  1. Happy Valentine's Day, JCAs! You can see some new stuff if you search "preorder" (as well as terms like "gingham" and "eyelet"). Early access link doesn't have any items yet.

    2. I bit. The liberty shirt in shepardly print. I like the bright blue of the popover one but I'm not sure about the print. I want to think about that a little more.

    3. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone. Silver_lining, you must have missed my post earlier yesterday and early last night about viewing the new items. Nice to see some new old colors back. I do like some of the items which are available and looking forward to more. The Liberty Floral Shepardly Print blouse is arriving tomorrow already as I preordered a few days ago. Having a little buyer’s remorse in this one as it’s looking a little bland.

    4. @Miss JR, I feel the same about the blue print. In the previews it showed a skirt.

    5. I like the gingham and eyelet Jackies. The only colour in the eyelet that would work for me is navy and I don’t think the detailing shows up very well in such a dark knit so will just admire it from afar.

  2. Most of the new things are included in the 30% off. There are some new things in most of the categories under the Woman's header.

  3. There's a new striped sweater that comes in ivory navy and red pink. It's a cotton nylon blend. I could actually use a black and white stripe as I gave mine to my daughter, or a solid ivory.
I'm guessing there has to be a reason to add the nylon because even Everlanes new cotton sweaters have a nylon blend. I've been searching for a chunky cotton sweater in ivory and the only one I found, from the Gap, arrived Dirty and shrunken. (I have the same in red). I'm tempted to reorder the Gap one but of course it's now ten dollars more than it was.

    1. I you call, Gap CS will very likely honor the price you paid on an item that you were forced to return and was sold out.

    2. 2nd p, was just going to say that. I have always had good experiences the handful of times I've contacted them over the years.

    3. Thanks ladies. I might try that. I keep thinking how difffuclt can it be to find this type of sweater...it's proving more difficult than I'd expect.

    4. My observation about cotton/nylon blends is it is for cost concerns. it is not just material cheaper. Also, defective rate during making and handling of cotton/nylon blend sweaters/cardigans is lower as 100 % cotton yarn is delicate, easier to break. I personally do not like cotton/nylon cargigans. They are easier to have wear signs as nylon thread is easy to be pulled.

  4. For any of you that like Factory cashmere there is a one day sale for $50.00.

  5. Big "love" to J Crew customer service. I left a review for the coral tartan flannel shirt (K3742) where I groused about the horrible fabric ( it is very thin and pilled up like crazy after 1st wash, 3 washes in and it's truly awful). This shirt has such gorgeous colors and I'm mad it's basically unwearable now and JC ruined a good thing with crappy fabric. Anyway, I got an email from CS and an offer to return the item for store credit (think I paid $45 ish), even though it is worn/washed. That was nice, I truly do appreciate that. Thanks J Crew.

    1. Same situation here, Julie. Mine only made it through one wash before I emailed. I was so sad; the colors were fantastic.

    2. I have a nice CS story too. I ordered a pair of Evie pumps last September. I've only worn once because winter came, and they are really styled for warmer weather. When I did wear them my right foot always hurt! Today I tried them on with a new dress and I realized that the right shoe was 1/2 size smaller than the left. I should always check that! Anyway I emailed CS just to make a comment about checking sizes. The associate offered to either let me return them for a full credit or refund me 50%. I feel bad returning since they would go in the trash, and they only cost $18.99 in the first place. So I will take the refund. Means I got a cute but mismatched pair of shoes for $9.50

  6. I bought a black tippi today with the 30% off plus 10% code and $10 rewards. I spent about $40. Should I have waited for a better deal? I don't generally see good discounts on the traditional colors...Thoughts?

    1. I should add that I checked posh and ebay and didn't like what I saw/can't really trust anything that is in good condition because follow ups always admit there is "some" pilling...

    2. Hi Lauren - I think you did alright...that's about what I spent on the neutral Tippis over the years. The seasonal colors you could probably get more like $25. Definitely check and make sure it's 100% merino when you get it - I'm sure it will be, but I have a nagging feeling that they'll eventually try to sneak that cotton/poly/wool blend into some of their classic sweaters as a cost-cutting measure.

    3. Is the additional 10% off code something J Crew sent you in an email? Just checked my J Crew Rewards and I'm not seeing anything there. Curious because I want to order a few new things and the extra discount would be nice.

    4. Sorry for hijacking this... How do you wash your Tippi? Do you just dry clean? I tend to be lazy and wash it on delicate, lay flat to dry but they come out iinda "rough".

      Delete
    5. I hand wash all my merino sweaters, spin the water out in the washing machine and dry flat. Once the sweaters are dry, I press them with a hot iron. Good as new!

      Delete
    6. @Lauren - I agree with silver_lining. That seems like a fair price for the black.

@RogueXgirl - I hand wash all my wool and cashmere sweaters. I avoid dry cleaning chemicals as much as possible. For cotton and heavier wool knits, I usually machine wash on delicate in a lingerie bag. I take it out before the end of the spin cycle, if it’s a more delicate sweater. The agitation and spin cycle can be hard on knits. If it looks a little wonky after drying flat, I touch it up with my steamer or steam iron with a press cloth.

    7. I hand wash my tippis since they’re on the thin side, and lay flat on a rack to dry. I barely wring them out - they’re just so thin I worry about stretching them unevenly.

