Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Last night I got a personal email from Joe regarding the delayed shipment of my red CAPTOE boots. It was very thoughtful ghtfuk and appreciated. I was told the boots would be shipping out within the next two days.
Around 5am, after my husband's phone rang with a work call (grrrr) I noticed two additional emails. The "we've received your cancelation request" and "wish we had enough" emails canceling the red boots.
Thanks for getting my hopes up Joe!

To be honest, at this point I don't care much. If I manage to get them on popback I'll make sure I only pay the sale price. Otherwise I have plenty of other boots to keep my feet happy,

    1. Oh my goodness, what a bummer! That is similar to what happened to me with the snakeskin belt. They emailed me a very cordial personal email saying the shipment was lost, and asked me to confirm I would like another. I graciously replied saying yes, please...and then got the we're sorry and cancellation emails. Say wha? I was just telling Ina last night, I believe it will eventually wind up in my mailbox!

I think you'll find a popback. They're obviously having issues with locating stock...

    2. Booo, I've had those polite encouraging emails and think they are always the precursor to a letdown. Though I did have one pair of sneakers that shipped from a store more than two weeks after ordering. You may well find a popback when the sale section gets updated again, if ever.

    3. In December 2017 I ordered something from Madewell that never showed up. I called them and they refunded me. So, this past December a package showed up from Madewell and I couldn’t think of anything I ordered recently, and when I opened it I didn’t recognize it as anything I had ordered. I checked the invoice and it was that order from December 2017!!! What in the world?!? Where had that package been for an entire year!!

      Delete
    4. A YEAR?? That is one for the record books. Kudos to the postal service (or whomever delivered) for not just chucking it! did you still want it?

      Delete
    5. Oh that's bizarre. What was it? And yes, did you keep it?

    6. @Lauren I had a Gap package go missing this month. UPS said it was delivered but I never saw it. I’m totally bummed I won’t get the jacket that is now sold out, but Gap was very good about issuing me an immediate refund. After reading your story I wonder if the jacket will show up at some point. I’d be happy to have it even a year from now!

    7. I had ordered one of their underwear/bralette sets to try out. They were on clearance so it was about $15-20 worth, so I def kept it.
@shopgrrrl, I hope your item shows up one of these days!

    1. I'm going to be more mindful and examine what I really "need" vs what I want.
Last night I did order a few pairs of faux leather leggings because I miss them in this weather and it will give my real leather pants a break, but I sold something on Poshmark, I'm returning something else, and my red boots canceled. :(

    2. Feb is usually my “no shop month” too! I catch my breath from the post-holiday sales (and the 60-70 at J Crew this year got a lot of my attention). I make an extra effort to wear the winter things that still have the tags on. Plus, I don’t need any more “resort,” and the bulk of the Spring arrivals don’t start for a few weeks.

      Delete
    3. Me too (unless a strapless bra counts. I don’t have one and desperately need it!). All my efforts are going to my new house so I have plenty to keep me busy. Good luck everyone!

    4. I am so sorry your red boots got cancelled!

    5. @shopgrrrl - Yep, I'm back on the wagon. I'm still waiting for several items, though, including the silk jungle cat print top and pants that were supposed to be delivered today but haven't yet arrived in this area per USPS tracking. I also ordered a pair of black Frye ankle boots from Amazon and another fisherman sweater from LL Bean. I've had both of the last two items on my wish list for a while and I was able to pick them up on sale.

    6. Good luck, JCAs. I know we all start NSF with good intentions. I really want to do a break for a few months (I did 5-6 months last year), I need to change my habits. Here’s to a successful #NSF all those trying. Looking forward to hearing about what great outfits are created as we shop our closets!

      Delete
    7. Thanks, shopgrrrl. Good reminder :) I want to exchange a few items, but I don't plan to buy this month. After boxing up and sending returns, I'm very much enjoying the extra space.

  3. Ok JCAs, I had an interesting thought this past weekend. We are cleaning out our current house to sell and building a new one. That means we’ll be living with a relative for a few months and all of our stuff will be in storage. I wanted to pack away all of our summer/spring stuff but needed to pack a suitcase for our February trip to Florida. I pulled out all my warm weather stuff and had so many pieces I wanted to take (I’m talking 15 outfits for 5 days lol!. Warm weather clothing is my weakness. What season is your weakness or favorite to dress for?

