Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Creaw this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. If you haven't checked, code TODAYONLY give you 60% off sale and 50% off select "cold weather" items.

    1. There really needs to be an update to the sale section. Not many items and everything I click on shows as sold out.

    2. I was interested in the Marled Crewneck (item H9515) from the "Cold Weather" items section, but it is sold out in most sizes. I wonder if in-store (Canada) will honour the on-line promo.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried the Ruffle Chino Jacket (Item #G7578). I'm drawn to it, but I can't tell if I'm just desperate for non-winter ideas. I'm thinking it might be a denim-jacket alternative?

    3. If you're on IG a bunch of JCAs have worn that jacket. Today @francesayme shows it in a pic. It's very cute. I like the black version which just came out.

    4. @Suz, thank you, you're such a wealth of information! Jacket looks cute on her! I worry that there may be too many pockets to be flattering on me, but seems worth a try. I can't pull up a close up image of the black version (site problems), but it seems to have a cleaner front, which is nice!

    5. I have the chino jacket and love it. I'm hoping to get more wear out of it this spring as I didn't purchase it until September this past year. I like that the bottom ruffle isn't cotton and keeps it's pretty drape. Looks great as styled with distressed jeans (I wore with the camo tippi) and styled for work I wore it with black skinny pants, red flats and a polka dot tee. Photos on my IG @fablifeforever you'll have to scroll down about 20 rows or so.

    6. Hi Ann, thank you for sharing your IG -- you look great, and I love how you've styled the jacket in both pics! I don't know why I never noticed this piece before, sounds like it was a popular one, and I'm lucky that it's back (and on sale!).

    7. @Suz, thanks! I thought that jacket was so cute, but passed and wish I had it. However, black would be even better. Now I know :)

  2. This post is called The One(s) That Got Away.

Had a number of goodies in my cart at one point or another, needless to say, all amazing, deals, but they kept disappearing before I could check out -- happy for whoever was able to snatch them! (A select few items popped up around 10 p.m. PST, but there wasn't a major restock at any point)

Elusive finds that slipped away included: Collection topcoat in camel hair, Collection wrap coat in herringbone, Wintress puffer, Cashmere heart beanie, and a petite Lodge coat. Goodness knows I didn't need all that outerwear anyway, but I was so excited! (particularly since I've been hoarding my 15% coupon to use on the camel hair topcoat...if it ever came back)

I took screenshots of all OOS items in my cart. Hopefully, if I'm able to find them again, CS might honour the price :)

    1. i'm surprised that the site isn't set up to "hold" your item in the cart for a certain amount of time... allowing you to actually check out.

    2. Miss JR, that would be amazing...or even if there was a 1-click option, so that you could check out on an item right away. But this is the J. Crew site...getting to load your cart at all is a feat in itself!

    3. I had the same issue with apthe Wintress puffer last week and kept checking back. It showed up again and I ordered ASAP! I have another down coat (similar to Canada goose but another brand) that I adore and it was def more of an investment piece, but sometimes it's too much. I like that the Wintress puffer now has the gold snaps like the excursion vest, too.

    4. Sorry :/ I suggested last week on a post-chat survey that items be briefly ‘reserved’ so they don’t sell out while we check out. With all JC is dealing with, not holding my breath-but it would be nice. As Suz said, items do randomly pop back-good luck! Another vote for the wintress puffer here, too-I’ve gotten lots of daily wear out of mine, and it’s holding up well.

    5. Glad to hear the Wintress Puffer is a great pick! I almost had good news to report -- I had one in my cart, and was checking out...but too slow once again! I'll keep checking, thanks for the encouragement :)

    6. I bought the wintress puffer in a moment of weakness last week and am happy it has now shipped. I hope it doesn't smell as some reviews have mentioned that. We just had another big snow storm so I'm sure I'll get lots of use out of it. Wendy, glad to hear your positive review!
@R, good luck on finding a popback, I've def seen some the past few days.

    7. @R, dude, what a saga! Hahhaha! I feel like the sales section will grow tonight after the promo ends...perhaps the promo will be extended!

    8. Conclusion: just after midnight (9 p.m. PST), a NAVY wintress popped up, and not final sale. Free shipping to Canada, and I was still able to use the 60% promo code! My final price was $62 (which is about $50 USD)! I'm not 100% sure if I'll love it in navy, but I look forward to trying it!

  3. has everyone been having luck with getting PA's ?
is it better to email/ or call CS? Will pa's only apply if item are still available in your ordered size? thanks.

    1. Chat or calling are your faster options, especially if that particular item shows limited stock. I have never emailed because response time is usually 24hrs...

I do believe pas only apply if the item in question is still available in the size you purchased. But I have read in a few places on here that CS will even honor screen caps of items that were available in your purchased size but have since sold out.

