Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I didn’t visit in person but I certainly did online (Friday), unsuccessfully hunted for pop backs this weekend, and picked up the silk heart blouse, white garden liberty, and cerise slim perfect shirt this morning using the retailmenot and extra 60% codes! I do have some guilt but can’t resist stockpiling.
I wouldn’t even know where else to find blouses that fit me, especially at these prices.

    1. Glad to hear the Retailmenot code works since the Cardlove isn’t available anymore.
I’m just hoping some of what I ordered on Friday ships. Nothing for me this time around although I’ll keep checking.

    2. No visit for me either, but my index finger got a workout the last few days scrolling and ordering. I placed additional orders this weekend and a few this morning. Wanted to try a lighter wash denim for spring so ordered eco jean in medium wash when my size popped back in tall, Liberty poppy ankle tie ballet flats (love how J Crew styled with denim on IG), polka dot silk strapless dress and leopard silk crop pants. Also, a few Christmas gifts for family and sent an email to CS for more PAs.

    3. I was just told no PAs because with CARDLOVE the prices were lower. Curious to see if anyone gets a different response.
The lack of consistency with this is kind of frustrating, TBH.

    4. Honestly, I'll just be happy if my orders from Friday actually ship. The two orders from Thursday have shipped and will probably arrive today and I did receive price adjustments on those.

    5. Me too, I don't need any adjustments, I'm happy with what I paid and just want them to ship.

    6. I agree that I am happy with what I paid and will be glad if/when my purchases ship. I still find the inconsistency regarding PAs frustrating. Do it or don’t, but each assoc should have the same response.

    7. Oh yes, Suz, agree completely. It makes me so mad when I get told no when I know others are getting the price adjustments.

    8. He*l yeah Suz! It makes me feel awful, like I'm not valued as a customer AT ALL.

    9. same re: inconsistency. Last month I got push back about some price adjustments and I said I was just going to reorder and repurchase some items and they put it through but I shouldn't have to argue for them.

Also, just got one of the "your order is on schedule" emails from my Friday order ...which probably means I'll get another email an hour later that the order shipped. Guess we will see!

    10. I also got two of the "your order is on schedule" emails this morning. I just checked my order history and 1 item out of an order of 10 items shipped - and it is the one thing I really don't care if I get or not, of course!!

    11. I asked for a PA for a winter coat I ordered last Thursday and got it, but I never ask for PAs so maybe that's why. Years ago, I was told you get a PA in 7 or 14 days if the item is marked down from full price but that's it. Since I'm an already marked down plus promo shopper, I've never asked. I've read about several people on this website asking for them regardless of the circumstance. It appears it's inconsistent but their customer service is way better than any other company out there. I hope this never changes but you never know with their money problems.

    12. I was also rejected for a PA at first when I asked for the 60% + 20% with CARDLOVE (even though I noted that both codes worked for me at 11pm last night - when I wrote for the adjustment). They did eventually (after denying the code stacks and making me send proof) adjust to 60% + 15% with the retailmenot code.

If they have a 7-day price adjustment policy, I'll use it! If they didn't have it, I would shop differently, but they should be consistent about honoring the policy that they choose to have in place.

    13. I just wish they’d hire or train folks on how to multiply/subtract on price adjustments. It’s a rare instance that they refund me the correct amount. It it’s a small adjustment, I don’t ask. And if their math is off, and it’s only a few dollars, I don’t bother pointing it out. But it shouldn’t be difficult to calculate adjusting an order that was one item for full price to 50% off...

  2. I stopped by Friday to make a return but didn't look around much. I received very friendly responses last night about adjustments to my first wave of popback orders (all of which have shipped) but the subsequent orders I placed have not shipped yet nor have I requested a price adjustment. Looks like the retailmenot code is stacking with the 60 - I am contemplating the stretch wool suiting dress to have a good staple black work dress when I need to dress up. It's not a must have though.

  3. Ordered the gingham trench coat, a silk scarf and a polka dot pajama set on Friday. Got the we’re hustling email for all three. Asked for a price adjustment for the trench coat today. Still waiting for an order that I placed on April 3 to ship :-((
Great scores though and as I won’t be able to wear them as it’s still cold I’ll just wait patiently;-)

  4. I just got confirmation that my first sale item has shipped. The gold studded leopard loafers I ordered at 3 am EST on Friday morning.

