still unique enough that you won't find them again later.

    13. Suz Has, I think the mostly black wardrobe is exactly why you like and should wear sparkly shoes! They probably add a dash of fun to any outfit.

    14. @Mygoddy, that's fantastic that the ratti skirt shipped! I'm looking forward to your thoughts when you receive it, I took it out of my closet yesterday just to look at how lovely it is lol. The yellow shade is just so beautiful. Thank you for making me feel better about the pink skirt, you're right it is the pink one that Rynetta wore. She looked great in it, I buy many items after seeing them on Rynetta. Great prices on collection pieces, putting them away for s/s. Kind of surprised they were fall releases.
I saw your pic with the tartan Pom Pom flats and they looked beautiful on you! They were on my list but I spent too much on other things lol.
I'm sure I'll keep them both but as Cate mentioned, having 60 days helps when deciding. :)

    15. @jan thanks so much! i had to laugh too on the spending too much. Way over budget, but I've done great for the first 10 days of 2017 😂. Hope you keep both; think they're great pieces for s/s!

  8. Went to the Clearance Store one last time. It was a wreck. Most of the stuff left was damaged but the Ebay sellers were still there buying up huge amounts of clothes. It's so sad. But I managed 4 pairs of pants, two sweaters, a white shirt (all good quality) for $50. Everything was 75% off the Clearance Store price. My white shirt was $5.

    1. It's nice that you were able to find some deals! sad that it's closing.

    2. So sad that it's closing as it's been a dream of mine to go there. My understanding is there is another one, but for the life of me I can't remember where. Does anyone know if that one is closing as well?

    3. I believe the other one is in Arden, NC. @DD shops at that one and I'm pretty sure she mentioned that it's staying open.
I finally visited the lynchburg one last June (took my poor fam on a detour during our drive to FLA). While I didn't find much at all it was probably because I could only get there in the afternoon. Glad I got there as it was a dream of mine too. :)