    1. Autumn!

I love the rich colors, cords and tweeds, light jackets and the start of sweaters... Mocs and boots... but not needing to bundle up with twenty layers.

      Delete
    2. Winter winter winter. I love blazers, sweaters and layers. Plus you get to wear your colorful coats, scarves, hats & gloves. And never get sticky or hot.

      Delete
    3. I love spring/early summer. That period of time when you don't need a jacket but not short sleeves/tank-top weather yet, when you can wear open-toe shoes/sandals, but you're not sweating a storm by 4 p.m. Also, I love bright colors and florals, and that's the right time for it. Perfect little dress/cardigan season!

      Delete
    4. When I pack for travel I treat it much differently than at home. I try to only do carryons, so I can get a week's worth of clothes (actually it could easily last a month) in a carryon and my Longchamp tote. Everything goes together. I still end up overpacking but It makes it easier to have limited options. I just make sure I have something for any type of weather.

At home I don't even think I have a favorite. i like to dress for each season because I like change. By the time the next season comes along I'm bored of the previous. Of course I love my chunky sweaters and all my coats, but it's so simple to throw on cute shorts, a black tank and sandals or sneakers in the warmer weather, or a black tank, slouchy jeans or my foundry pants and whatever shoes in spring.

      Delete
    5. I agree with eeps! Dresses with cardis, bright colours and patterns, and sandals all make spring/summer favourites for me.

      Delete
    6. Since I've come to love shoes so much, I enjoy the late part of spring when it's stopped being slushy and wet, the part of summer that isn't sweaty, fall, and early winter. Anytime when I don't have to wear rain or snow boots, basically!

      Delete
    7. I really loved reading all these responses!

  4. My final package is arriving tonight, so I will be doing returns tomorrow. Depending on what the %off sale will be in store, I might order a scarf I've had my eye and request a PA. If not, I will start NSF in earnest. I have so many pending charges/return credits on my cc bill for the past two months that I have no idea how much I spent and I really need to go a month trying not to use my cc at all.

  5. Wow, that’s a lot for 5 days. I’m down here on Palm Beach Island for several months in the winter and unless I have to go someplace special I wear as little as possible:) I prefer spring, summer, autumn and even winter back home in Monaco and then I will change a few times daily. (Work) I live in a more temperate climate and it doesn’t get brutally cold unless I travel further north from the Med. I get far more usage out of anything I own there. Enjoy your stay down here. I can’t wait to go home.

    3. LOL at the farming and fishing clothes. You ladies crack me up.

@WFF - I ordered the lavender blazer and I think it's really pretty. I love the color even though the fabric is a bit thin and loosely woven. I haven't decided whether or not to keep it. I already own a lavender cashmere blazer that I bought from Lands' End a few years ago. Does anyone really need more than one lavender blazer?

Speaking of the cashmere blazer, I wish Lands' End would produce more quality items like this. They do offer occasional gems, but you have to dig through a lot of polyester blends to find them. I have the cashmere blazer in both lavender and bright pink and I love them both, but why didn't they make it in gray, camel and navy?

      Delete
    4. longing for a good quality cashmere or cashmere/wool blazer!
Jeanne, the jacket I received may have been an orphan accident, but it definitely wasn’t lavender. I’m feeling ill done by, because I have a number of true lavender featherweight cashmeres just waiting to be part of a perfect outfit. I found a perfect scarf on eBay, but now I’m glad I restrained myself.

      Delete
    5. Wellfedfred, if you can find J Crew’s Parke double faced cashmere blazer, I definitely recommend it. It’s navy and could be paired with lavender and so many other color combos.

      Delete
    6. @Jeanne Lands End used to do a lot of higher quality items (fabric and make), but cuts tended toward the frumpy. They modernized it somewhat with the Canvas line, but then Canvas disappeared. I don’t shop there anymore so I don’t know what their stuff is like these days. I just pulled out an old Lands End shirt I forgot I had that looks like it could be from J.Crew, it’s a beautiful pattern and I recall it was from some famous Italian fabric house. I’ll be wearing it to work on Monday.