RE: price adjustments. My personal opinion is I'm not going to nickel and dime them when I'm already getting 50% off and 15% off for the difference between 50% and 60%. It makes no sense, to me. That requires more employees to due more work, which thus increases prices. I also don't want my beloved J. Crew to go out of business. When I worked there many customers wanted merchandise for as close to free as they could get it, all the while expecting (any/or all) impeccable service, no lines, every size and color available, free water bottles, steaming...I used to joke to my coworkers they would be happier at Neiman's top floor.

    1. Plaid Harlows also shipped, for those that ordered them.

    2. I’m torn on that. For one item, ten percent doesn’t make much difference but when you’re spending a few hundred, that extra ten percent does matter. That’s kind of how I look at it.
Times have changed, though. Years ago I placed a large order, not having been as “savvy” or frequent a crew shopper as I am now. A day later the sale section was an extra 30 percent off. It was a large purchase and they refused to honor a price adjustment because the items were already on sale. I was really upset since I really didn’t allow myself to spend much back then with three young kids. For years after I wouldn’t ask for a PA, I just waited for extra percentage off sales before I bought. It wasn’t until I became a frequent follower of JCA that I even considered asking for a PA on sale items after hearing about everyone else doing it.

    3. ITA. If it’s 7 days and no sale items, then enforce it. I also only shop sale with an addl percentage off.

  5. Nice to see some customers actually care for J.Crew. We complain about JC's downward spiral in quality but that that is in part owing to its customer's incessant demands for sales & price adjustments.

    1. It’s a double edged sword. I’ve recently looked up prices I paid for coats, blazers, shoes and even jeans. We (or at least I) used to pay more.
I tried to replace an older red linen schoolboy blazer with the current deconstructed red blazer because it’s tight in the shoulders. I paid over $100 for the blazer a few years ago. Today even at less than half price I didn’t think the deconstructed blazer was worth it.
I used to pay more than $50 for Jcrew jeans. I thought it was a deal since I was spending over $100 on designer jeans. (Even my favorite goldsign for Jcrew jeans cost me over $100.) today we can find Jcrew jeans for under $40. Last week I ordered a pair under $15 but they’re going back.
I’d actually sooner spend a little more for items I love if the fit and quality is there. Prices used to be higher but I think quality (for at least some items) made it worth it.

  6. To be fair, the overall quality of mass retail clothing has dropped across the board.

    1. Absolutely, and why I basically stopped shopping at other stores over the past decade.

  7. Went to a store to do returns. I made the mistake of looking - and found a gem - K9669 Point Sur short-sleeve ruffle top in navy. I have what is probably an unfair basis for the items they brand "Point Sur". The item was on the website for a long time and I completely ignored it. It looks so much better in person. It's got ruffles but (to my eye) the ruffles are very subtle and enhance the top, rather than overwhelming it. If you can find it on "popback" and not final sale, it's worth a try. It's polyester, which is a deal-breaker for some, but I don't mind polyester in exchange for easy care.

    1. That's the top that I ordered on a whim, I do not wear ruffles or poly. And I like this ruffled poly top! Not converted to a ruffle-lover, but I am more open minded.

    2. I meant to say "I have what is probably an unfair bias against the items they brand "Point Sur" so I was surprised to really like this piece. But that may not have come out at all due to typos!

  8. The Cardlove code stopped working today because the deadline was yesterday. I wish they would post details on their front page like they used to. I have to refer back to the email they sent.

  9. According to reddit, J.Crew is no longer going to do price adjustments - guess that's why they've been tough about it! Read the post here.

    1. Sorry to clarify, no longer adjusting sale items.

    2. Right, as mentioned, they’re following the policy as written, which I suppose means some people will still continue to ask for PAs and some people will wait to buy until sale is 40/50/60 off.

    3. I can’t say I’m surprised. Free shipping, stacked codes, endless PAs, something’s gotta give.

    4. I'm not surprised either - I'm just wondering if they will honor the commitments they made. Sadly in Canada we don't get the free shipping or the stacked codes so the price adjustment was the only bonus. In my case, I called earlier today and was told I was eligible for price adjustments on a couple of orders. Maybe I beat the change in policy by a few hours...
