Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the HOLIDAY sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  2. Also noticed that all the jewelry in the non FS section is marked FREE SHIPPING. I like it:)

  3. I kid you not, my word verification is "entice" :)

I won't be going now, since I got sucked into the sale vortex (again)...my cashmere cobblestone cardigan popped back up and I had to jump. God help me.

  4. As Twiga mentioned, ALL the jewelry is marked Free Shipping.
But gosh, they must really have a lot of leftover stock they can't get rid of, to be offering yet another go around of sale, with the lower free shipping level.

  5. No trip for me this weekend. Honestly, there isn't really enough I want to see IRL to even justify spending the gas money or time to go.

  6. Twiga & Mia: There was a post about that news in one of yesterday's post if you are interested: Free Shipping on J.Crew Jewelry . :)

  7. We've got giant snowdrifts and more on the way tomorrow - to go to the mall and look at spring clothes would just be cruel. :)

  8. I'm with FFM. Doesn't really seem worth the time and energy (mine or the car's). Sad.

  12. I wanted to go yesterday but I'm still sick so probably next week. Seriously these days I'm not motivated to go to the mall and shop around...

  13. If anyone sees the Lace-stripe tissue tee in store, could you please comment on the quality and fit?

    TIA

  14. Has anybody been to an outlet recently? Wondering if it's worth the trip...

Haven't been to a B&M in a few weeks either, but will probably hold out for a few more weeks as there isn't much in the spring rollout that caught my eye.

  15. I live in the sticks so I don't usually get to shop the b/ms, but will be visiting family in the Detroit area in 2 weeks and wondered if other JCAs could recommend which are the best J Crews/J Crew Outlets to visit in that area? TIA!

  16. OT: I was in H&M this morning and saw a dress that is pretty much identical to the maritime dress. The best part? No zippers:) It has 3/4 length sleeves and thick navy/white stripes. I like the blue color of the maritime dress but the navy and white combo is just as cute. It was only $24.95 too. Taller ladies will be happy to hear that it is pretty long. Hope this helps those of you looking for an alternative!

  17. BeyondtheBlue,

My parents live in Bloomfield Hills and I've been to the J. Crew at the Somerset Collection in Troy several times. It's not very big, but from what I remember, they had a good selection of items/sizes/sale merchandise. Same goes for the outlet at Howell. It's been over a year since I was there, but I remember being pleased with what I thought were good deals.

  18. beyondtheblue, the outlet at Birch Run is a good one. There are a lot of other good stores there, too. But depending on where you are, it might be further than you want to drive.

  19. just came back from the B&M in Columbia MD. like cuckoo said, there are some new arrivals already in the sale section (Bevin blouse, watercolor skirt both for 49.99, drapey stripe tank for 19.99).
I also picked up the No. 2 pencil skirt in Citron, which the SA said they JUST got in. Eyed a pair of chino short that i don't think are online yet... rust colored with white polkadots.

  20. Beyond the Blue- I travel to Detroit for Business monthly and LOVE LOVE LOVE the Jcrew@ The Somerset collection. Fabulous sale section, shoes, lots of collection items, tons of jewelry and they have crewcuts. Seriously it is my #1 favorite store in the US (and I visit a lot of stores when I travel;)

  21. I got the Nickleby top for $39.99-it runs very large, I'm normally a 4 in perfect fit shirts and a 2 in camis, took a 0. The Bevin blouse is cute, but I'm thinking it will go lower than $49.

  22. Hi Catrina, Mommydearest and Twiga-

Thank you so much for the recommendations! I plan for sure to visit Birch Run and Somerset, and my sister in law mentioned that there is a store in Rochester that we could go to. I just hope that in 2 weeks they have some awesome sales/mark downs! Thank you again for being so helpful. :)

  23. The levelette dress is already on sale. Irl pics in this post.

  24. If you make a purchase with both a gift and credit card, will a refund be made to your credit card if you keep items over the value of the gift card?

    (Hope that makes sense!)

    ReplyDelete
  25. minzunuami - that totally makes sense and I've been wondering the same thing! I hope someone out there has the answer. I have heard of stores insisting on crediting to a gift card first, but I do not know if JC does that.

  26. Hi Kristin! No J. Crew is no different.

Sigh, got the email and Elizabeth in another post confirmed it.

"If you need to return any items to us, a credit would first be issued back in the form of a gift card. Any credits over [the gift card total] would then go back to your Visa card. Hope this helps."

    I don't get why though...

    ReplyDelete
  27. minzunuami - I was afraid of that. That is so wrong IMO. If you are keeping a value that is over the GC then the credit should go back to your card.

Thank you for sharing what you found out!

  28. Kristin! Here's some hopeful news

Kathy from the other post said, "When I use both forms of payment I have found that the store will return it all to my visa and catalog/online will return it all to gift card. I have never had anyone at J. Crew break up a return for the seperate amounts purchased to individual cards."

I'm doing a B&M return, so wish me luck! =)

  29. I'm dying for one of the New Arrivals skirts, but I'm not sure if I'll be going this weekend.

Does anyone have any idea approximately when the New Arrival stuff goes on sale...and how much is the first markdown?

  30. Had an amazingly good customer service experience on the phone re. store promo of the Nickleby bib top (#35673). I decided to take the plunge on the top in the waterfront color and all three of my local stores (yes, when I get obsessed, I get a little OCD!) didn't have the color. The $39.99 promo has definitely made an impact!

Desperate, I called the University Village Seattle store for a charge send and somehow got the We Will Find It service. Krishanda with WWFI CS confirmed that if they don't have the top in stores, they can locate it and send it to your home from a red phone in-store, honoring the in-store pricing (I always here conflicting information about this and not one Portland, OR SA offered this service, even though I mentioned I was looking for a specific color and size). Knowing that I wasn't in the store, Krishanda kindly placed the order for me - I ordered two sizes since I heard the top runs large - honoring the in-store promo price and giving me free shipping. And since it's not final sale, I can return the size that doesn't fit best. I was beyond pleased and said "Thank you!" about 20 times before hanging up the phone.

WTG, JC! Now if only all your SAs volunteered that type of information consistently!

  31. I went to Lake Grove B&M with little expectations, but fell in love with the Indian Voile boy shirt in Blue seashore. The weight of the fabric is just right, as is the fit. I am going to stalk it until it goes on sale (hopefully soon).

  32. Was able to go to the b&m at Friendly Center in Greensboro today...spent all of 10 minutes (if that) in there, just wandering around. Saw nothing of interest except the new No. 2 pencil skirt in citron. Did more damage at the Anthro around the corner!

  33. I'm going to the Crewlet on Monday but dang, I just realized it's an hour's drive from my house! GRRRRR. It better be worth it. I thought it was maybe half an hour at most. Will report back. :)

  34. So...I ended up buying the full price Floral Tulle Mini. I was praying it would look horrendous on me (so that I could save money, haha), but it was just as cute in person. I did have a $50 gift card, though, and I can still pass for an undergrad (graduated not that long ago) so I got the student discount.

Total? $52 with tax. I think the skirt is worth it!

  35. Slim pickings @ OKC - Penn Square. The only thing I purchased was the double wrap buckle bracelet in lagoon green ... it's on sale in the store $9.99 vs. $25 online. The Bevin & Nickelby tops were on sale for $39.99 ... only one Nickelby left & a few Bevins.