    1. Well, at least that is wearable! Call CS and ask if they really want you to return 1/2 a pair of pj's. Maybe they will refund and just let you keep them?

    2. For Pete's sake. Literally, who's minding the store?
I'm with p. Keep the pants and have them search for a top to send you.

    3. i never checked, but do the pajama sets say anything like "2 piece set" on the tags anywhere? i'm wondering if it's a combo of people returning only half sets and the sets being separated because employees don't know it's a set.

      Delete
    4. @Miss JR - I’ve purchased quite a few pairs of pajamas. The pairs usually come folded together, with a ribbon tied around them. I doubt they stay that way for long in-store.

      Delete
    5. J Crew also sells tops and bottoms as separates for pjs, so unless SAs check or really know the merchandise, I can see how this could happen.

      Delete
    6. Yes, I am happy to have a least one set pieced together! Just crazy that it has happened so many times. I have contacted CS and they are looking for the rest of the other set for me. These are kids pajamas and are only sold in sets.

      Delete
  10. I got the 365 crepe drop shoulder turtleneck sweater/top or whatever it was called.
I ordered black, XS since reviews said it ran huge. I mean, I think it's supposed to be oversized looking so I probably could have gotten away with the small too.
Here's one fit issue I'm realizing that my be preference or just me. It seems like a lot of sweaters with banding at the bottom are just straight cut. I wish the band at the bottom was narrower if that makes sense, instead of most garments being straight and boxy, a narrower band at the bottom would at least allow them to hug your hips a little even if the rest was slouchy.
Anyway, I like it. It's kind of thick. Works well over a fitted long sleeve button down, which is how I wanted to wear it. (So I could have probably gotten the small just for this reason). I can also wear it as is. Thankfully it's not cropped and hits the hip.

Did a quick try on and will post the pics on @wearthislikethis. I think there are lots of ways to style it and I really don't think I own anything with this type of near elbow length sleeve. (I usually like to show off my muscular arms if I'm not wearing long sleeves. )

  11. Off topic question for @Suz Has. I just received the pull on lace easy pant in my tall size having broken down and ordered it to Canada with the shipping fee when sale hit 60%. I love it, comfortable if I have to dress up a little. I remember from IG posts that you bought the red lace version some time ago. Have you ever attempted washing these pants? (hand or delicate machine in a mesh bag), or do you just play safe and dry clean only?
PS - love your instagram 3 view pictures to compare looks side by side. I am rooting for you to locate the cap toe red boots! You will rock them!
On topic, Vancouver Park Royal was 60% off sale yesterday, SA thought it might be 50% off for the weekend. Sale racks just same garments that have lingered throughout the post Xmas period. No shoes. Though I did see the silk twill jungle cat shirt hanging with the full price merchandise but stickered with a 127.99$ sale tag. Sadly the size run of the shirts on the rack was too small for me 0-6.

Has anyone solved the mystery of the vanishing online sale section. Holding at around 300 for women in Canada! Lynchburg warehouse buried under snow and nobody getting in to work to pick orders and ship?

    1. I've only worn then three times I think and for very limited amounts of time so I haven't washed them but when I do I'll just hand wash and air dry. I wouldn't want them tumbling around the washing machine.

    2. Oh and thanks for the IG compliments. I started doing three pics because it's a lot of scenery with one pic and sometimes poses make the clothes look a little different. I just set up the phone on a dresser or window sill and use my watch or the self timer. I like to see fits so holding the cell phone doesn't work well for me. I do it for myself as much as to show.

      Delete
    3. Also wondering about the vanished items. I ordered up in the Stubbs and Wootton loafers, which was a bad decision. I want to reorder, but now they're nowhere to be found. Before the sale items disappeared, there was a full size run. I also have other items that I like but need to exchange, but may just end up returning if they can't be found, like the corduroy blazer and lace pants.

      Delete
    4. @Sarah I’m desperately hoping for a Stubbs and Wooten popback as well. There were a few after the last Flash sale, and then they disappeared in The Great Sale Purge. I’m all for them dumping the Playa bikini separates, but I sure hope I get a second chance at the loafers!

