  1. Question: is it dumb to get a duplicate of a sweater I really like? I mean the exact same sweater... Not like a different color. Final sale but the price is decent and I know it'll fit.

    1. Guilty as charged. I’ve done it several times. Ironically I have three of the same chunky black Everlane sweater (one is a smaller size I think) and I loved it so much I also got it in red and a mottled black/white. I wore the black and had to force myself to even put on the other colors.
      I prob didn’t need three…lol. .

    2. Very guilty of that in the past. Although there is truly no justification for these purchases (in my case), my thinking seems to be that if it's something I like and fits well and is a good price, a duplicate might be nice in case something happened to one of them. To be honest, that "disaster" has never happened, but that was my mindset. Yep, duplicate colors.

  2. I have done that before and have used it well. Saved one for sort of work and out. And because I loved it one eventually became my home sweater! I also think sweaters are not T-shirts. Hard to wash and care for, so if your rotate well, steam and spray with laundress it lasts longer and looks better. So yes I have done this. I think it’s what you love and makes you happy. For example today I am wearing white jewled bow top in white form 5-6 years ago. I have 2 in white and 2 on blue stripe. I love them and wear them all seasons so having duplicates is a blessing!

  3. Didn't take much to convince me! I ordered that duplicate sweater. I do really like it and I have worn it a number of times... and worst case is Jcrew cancels the order but I already have the sweater :)

  4. For me it’s about uniform dressing. I have multiples of the same sweater, tshirts, tanks and workout wear. And underwear!
I remember as a kid reading about Einstein’s wardrobe. Today people might relate it to Steve Jobs. I can be fickle but when I like something and it functions well for me I will wear it all the time.
The chunky Everlane sweaters I mentioned above, I would wear them with my leather pants but switch up my shoes and coat. I wore that for almost every occasion, late fall and winter 2019/2020 right before the Covid shut down. Is that crazy? I tried to wear other things but honestly, I always felt good!
My gym uniform is similar. I have two different styles of tanks in multiple and multiples of the same leggings.
Do I need multiples? For workout wear, yes. For the sweaters I could get by with one but this gives me the chance to clean, depill, etc.

  6. OT here but I thought Sezane Lovers might be interested. They have some of the most beautiful pieces that I have seen, one being and I purchased it. It is called the Pierro Shirt x G. Kero a well known artiste for beautiful and whimsical designs. I purchased one and it’s fabulous. Jcrew should have jumped in the band wagon with her. She manufactures her clothes or you can view on G.Kero.com or Sezane’s website. Not all of you may like it but the compliments have been unlimited. The quality is excellent.
