J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. I got my lobster sweatshirt in from Factory. It's so cute! Fit is TTS. A steal for $40.

  2. I received the tie-waist seaside pants (AN013). I sized up from my usual size and that was a mistake because they are way too big, even with the drawstring waist. I would say order your usual size, maybe even size down. I tried sizing up in these because I also have the zip-up seaside pants (AJ454) in my usual size and they are a bit snug. Still debating if the tie-waist are worth trying again in a smaller size. Does anyone have these and love them?

    1. I don’t have any input for you, but I’m curious to know, what are the back pockets like on the tie-waist ones? They don’t show a picture of the rear for any of the colors.

    2. Hi Alyssa! There are pockets and they are functional and full-size. No button closure or anything decorative. HTH!

  3. Can anyone comment on the fit of the Sequin skirt in Rose Gold? Was it TTS? How did the waist sit? I seem to recall reviews for one of the sequin skirts mentioning that it was high waisted?

    1. if you mean the sequin pencil skirt in rose gold (F9233) it ran large. It also a little longer than their usual pencils skirts, about 26 or 27" length. In my usual size 6 it is loose and falls below the natural waist. I think the right size for me would be a 4T so I'm always stalking eBay and posh for that size :P. I was hoping to wear mine to two different event this spring that got cancelled. sad :(

    2. Thanks julielion! I found some reviews on the Nordstrom site that concur with your comments regarding fit, and others that say TTS. I can’t seem to find the J.Crew listing anymore. I appreciate your help!

  4. I received the Vintage Lighthouse tee today in Belmont Khaki. It’s a well made tee and runs a little large. The color is rather unique and the contrasting blue is nice however I don’t think the color is good for me. I look forward ashes out and it has a muddy effect. I wish they would have done this in different colors. Disappointed. Tomorrow the silk twill flying lobsters blouse arrives as well as the matching silk scarf. Will post after try on. The cashmere lobster sweater hasn’t shipped yet. Everything is arriving well ahead of time down here. Just wish the returns were processed faster. Has anyone ordered the linen tie dyed relaxed look men beach sweater? If so what are your thoughts on sizing?

  5. I meant the dip-dyed linen beach sweater in the Monaco Blue. AM099 Keyboard here on Firefox is awful. I have 4 different languages set up and the only one thy doesn’t work is English:)

  6. Received a boat neck t-shirt with pop trim AJ622 and I am on the fence. I really liked the idea of the tee, but IRL it does not match up. Fabric is not too thin, but looks cheaper and does not have a sheen to it, so it looks very plain. I have a feeling it will be one season wear. On sale, it is an ok price, but does one need more tees that you do not love?

  7. OT, noticed there were face masks for sale on both Madewell and Jcrew websites. At one point yesterday I saw that 7 ,900+ shoppers were viewing. There’s a limit of 2 and early this morning I put in an order on the Jcrew website shipping June 11. The Madewell appear to be made better for some reason unless Jcrew didn’t update the details. I preordered yesterday on Madewell’s site with a ship date of May 17th. Company states they will be making more. AT684 for Jcrew, MC191 for Madewell. They stated keep looking as they are making more. Packet of 3

    1. Yes, I think JC and Madewell both posted the masks on their IG accts, and the masks sold out later that day.