      Delete
    5. I am so annoyed by this. I sent an email back about my belt asking where they all disappeared to and got a perfunctory response that the website is able to pull from stores’ inventories, blah blah blah and literally minutes later I’m in a store with a packed sale room! Don’t lie to me!
Returned polka dot pants and left

    6. @Cheri that is frustrating.

@shopgrrrl I hope they reappear. It was be so odd for a larger ticket item like the S&W loafers to just be sold off. I really love the ones I received, and they're even comfier than I expected. Hoping they turn up for us. Which style are you looking for?

    7. @Sarah I’m after the Celebration loafers. I’m going to return my 9.5s and hope CS will price match for me if they ever pop back. I wonder if the pair I’m returning will reappear in the sale section or not?

Not sure if the jeans or tall boots will work. I hope the boots do, I love the jeans in theory but still not sure I can pull them off.

    1. The tall boots fit me well, so they may be wide in the upper shaft. They are like a tube, not fitted at the ankle. I can even wear them over my black skinny jeans. With the high heel it gives a very long leg.

    2. We shall see! My calves are thin but it depends on the proportions.

    3. P banos I tried the boots on over skinny jeans and under wide leg pleated pants. 13. I didn’t realize the jungle cat print also comes as a scarf. My VPS found 4 in stock at Rockefeller Center so I went after work to check it out. All sold out by the time I got there but the sale is 60% off with a ton of shoes, bags, earmuffs and button downs including Liberty. Lots of jungle cat shirts but only small sizes left. Saw lots of ladies taking them to try on. I ended up ordering the scarf sight unseen through the store and they honored the %off sale so it came out to be $16. Has anyone seen the scarf IRL?
Now I have the scarf.. I’m done with buying. Tomorrow will have to return a bunch of stuff and I will try to resist looking in the sale section.

    1. I considered getting the scarf instead of the shirt or pants because while I liked the print, I have no use for the silk clothing items. However, when I saw it IRL, I found the print fuzzy compared to how crisp it looked on the shirt and pants (which is to be expected given the fabrics), and I remember the cats looking much more blue/bright on the scarf? I ended up not getting it, but it might work out for you!

      Delete
    2. I ordered the scarf and bought it for $12. The print is really off. It's not the same as the shirt or the pants. It is cute for $12 but not for more than that. I am saving it for next Christmas to gift. Save your money on that one.

    3. That's how I feel about the Liberty puffer, but since it's warm i kept it anyway. OTOH my roaming tiger silk scarf is great. The print is way oversized but it looks wonderful tied around a bag or neck.

  15. I just received a ship notice on a top I forgot I ordered. It was back-ordered from last year. Stretch button-up shirt with peplum J5558. Anyone have this shirt?

My replacement Collection silk twill button-up in jungle cat print, shipped in a small box as I requested since the last one had crushed buttons all inside the bag. So if you order with a live person, requesting shipping in a box for silk shirts, or any item that has embellishments, is a possibility. I know a lot of people complain about the state of silk shirts in mailer bags.

I have that white peplum shirt and wish it comes in more colors! The trio of mandarin collar, hidden buttons, and subdued peplum is a change of pace from the typical collared shirt. I hope you love it!

    3. Hi Namora, I'd say it is between a Perfect Shirt and a Boy Shirt in fit. If you have wide shoulders go with the Perfect Shirt size, if you have sloped shoulders you could go with your smaller size.

I removed as much as I could but it literally doesn't end. I had to post another pic separately and tried to tag the buyer. 18. Got my order.

Billie crop flares with shadow patch stars. I like but do not love either size, longer length is better but they slide down in larger size. I think considering the number of black jeans and bottoms I own these have to go back. Cute novelty item and perfectly fine for the sale price.

Tall boots. Comfortable and really nice. Great under wide leg crop pants. A little loose on my calves to wear with skirts and ok over skinny jeans if that's still a look. I tried with jeans and a blazer and it's definitely kind of fierce. For the price I'd sooner keep these boots than the jeans.

And much thanks to Ina for locating the red boots, I called a Boston store and they'll be delivered soon! The assoc told me they were just returned. She said they look "pretty new." Fingers crossed.

