Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

    1. I don't know if anybody notice this, but J.Crew has added a video with multiple models (see on more body types: a model who is 5'9 wearing small, 5'10 wearing medium, and 5'11 wearing a extra large) to see the actual fit of the clothing. I like this added future and hopefully they’re added on the new merchandise!

    3. Wow, kudos to J.Crew for doing this.

    4. I love when websites do that, but I'd like to see even more of a variety of different heights and shapes featured.

    5. I didn't see a video but I definitely noticed that the jeans are being modeled by bigger sized people now.

  2. Does anyone have any advice on sizing for the Metallic Strappy Sandals (h1887)? There aren't any reviews for it (probably because it's an online-only item that no one really seems to have ordered before it was marked down), and the reviews for the next closest shoe models (G4493 and G0984) say those versions fit small and to size up, but I'm not sure how applicable those are to the gold leather ones. It's final sale, so I'd rather not order two sizes, but I also don't want to end up with a pair that's too small or too short, for that price.

    1. Explain the situation to CS and ask them to waive final sale. Usually, they’re very helpful. Good luck!

  3. Does anyone have an international promo code that will work for Australia please? The price is positively prohibitive on the AU site but the cocoon coat has my name all over it. Many thanks!

    1. Hi Brady, I don’t have any int’l codes to offer.

Do you have any relatives in the US? Maybe they may be able to acquire the coat for you to pick up on your next visit to the States?

    2. Thanks Namora, I often use a mail forwarding service but the cost for shipping often negates the saving, even when buying from the U.S. site. Shipping to AU is only $7. Thanks for your reply!

  4. Yesterday I received an OOS email for one of the secret sale items I ordered this week. It was a Campbell blazer, so I’m sure glad I didn’t go ahead and order the pants when they popped back the next day. Still no shipping notice(s) for any of the other items.

    1. I received two "update: your order is on schedule" e-mails overnight. Isn't that usually a predecessor to the "we wish we had enough" e-mail? I hope not, but from past experience it seems that the longer they wait to box up my order the more likely they are to "lose" things.

I had terrible insomnia last night (too much caffeine) which lead to me bagging several popups I've been stalking, including the rugby striped tee, celestial sweatshirt, cat print tippi and sequined flowers tippi and pink vintage plaid shorts. Hopefully they ship.

    2. I have been slowly getting shipping notices for the orders I placed on Tuesday. It seems like I will be getting a bunch of packages as each item is shipping separately.

      Delete
    3. @Jeanne I’ve received that notice too and all of my orders have shipped. You found some great items last night.

    4. @Jeanne Wow What popbacks! I got a your order is on schedule email and then a your order shipped email shortly after so fingers crossed.

    5. I hope the your order is on schedule email is a good sign--I'm waiting for the cat print tippi, too :)

    6. When I got the “on schedule” email last week, I logged into UPS My Choice and saw that a shipping label has been created but not yet picked up by UPS. To me that was a good sign (i.e. they found the item and packed it up). Sure enough the item shipped within a day.

    7. Just received a shipping confirmation for the rest of my items from Tuesday.

    8. I'm happy to report that everything shipped today except the items I ordered last night and part of the previous order. I'm most excited about two 1999 merino wool funnelneck sweaters in ivory and periwinkle and a third one in navy and ivory striped. Yes, I went overboard with the style, so I hope I like them and they're not too large. I've been looking at them since they first came out, thinking they'd be so warm and cozy.

  6. HI Jeanne, I received 5 of those emails overnight but alas, 4 of those have now shipped! I really enjoy waking up during the night and finding things, it's the one upside to not sleeping through the night. I believe you have a great chance of getting all the items you found! Keep us posted.

    1. @Cheritheberry I’m glad to hear your orders shipped so quickly after you received the e-mails. I’m hoping mine go out today. I also have a couple things that have been sitting at UPS in Mississippi for several days due to bad weather. I’d like to see some movement there, too.

  10. With your pocket full of rewards dollars, what are you guys eyeing? Will you wait until the next roll out? I just might, as everything new is a washed out shade of blah, and everything old is picked over.

I am currently only interested in one item G7483, the eyelet ruffle mock neck top. Does anyone have this top? How is the cut, the fit, and the quality? Thank you in advance for your input!

  12. No visit for me. I am embarrassed to say I placed another order this morning for the black/white boucle lodge coat in a tall size, so we'll see if it even works. I was pleased to see it had good reviews for being warm and that's definitely important!!

As far as popbacks - the site still does seem to update early in the morning (for those EST) but I have found that they are restocking during the day and you can catch different items throughout the day (likely processing returns, etc.)

    2. I called for my three PAs on Tuesday. If you don’t have that many items, calling or chatting would be the two faster options. CS is is probably inundated with emails for PAs this week hence the delayed response.

    2. I've seen a few ppl post on IG. nothing too exciting—but I mean that in the best way! Classic crew—jeans in different washes and rises, crisp white button downs, striped shirts, a red beret, a classic trench.

I swear they must look at all our Pinterest boards. How many of us have read articles on Parisian style? Or how Parisian women pack for a weekend? I could think of several pins I saved showing very similar items. Trust me, I love it. Denim and chunky sweaters in the winter WO footwear and outerwear of choice, and denim and white button downs or striped long sleeve tees in the spring...my type of uniform dressing.

    5. I was thinking this was a brilliant move! If they want to rebuild this brand they have to have really strong basics that people will keep coming back to love. This might be their way to rebuild right now. Once they rebuild the foundation they can start incorporating fashion forward items - which they will have to figure out what those are without Jenna. I also love Parisian style. I couldn’t dress that way everyday because I love all sorts of other styles as well, but there’s nothing more classic and beautiful then a classic trench and a pop of red.

