Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It's the time of year where we can spend time with our loved ones and enjoy a fantastic meal. It also officially starts the Holiday season. :)

This year looks a lot different for most of us. The one gift 2020 has offered most of us is perspective on what is truly important in life. I hope everyone is safe and healthy during this holiday season.

  1. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Hoping everyone has a nice day and stays healthy and safe. Hopefully next year will be a much better one. Grateful for so many things this year one of the most important being that there will be a vaccine available soon.

  2. Love to all on this day of gratitude, and remembrance of the brave people who established the USA with love of freedom and hope for future generations. Thankful for the brilliant scientists who are working out vaccines remarkably fast so we can turn the page on this time.

And now, my Thanksgiving tradition - what are you wearing today? I'm cooking now, so it's leggings and a sweatshirt. But later I think I will either go with my Collection velvet blazer over a ss merino sweater dress and wear charcoal grey heels with the charcoal glitter toe cap or black silk trousers and a cashmere turtleneck with mid-heel booties.

  3. Happy Thanksgiving to all of the US JCAs, wishing you a wonderful holiday! @Lynn, cannot wait for a vaccine to rollout and things to start getting better! 😊

Thank you Alexis for this great blog, so many wonderful people on here. It’s been a bright spot during these crazy times.

  4. Happy thanksgiving to everyone. It’s only four of us today. My husband and I have been working on a few things around the house and that will continue today and then I’ll do some cooking later. Hopefully we will get to enjoy our outdoor space and if so I might wear new AG burgundy coated jeans, a black sweater, silk scarf and Stella McCartney Elyse star flatforms which are my current obsession.
We’ve traveled the past few years as a family so I’m missing our trips but also missing one of my girls and extended family.

  5. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Wearing my new green embroidered dog shirt, cedar chinos, leopard flats and best of all, lipstick and full-face foundation. I'm home alone cooking turkey, but as I always tell friends, she who does her best to maintain her wit, intelligence and style is never totally alone in life. I'm sure that applies of all of you JCAs. Here's to better days ahead.
Lynn--how did the goggle t-shirt work for your dog?

    1. @Mary, Happy Thanksgiving the t-shirt worked out fine for him . It’s such a cute shirt. Wish I could post a pic here. Great tee for anyone. With his new blue goggles he feels very cool! Favorite song “You’re So Vain” 😂

    2. Yes, wish you could post a picture here too. Watching the dog show today was my surprise fun. I always forget that's on after the Macy's parade.

  6. Love to all, but most especially to Alexis for giving us this space through the years. Those of us who have been here since the inception fondly remember and cherish the incredible ability of Alexis to keep this site up and running steadily through what were often contentious words and thoughts.

  7. Happy Thanksgiving, JCAs. Echoing appreciation for Alexis for maintaining this space, and gratitude to all of my fellow posters as well. It’s wonderful to have this little online community of J. Crew enthusiasts, even moreso this year. Haven’t decided what I’m wearing clothing-wise yet, currently there’s a very late-rising cat on my hip I’m trying not to disturb! One perk of not having a communal TG is not having to have a cooking timeline.

  10. This is way off topic, but the Wall Street Journal had an article about Mickey Drexler selling his Idaho home. Unfortunately, WSJ has a paywall, so link will not work if you don't have a subscription, but I'm also including a link from a free online periodical which is even better because it's from when he listed it and has more pictures!

  11. Happy Thanksgiving all! So thankful for Alexis who keeps this community going and for everyone who participates. I love visiting here everyday. Didn’t wear j crew today, which is quite unusual for me! I wore an anthro button down, old navy jeans, and my Tory Burch minnies. I was going to buy the green velvet blazer for today and decided I just wanted to be casual and comfy. I’ve already placed a few crew orders including a new swim coverup. I’m sure I’ll eek out another order before the weekend is up. I’ve also been doing a closet clean out and trying to find new ways to style old favorites, including super old cashmere tippis and the lovely tulle trim cardigan. This has helped me focus my shopping and online perusing.

  12. Happy Thanksgiving to the JCAs! Hope everyone has had a blessed holiday! I've spent the day with "my bubble," so there were 5 of us. I cooked (mac-n-cheese, greens and a peach cobber) to add to the other meal items. It was definitely different; I was on a Zoom call with my family (2.5 hours) and we had a great time. Played games, danced, told stories and just spent time with one another. So much to be grateful for and we're making plans for something similar for Christmas.