    4. Hooray for red boots! Perfect for your colors.

Glad the black ones work for you - I plan to wear them with skinny jeans for the Emma Peale - Avengers look. And with cropped pants for the Captain Jack Sparrow look. With my muscular calves they also work with skirts and my sweater dress.

    9. Also, threw on the tall black boots at the last minute tonight, wearing my Everlane sweater and Madewell coated jeans. Took pics but they're not great because of the lighting so late, but I think this is a fun easy way to wear them, they were comfortable enough to walk a few blocks, and uh, heeled boots are much more practical in the winter than heels! Duh!

  19. Last of my orders came in yesterday:
Few cotton shirts for my daughter.... she loves them all.... she is into plain black and grey... 2 of them tie in the front.
Pajama top stripe red to match pants from earlier in the week.
Happy days T-shirt j7860- finally found xxs... it’s super cute and has a French feel to it
CaShmere contrast scarf in lavender it was only $23.... nice thick quality.... not sure if I will keep... just ordered banana republic cashmere infinity scarf... so will see
Silk Blythe shirt in charcoal it was $27... it’s very nice I have the lighter color already. It will serve well through out the year alone and under sweaters/blazer.... keeeper
Got ivy shale in size 2.... but keeping the zero.
I wore it to work yesterday under grey double faced cashmere top( from 2011... item 03846) with grey wool marries with the shirt peaking out.... got lots of compliments. The shirt looks great with grey!!!
Also got a pop back.... merino wool sweater blazer in grey... Petite small. But it’s too big. I have petite xs which I love.... was thinking of having a back up... but will return, even though it was only $23

Doing returns on Monday..... have a whole bag... probably like 200-300 worth.... happy not keeping lots of stuff
But happy to pick up special peices, I am only keeping things I love.... no more settling and posts using...lol

  20. I made my returns this morning to Rockefeller Center, nearly $300 worth. When I have a huge return like that I try to go right when the store opens so the registers aren’t busy. When I got there a woman before me has the same idea. And while they were processing mine, another woman with a DUFFEL bag of returns came. The sale section at Rockeller is already packed. Now that everyone is receiving the last of their orders from the flash sales, everyone’s doing their returns this week!

    2. @p - my take is, until they have accurate product descriptions and predictable fit models, no one should feel bad about returning!

    3. I mean I understand the feeling, I call it the walk of shame, but I don't really feel bad because in my opinion, until I get a garment home in natural lighting and see how it works with other pieces, it's not really possible to guarantee it will work.

    2. I checked the racks when I was at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s yesterday, just in case. No sign of any J.Crew sale merchandise. Doesn’t J.Crew have a tent sale or sample sale periodically? Maybe that’s the destination.

  22. One more item I'm returning..the The Reeds X J.Crew featherweight mockneck sweater. If anyone wants a size small. Went to wear it tonight and the fit just doesn't work. It's tight across my (small) chest and (wide) upper back and arms but too loose around the hips so it just hangs away from my body and it can't be tucked. If you're straighter or had wider hips it would work. It's such a pretty pattern, I'm disappointed but don't want to keep what doesn't work.

At this point I'm pretty much living in my Everlane chunky sweater.

  23. Are you all ready for story time? I received an order of jeans, as well as y "mystery" order, with the "update product description" item and the Joelle blouse popback. The mystery item was a twisty strap New Balance Tank that I didn't even bother to try on as it was sheer and I couldn't make out head from arm holes. The Joelle blouse was pretty dusty but after a quick lint roll, was pristine other than a few wrinkles that should steam right out. YOU GUYS. IT IS FROM SPRING 2008!!!!!!!!!! Where was it hiding?!?!?! It fits but sadly is meant for someone less busty than me...I'm tempted to keep it just for the history, but I've put it in my Poshmark closet and I want one of you all to have it because I know you'll appreciate it. Check it out, my closet is aly2004aly.