  15. Since I've returned almost everything aside from workout wear, I don't feel guilty but I placed an order first thing this AM.

Cameron slim chino pant: I haven't seen these mentioned at all, but not final sale. I sized up hoping to create a look similar to the 2011 foundry pants but less wide.

Also grabbed a pair of GOLD lace up sandals that came out last summer, almost identical to the Madewell boardwalk laceups that I have and love in three colors. I love them with shorts, skirts and jeans.

    Hope these purchases work.

Didn't see my rewards at that point. I think I'll wait it out for a bit. I'm sure something will need to be had,

  17. OT, but I've added a few coats to my Poshmark closet. I size up in coats so they range in size from 2-6. Anything I've listed is either new, NWOT or minimally worn as indicated.
I know some coats are a steal right now but I've listed some well made classics such as the J.Crew Stadium cloth boulevard trench, size 6 in charcoal gray.

    4. The blush one is really pretty in person! It's mostly suede with some leather on the side with the outer pocket. I bought the brown circle Signet because I have a bag nearly the same color and size as the blush suede circle Signet, but it's really pretty and I kind of want it anyway! I'm afraid I'll get the suede dirty though. I didn't see the colorblock one in the store but it looks super cute online. I'm just excited that J. Crew is starting to put out some handbags I like, it has been a really long time since they've made something big enough for daily use that I like.

  20. Placed an order for the Regent blazer on 11/26/17. They said it was backordered until 1/31. But I was just on the site and they're in stock in my size! Where is my order? What has happened to JC customer service? Does the Live Chat EVER work?? (I guess this was a vent!)

  21. Stopped by the Flatiron NYC store for a return and noticed a bunch of permits at the front door. Inside they created a separate area for returns and pickups only. At first I was thrilled I didn’t have to wait in the line as usual for my return but then I thought, if they have so many returns they need to create a separate register to process them faster... not a great sign. But the store pickup option must be a success, because the area had tons of packages waiting for pickups.
The store had a ton on sale (50% off final sale), possibly more than I’ve seen in a long while. Even the area normally reserved for the NBxJC collection was sale. Great news was that I found the Liberty perfect shirt in Ros that was cancelled from my order three weeks ago. This store had 3 more, size 0, 00 and 12, if anyone else had their order cancelled too.

    2. I wasn't even tempted by anything this weekend. It seems like the updates are either feast or famine, depending on the size you need.

I just wish my orders would finally arrive. I'm getting tired of waiting. UPS apparently has a huge backlog of packages in Jackson, MS. I have one package that's been sitting there for 4 days!

  23. I'm trying to convince myself I don't need the tuxedo blazer. I have quite a few black blazers, including the ludlow blazer which is similar minus the satin lapel. Since I'm wearing it with jeans most often...I really don't need it, right?

  24. Stopped in today. racks and tables that were over flowing on thurs or whenever I went this week were almost empty. Sale section was well organized, and an associate was organizing the shoes. I tried on a few but nothing came home with me. The Audrey tassel flats in suede were super cute but not comfortable on my feet, and the satin slingbacks in blush are adorable but also ran a little small.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I went in to make some returns. Store was fairly busy, sale section was robust but not overflowing. I picked up the Drapey long-sleeve tee (which is really a tunic) for $17. I'm not having immediate buyer's remorse, but that's still a little pricy for the quality I think- it's sheer and looks like it will get holes pretty easily. If it stands up to washing, I'll be pleased (as I type this, I realize what a low bar I set these days). In other quality control issues, I wore my Gemma flats in shadowbox leather out today. I've had these shoes for a year and live in a rainy climate, so I'm sure I must have worn them out when it's been wet before. But today, for some reason, although I didn't step in any notable puddles and my toes were dry, the drizzly weather made the dye on the shoes run! The white boxes are now full of navy and green swirls on the toes. I didn't notice until they had dried and nothing will remove it- I tried plain water, makeup remover, rubbing alcohol, and finally nail polish remover- and the ink stains aren't budging. They're no longer wearable to work like this. The toes were a bit scuffed but they still had plenty of wear left, and I'm frustrated that they're ruined. I mean, they're SHOES! Shoes should be able to get wet. Grumble grumble.

  26. Stopped in for ship-to-store pickups. Sale section was full but not overflowing, as others have said. Saw Tweed Averys in 8.5 and a few sale tops I know show sold out online, so inventory still not up to date online. Random sale items were shoved on the bottom level of a regular price item table; tartan pajama sets, pants, and other loungewear that wasn’t even priced, so associates probably didn’t realize where they belonged. Home now and wishing I’d taken the time to try on instore, as a couple shoe orders didn’t work, despite the low prices. Thinking I may be the problem, as I’m feeling overshopped...

    ReplyDelete
  27. I think I might be overshopped and shopped out also...and I NEVER thought I'd say that! I've tried to buy staples, rain boots, hats, scarves, dress coat, NB leggings. ALuckily for me, I have been able to return the few FS things that I splurged on but I have been afraid that my luck will run out and they will deny my returns so I quit unless it is a major YES. I did go to return the collection lavender wrap coat, sz L, which was a popback and not fs. If anyone is interested, there is a L at Chevy Chase).

  28. Can anyone help on sizing for the Liberty Shirt in Ros Floral? It is pretty much the one thing I am interested in but a few reviews said it ran small. I did try on the Catesby floral and found that that fit in my normal perfect shirt size. Any help would be much appreciated!