    2. I received price adjustments today on items that had sold out; I called. I was delighted, I had thought the policy was for in stock items too.

    3. I did as well....nice CS today.

    4. Curious about this...is everyone requesting PAs on purchases made within the last week, for the additional 10% off? Or are you just making requests on items that have been further reduced (before additional discounts)? Thanks!

      Delete
    5. I'm usually requesting an adjustment of the sale percentage but if I know something has received an additional markdown I will request that as well.

      Delete
    6. I ask for pas when the purchase price for my order is lower due to one of three scenarios:
      1) new markdown while % off remains the same
      2) larger % off while price remains the same
      3) new markdown + larger % off (best case scenario woo!)

      :)

    7. I've always received a PA by email, and never had an issue when my size is out of stock. I only email when the item is still available, but don't think CS necessarily checks as they've never told me no and with this current sale I'm sure my item was gone by the time they got to the message. They even applied the birthday $25 coupon I had used for the original order after the PA was calculated. This meant CS credited my card $35 on a $44 order.

    8. Thanks all! I just sent of my PA request via email. I can just imagine the CS agent rolling their eyes when they see the number of orders I've requested an adjustment on!

    9. I called for my PA’s and the CS associate wasn’t the most helpful. She told me she couldn’t figure out the original price to make the adjustment because the item had sold out. I responded that didn’t make sense given that a 60% off sale was occurring. Of course things are going to sell out. I then went on to patiently explain that this required just a little bit of math and I could help with that. She originally was hesitant, but after it took her 15 minutes to figure out one adjustment, and I explained there were 20 more orders (an exaggeration, but she got the point), she accepted my help.

    10. @Mygoddy and everyone else here. My Supergirl in San Antonio took care of everything immediately via email as I knew she would be slammed with phone calls. Gave price adjustments and backdated for items purchased a couple of weeks ago and then some. Always overnights items or 3 day shipping. Excellent at multitasking; if she’s on the phone with a customer responds nearly immediately. Found items that weren’t showing availability during the sale. She had at least 15 orders from me to PA and then another additional 5. I posted her contact details on another thread recently and will repost if you would like her info.

    2. I also enjoyed the part about trying to recall a day where we paid full price for stuff in fear that it would sell out. I do recall those days and also when an additional % sale was few and far between.

      Delete
    3. I *know* I used to pay a lot more for my J.Crew purchases, but I also made far fewer of them as a result. I definitely spend a lot more money with them overall now, but I never need something so badly that I can’t wait for a sale.

    4. Oh my goodness that was so well written, I felt compelled to save it, just for hitting every damn nail on the head! I live in another such suburban town in the Midwest, where polo and plaid are the uniform and range rovers and Maseratis are routinely in the pick up lines at school. Have been wondering if my store is closing - it looks godawful, and all the savvy old stylists and SAs have long since left (some indeed to start their private styling businesses). This article was just too perfect!

  6. Missed my coat because the website died right in the middle of my checkout... Ugh! Oh well, a few $$$ saved for the next round. JC, WHERE IS THE UPDATE???

    ReplyDelete
  7. Seems like sporadic updates occurred throughout the day (or my mobile site was acting up which is equally likely). I picked up the ribbed shawl cardigan for $25, flamingo tee for $8, and drapey wrap front top for $6. The first item I did ship to store and the second two I couldnt pick that option. Somehow after trying to do that I was allowed to ship to my house for free even though my total was much less than the $150 min. Maybe a new policy or again another website glitch? Wish there had been a larger update today but am happy with what I got.

  8. I did score the ribbed cashmere turtleneck in black yesterday and it shipped! I'm very excited about getting this for less than $100, I had been contemplating the camel and kept hesitating based on the cost but I'll settle for black for the price. This sweater has great reviews and hoping it lives up to the reviews.

    1. Great score! I bought the black earlier this year and love it (although I haven't washed yet). It does seem to be worth all the five star reviews! I also was hoping for the camel and maybe we'll get lucky yet.

    2. That turtleneck is beautiful! What a great price, hope you love it!

  9. I shockingly haven't ordered anything today, but I did receive the first two packages from when the 50% off started. I received the cocoon coat in heather peony which is a nice bright pink (more saturated than I thought) and the same size as my two year old cocoon coat was the right size (thank you jcas for helping with sizing!). I agree with some reviews that the pocket placement isn't ideal and I think it's a little less nice than my older one but it's beautiful overall and a really great price so I'm happy!
I also received the black watch tartan shirt and love it. I had tried the 0 (the smaller of my shirt sizes) in store but it was a tad tight in the shoulders so I ordered a 2 and it fits well. I'm small chested, I think if you have a larger bust you'd def need to size up.