Now, onto the jeans. I ordered 2 sizes of the 9 inch high rise jegging in blue indigo. 26, my usual size, and 27. The 26 pair looks like a child's thing and I could barely get them mid thigh. The 27 fits okay to a little loose. Holding them up one on top of the other, there is about a 3.5" difference in the waist band radius. It is COMICAL to think that they are just one size apart. Looking closer, they both have the same style number of J4762 on both the paper hanging sales tags and the internal cloth white tags with care instructions. The tts 27s are from Summer '18 and the waistband tag is white and has the J. Crew script logo. The interior knit on these is an odd tan color, the rivets are a dark bronze. The laughably small 26 pair is from Holiday '18, the interior knit is white, the rivets are copper, the waistband tag is navy and has a J. Crew/Jeans block lettering logo, and there is a paper tag on the front describing them as a 9" high rise toothpick. THESE ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PANTS with the same style number. WTF? I am mystified.

  25. Please tell me I'm not alone in really holding back from "not shopping" this weekend to at least TRY #nsf. I don't count the red boots because I ordered them weeks ago.
    What I didn't buy: 😂
-Leggings from the gap. Got two pairs I LOVE and they're reasonable plus I have rewards but there's always a rotating promo so I decided to wait.
-chunky sweaters from Everlane. So...the crewneck I was going to buy is only 21 inches long. That's so short! I contemplating buying a second of the chunky wool turtleneck I love so much, in a size up, but I'll hold off and make sure it doesn't pull badly,

I do have a small pile of Jcrew returns.

Yes, I feel like I'm going through withdrawal. Between that and the fact that I'm continuing Dry January into Dry February...it's really no wonder. I have no vices left.

    1. GAP always has things going on sale. Plus they do free shipping periodically if you wait. I buy my workout leggings from Old Navy when they are on sale. Not sports bras though, I have a lot of the New Balance ones from both J Crew and Factory.

I want to see pictures of your black boots!

I don't drink and haven't been shopping lately, but I have plenty of vices left. One related to candy, another to my sarcastic "wit".

    2. @SuzHas, I’m finding it hard too and we’re just starting Feb! I have a few things in transit from last month that I didn’t even need so I’m trying to be strong. I had ordered the parke velvet blazer in the rose color in a moment of weakness during the big sale, it hasn’t arrived yet but I’m kind of kicking myself.
All of a sudden I’m obsessed with buying hand cream and wanting a new body scrub as my skin is so dry. Wondering if I should count that as shopping or if my nsf will only be clothes.

    3. P banos I get free shipping with the gap credit card. I haven't loved my old navy leggings and I work out every day so they're always in use. Styles and fabrics are always changing though.

I don't eat candy. I really minimize sugar consumption so aside from some really dark chocolate and chocolate almond milk in my smoothies, I really have no vices unless you count the occasional gluten free pizza and corn tortilla chips. I'm seriously no fun.

The pics of the black boots didn't come out great because it was so dark but I can DM you. I'll def wear again.

Going to my parents today. Will help my mom with some organizing in her basement so I may not even change out of my yoga clothes. I tried to take a pic before I got dressed for yoga but the sun was streaming in too much light, can't win! 😂

    4. I wouldn't go in my Mom's basement without full Hazmat gear. But I did clean her house before I went in for my last surgery. Now I need to get back over there and do it again!

There are Saturdays when I get up and put on my gym clothes, then don't go to the gym until late afternoon. Then after my workout it seems silly to get dressed just to go home, so I put on clean leggings and a sweater and that's it for the day. But of course I have a large selection of gym clothes! My favorite long sleeve tops are the New Balance ones from Factory - I just looked - Factory has no New Balance stuff anymore. Well, good thing I bought 4 when they were on sale.

    5. P banos, I often just stay in my gym clothes if I am at home and do t have much going on, but I'm trying to make myself get dressed more because it feels good, I told my mom I'm coming in sweats and no makeup and she's the same today, it's not glamorous but she has given away baby stuff new with tags to neighbors and various charities, and now we will try to get more boxes and bags ready. .

I just sold something really big on Poshmark, a gorgeous expensive coat I don't wear anymore. So not everyone is participating in #frugalfebruary. (Someone alerted me to a NY times article about this.). Thankfully the extent of my shopping hasn't put me in debt but I still want to be more conscious this month.

BTW I sent the pic via DM On IG.

Make sure you have enough good fat in your diet in the winter, it helps your skin from the inside. Avacados, oily fish, walnuts...