      Delete
    8. I think that's a great price for black and agree with silver_lining on checking the fabric content.

    9. Thank you shopalot, Jeanne and eeps. I'll try using a steamer/ steam iron to see if it can bring my Tippis back to life!

  7. The in-store sale that was $19.99 last week is now all $9.99! The extra 30% off is still applied with 3+ items. My sale section was pretty picked over, but managed to find a few things - at $7 hard to resist.

    1. Saw the same promotion at my store. Picked up a number of things under the promotion, including the reddish-orange cable-knit The Reeds sweater (K3546) and the tiered Ratti print mini skirt (J0118). I was chatting with the SA, and he mentioned that the company is drowning in sale stock and is trying push out as much as possible to clear inventory. He said some stores will be running the promotion longer than others based on how much stock they're holding.

    3. I've been waiting for a Tall 8 Daphne coat to reappear but maybe that won't happen with so much sale stuff disappearing from the website. I wonder where tall and petite clothes went since those sizes are never in stores. In addition to that, what about the sales of those pillows that the CEO from Wayfair seemed to think was a good idea?

      Delete
    4. @ST I tried asking a sales associate in my store if I could order a $9.99 sale item in a Tall that was in stock online and get it price matched, but she said no.

Even the stuff that got moved to Nordstrom Rack excludes tall sizes, so no clue where it all goes!

  9. I saw the extra sale and went about 5pm.
A lot picked over but for $7 I got a gray pompom sweater, the offwhite fair isle with the red yellow and blue pattern, the point Sur cotton sweater in black, a random stewart plaid button down slim fit but in a larger size, gray chinos that are too big but great for summer when I love slouchy pants (I was wondering how these would look sized up and I love them, although one size up would prob,be perfect, two is a lot!) and a nice belt.

    1. Shoes were basically all gone except the blue tweed with the silver bow. Adorable but I don't need them!

Oh and I tried on a resume dress and a tweed dress. Both looked good but I don't need them. Kind of stupid because I mean how ca you,go wrong for the price, but any place I'd wear a conservative dress like that I could wear black pants which I prefer.

    4. @Suz Has, I have the fair isle from the 19.99 sale and I've been wearing it as my house sweater (we keep the house at 60). It is very very warm and looks great with jeans. Surprised there was so much left. I'd go back, but unless they added a lot, Bridgewater was sold out. My stepkids love my clothing packages! They both scored from the sale already.

    5. @suz are the tweed shoes item J8237? And what store was this? I’ve been wanting these shoes, so TIA for the info.

    6. @Anthro Blogger - I saw them (J8237) at the Chicago Southport store. Might have sold since I was there, but worth a call!

    7. @Anthro Blogger, Portland, OR Pioneer square has a few sizes of the blue tweed flats at $9.99, definitely a 7.5 and an 8. They run large in my opinion. I also stopped by for the $9.99 sale but left with nothing. I was hoping the leopard burnout skirt would still be there, but it must have sold out. They had a few silk jungle cat shirts but they were not included in the red line sale.

      Delete
    8. They are also in stock online in a lot of sizes. If you call CS and say you saw them in-store for X amount they will price match for you.

    9. Alyssa, Short Hills had the velvet leopard burnout skirt. I didn't spcheck sizes but there were several in the rack.

Anthro Blogger. They had the shoes in a 9 (slightly loose on my 8.5/9 foot) and a 5.5 I think. Maybe an 8 also.

    10. P banos, since I've been dressing for yoga everyday I decided why not wear cute sweaters with my black leggings and sperry or Nordic boots/sneakers, etc instead of just my NB zip sweatshirts. So for the price I'm thrilled.

    11. Suz Has, good for you! I've been working from home and will for at least another week, but I try to get dressed every day. I've worn my two J Crew sweater dresses (one last year, one super sale) with tights, plus my two new heavy sweaters with jeans. But I usually get up, work an hour in my pj's, then put on my running clothes and work until lunch when I run. Then I get dressed for 1/2 day I guess.

  10. Has anyone purchased the Point Sur Cropped Wide Leg Pants? Opinion and sizing appreciated. I trust reviews here. Thanks

    1. I just received the Point Sur Wide Leg Full Length pants. I ordered a 2T my usual JCrew size and I find them a bit snug around my hips/thighs. The fabric is fairly stretchy, so they fit but not in a way I find flattering. If I look closely at the photos (there are some on Insta of the cropped pants) I see the same fit issue on all but the thinnest models. So I would size up. I'm not going to exchange mine, just return. They are too short even in Tall, and the thigh issue bugs me. But then, I have large thighs relative to my hips and waist due to all the running and weightlifting. A person with slim legs would probably have a different result. I have the very similar Point Sur cropped jeans with patch pockets in my larger size and like them, but that is a much heavier stiffer fabric. Plus I did size up to a 4 in the denim.

    2. Thanks p, I didn’t see your reply. Always appreciate the details you post, so very helpful. I ordered before I saw your post so it will be interesting to see how they fit on me. Regular size, “”skinny Lynnie” legs as I was called and bullied in school years ago.

    3. Let us know how they work on you. Always interesting to see how much our shapes vary, guess that's the big challenge in ready-made clothing.
