Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. There is a lovely tropical print grasscloth pencil skirt at Nordstrom for $56. I couldn’t hit purchase fast enough.

    1. So bright and fun for spring/summer! I hadn’t noticed that print before.

    2. I love that print! I have sworn off more pencil skirts but I wish it came in another style. I can’t believe I’ve never noticed it before.

  2. I received the rigid denim zip midi skirt from a madewell today and it is sadly going back. It is a fantastic fit and color but quite see through. I’m so sad because it is hard to find a white denim skirt that isn’t a mini so I had high hopes for this. But sadly it’s going back.

I also received the Art Deco midi from retail and I’m on the fence. It’s a little shorter than I like (though great for people who aren’t an amazon like me) but the print is gorgeous. It would be great in the winter but the poly slip would be so staticky so I don’t know what to do. Going to sleep on it.

I’ll be at the mall tomorrow making some other returns at Anthro of some home stuff so I’ll probably pop in and see what’s around. I pulled the trigger on the ratti pants but haven’t received them yet.

  3. I received the 3 pairs of sneakers I ordered last week.

I love the New Balance 696 sneakers in marblehead/white (K7773). I think they look better IRL than on the website. Definitely keeping.

I really like the SeaVees Hawthorne canvas slip-on sneakers, too (L3433). I think I’ll keep them, but there’s one issue I could see in the initial tryon: I can feel the air holes in the insoles on the bottoms of my feet. The holes are too big. They almost feel like I have sand in my shoes. Not good. I may have to switch out the insoles or wear them with socks.

I’m not sure about the third pair, the Gola for J.Crew Coaster high-top sneakers in white/silver (H7499). I like everything about them except the silver stripes. I’m a big fan of colored and patterned shoes, but something about the silver feels a little gaudy and ott to me.

    1. I debated the 696 until too late. Reviews from around the web made me think I would need 1/2 size up and there were none. Since they are now final sale I was leery of ordering my usual NB size.

I passed on those high-tops since too many reviews said the soles peeled away quickly.

Today for casual Friday I wore the Tretorn/Liberty Marley sneakers in navy/ivory floral Those re excellent. Super comfortable, wide in the forefoot narrow in the heel and the print is perfect. Lots of compliments!

  4. I received the Lucie suede pumps in cerise from before the price was raised again. I paid $25 - as of today they are $80. Anyway, I had ordered my regular and 1/2 size up (as usual for pointy shoes). I'm sticking with the 1/2 size up as they are actually a nice fit & do not hurt my forefoot. The smaller size would pinch around the top of the vamp. There seems to be a bit of extra room in the heel when I am seated, but once I am standing that mostly vanishes and I do not walk out of them. The low cut instep is what makes these shoes look great and makes them a bit less comfortable unless you go with your larger size. Since I returned two pair of block heel pumps (too high & uncomfortable) I will keep these.

I also received the Harper leather backpack. I think I will keep it, as it is a nice replacement for my 20+ year old leather backpack/purse. It is a bit larger than my old one, but that is probably a good think as the old one would get overstuffed on a day trip. Seems like it's my job to carry the drinks, snacks, umbrellas and anything else we need.

    1. I see the Harper backpack is sold out, so I guess the price on that was not raised prior to this sale as were so many other items.

  6. Retailmenot is still doing 15% cash back. It takes weeks, but eventually you get $s via PayPal.

  7. I received an email stating it was a class action lawsuit settlement from J.crew factory/mercantile with an $8 gift card. Why would a lawsuit send gift cards to the store as a settlement? Did anyone else get this?

    2. I googled it, there are several news stories about the lawsuit, and a discussion on Reddit as well. Only 3 states got payouts: CA, NJ, and NY

    3. I got it. I haven’t ever shopped in a factory store 🤷‍♀️

    4. I wish I would have gotten this, since I need to order something from factory! I don't know why J. Crew constantly removes me from their email list: I get no birthday promo, no apology codes, not even puppies!

  8. Does anyone if you can get the Ratti tulip skirt with the 40 percent promo in store? I noticed that the skirt is excluded from promos online

    1. DD, not sure if they can apply the promo to this item or not, but my store (Louisville, KY) has the best J. Crew manager around. Call and ask for Jason and tell him you're a JCA. He's done favors for JCAs before and is incredible.

  10. I received my peony driving Mocs this week and finally opened them. My usual sz 9 is a tad snug but I think the suede would stretch a bit - I hope. They make a creaky noise when I walk. Did anyone else experience that? For the price I can probably live with it but it’s annoying to have loud shoes.

    1. In my experience, loud shoes stay loud unless you take it to a cobbler to silence its squeaks. :/