    10. Jan, I keep a jar of coconut oil in my bathroom along with other oils like sweet almond, jojoba and a few drops of essential oils and mix up some blends I slather on my feet and cuticles/hands at night. Inexpensive and last a long time, although not exactly glamorous.

      Delete
    11. Is that true about fats during the winter!? I have been extremely dry this winter and I thought it was because my apartment heat was drier than usual. I haven’t been very good about eating nuts or fatty fish lately. Do omega 3s not help?

You guys have a lot of discipline when it comes to working out and eating well. I don’t drink, so i consider shopping and occasional nice dinners as my vices, so NSF and being on a diet right now is like a double whammy of sadness.

      Delete
    12. I'm not a believer in low fat, you need to have good fats. Even when I eat yogurt I try to buy whole fat plain yogurt. It's sugar that's really bad and fats like vegetable oil, corn oil and margarine are not good. So I never do low fat.
I try to eat real food. Or at least food with real ingredients.

I try to mostly be healthy so when I really want to eat a GF Pizza or grilled shrimp nachos I don't feel bad. 😂

      Delete
    13. I don't drink either. I do feel like not doing girls night out/dinners leaves me more money for J. Crew.

I'm not a big eater, but I take Barleans flax oil and their fish oil every morning and am all about moisturizing every bit of my skin every time it gets wet.

  26. I keep waiting for all of the sale items to reappear so I can exchange my peplum leather jacket for a size 2 or 4. Where did that stuff go? Has anyone seen one in a store? I have an 11 week old baby so it's hard to get out of the house. Hoping to get one shipped from somewhere :)

I ended up keeping the striped rugby shirt in green $16, velour lined hoodie in gray $24, short sleeve perfect tee in navy $8, One shoulder striped swim suit in navy $12, high rise denim shorts in white $15, and a calf hair belt $19. Sized up one size in everything since I still have 6 lbs of baby weight. I also got the light pink harper zip wallet $35, dopp kit $32, and mini dopp kit $20.

I am returning the sherpa toggle coat (too big in usual XS) and lodge coat in gray (shoulders slightly snug in usual size 2 and I don't need any more wool coats in Georgia).

Other than exchanging the leather jacket (hopefully), I am done shopping for a while :)

    6. First the SA told me they were $198 and half off, then I lied (I feel bad I lied, truly) and said the 1800 number told me they were on sale for $129.99, which they were when I purchased them. She offered to call, and I said only if you’re not too busy. I do understand what it’s like when the store is busy and many times when I was at work, we were simply too busy to check online prices for sale charge sends. I offered to call back but the lovely SA insisted it was no problem...and came back and said they were on sale for $89.99 minus the 60%! So since they’ve gone missing from the website they’ve been further reduced!
It was a shopping day I won’t soon forget.

  30. Vancouver stores at 50% off sale this weekend. Women's online sale section still holding at a low 364 in Canada. Tried searching the website by item number for a sale item which I had stalked with a full size run during the "Flashening" as the FMF reddit sub calls the great online sale. Search now comes back with the usual "We're sorry. This item has been so popular, it has sold out." - so they do not appear to have pulled back the missing sale items into regular online inventory. Though it seems some items like red cap toe boots and snakeskin belts can be hunted down by search of store inventories!. Love to read of JCA's helping each other out to track down those unicorn pieces.
My idle sunday afternoon browsing of the Reddit frugal male fashion thread showed people hunting down that extra pair of Ludlow pants or additional sale suit, and a pervading air of bewilderment. "what has JCrew done to us?"
Perhaps they have had to sell off a warehouse full of past seasons and sale inventory to the TJMaxx's of the world to raise money for an interest instalment on debt. Or are they stepping up in support those of us who feel the need for a #nsf after Xmas and the Flashening frenzy? I should be doing nsf but now am hooked on checking the website each morning to see if the vanishing sale items have miraculously re-appeared. Even if I don't need or truly want any of them.

    1. I am doing the same! Although there is nothing I'm stalking or feel I missed out on, I don't want to miss sale coming back. Part of me does feel like it will. And my boyfriend is enjoying his $5 flannels and my son is enjoying his $4 gloves. I'd gladly scoop up more bargains like those.
