  1. I received the critter cargo pants yesterday and they were a surprise hit for me. So much so that I followed Toronto Modern's lead and I already ordered a second pair of the same pants even though I haven't worn the original pair yet. I've been wanting those pants since they were first released, but I hadn't ordered them before since J.Crew chinos aren't usually a good fit for my big butt.

Also, another rave for the merino wool 1999 funnelneck sweaters. I washed two of them already (I wash everything before I wear it) and they came out even softer and fluffier and now they have the added benefit of smelling like Caldrea Sea Salt Neroli Delicate Wash (I love that stuff). I couldn't be happier with them.

And...since I was already ordering the critter cargos and the leopard sweatshirt I've been stalking...I threw caution to the wind and also ordered the ribbed turtleneck in Italian cashmere that Cobalt likes in BOTH black and camel. So...does J.Crew cut you off when you've clearly had too much, like a bartender?

    1. Hi, Jeanne! I'm honored (and slightly embarrassed) that I am the exemplar for purchasing duplicates :-) The only reason I have not gotten the critter chinos is they don't come in petite.

Another morning, another update to the sales section and more irresistible bargains i(sigh). Easy pants in lace in my size for $20 Canadian?! I said no to the pants at $40. I said no to the pants at $30, but $20?!

Anyone interested in trying the suede buckle boots might want to look at them today. The 50% off code SAVENOW worked and they weren't final sale. Based on recent experiences, it's possible that they become final sale tomorrow. Code took them to $90 Canadian. And yes, I did order them. Inventory seems to be limited. The signet tote H3880 in belvedere red is on sale, the 50% SAVENOW code works and they are not final sale (at least not today). Review says red is too orange but I bit on it.

But we all need to celebrate the small victories. I did remove the $20 gingham shirt from my basket as a way of justifying the $20 pants. And I did remove the $60 collection cashmere cardigan (boy, that was hard to do).

Thankfully, there were no star print pants in my size (at least today) to tempt me into buying a third pair...

    2. Hope you like the turtlenecks, @Jeanne! If there's a cutoff limit, I haven't reached it yet. :)

    3. Ladies, I'm happy to report that both the cargos and the turtlenecks were marked down right after I placed my order. I called first thing this morning for an adjustment and the cs rep quickly and cheerfully complied with my request.

Also, the Liberty floral cotton pajamas were marked down to $34.99 and there was one pair available in my size, so I was forced to place a 2nd order. I had no choice.

    4. Guys, there is never a limit for good cashmere!

    5. @Namora I snagged a Collection Cashmere Black open cardigan for $30.00 the other day. Arrived in perfect condition. I’m a cashmere fanatic in general and always on the lookout. Had a Neon Citrus featherweight stolen a few years ago. I was crushed for sentimental reasons and even after many VPS were continuously doing searches stores and other means I was never able to replace it. If anyone has one in L and wants to sell I will pay top dollar for it.

    6. @Jeanne, jcrew definitely does not cut you off. Signed, more orders than I care to count in the last 3 weeks

    7. If I keep seeing any Averys in my size at these prices I will keep buying them all. I don't have multiples yet, but it may well happen. I'm in love with them and don't want to move on if J.Crew ever stops making them. I could wear that heel height well into old lady hood.

    8. @Lynn, that’s a fantastic catch! Is the color Neon Citron or Neon Citrus? If you speak of the former, then I am looking at it right now in the March 2016 catalog; it was produced along with 21other colors into collection featherweight cashmere E7505 during a time when J.Crew actually utilized its famous color library...I do hope you find a replacement in the future!

    10. @Jeanne I passed on the Liberty Ros floral pjs at the higher sale price. I love floral prints (own everything from JC in the Thorpe print and LOVE every piece), but for some reason was not drawn to the Ros print. However when I saw them marked down to $34.99, I caved and ordered them. Liberty fabric so so soft and I now have the feeling the Ros pjs will become a favorite.

  2. I gave in today as well. The everyday cashmere cardigans got marked down and are $38, no final sale(today). Even if the quality is not super they will replace some old stretched out Jackie's and factory cardigans that have seen better days. Also bit on the wool pencil skirt with bows, black watch plaid dress and indigo Blythe blouse. Nothing was final sale and I used my rewards so I feel good about the purchases.

    1. Thanks for the heads up about the bow pencil skirt. With the extra 50% Off and a 15% off coupon it was a steal! Grab it now ladies while it is not final sale today.

    2. @Shopping Celle Cute/Print Pencil skirts have been so few the past few years. I felt like I needed to grab this one immediately. Hoping it fits but glad I can return as no dreaded final sale.

    3. darn it, I might need some of these cardigans. I lost my black featherweight cashmere cardigan and have been wanting a replacement. Now the question is do I also want grey and camel??

    4. Anne- Not to enable but I got black, grey, camel and poppy. Hanging head in shame, sort of. I know these are basics I will have for years and I will get my money's worth.

    5. JessF, I got the black and camel and the calf hair signet bag. I know we are always asking for bigger percentages off sale but now I just want this 50% to be over.

    6. I’m a fan of the deep discounts J Crew is offering and have found too much to love. I’ve also ordered the cashmere since I frequently wear it during fall & winter. Cashmere long sleeve tees have been a ❤️ & finally able to find heather gray on deep discount today. Also bought boyfriend everyday cashmere sweater in vivid burgundy and Italian cashmere cardigan. The cashmere on sale is a great buy.

  3. I've never ordered with Paypal before but I'm using my Ebay sales money so it "doesn't count"...Do these orders not show up in ordering history at any point, or will they appear when shipped?

    1. You mean the order history of your J.Crew account? If so, purchases made through Paypal will never show up. HTH!

    2. Thank you for your reply. That stinks! I like the history.

    3. I like the history, too, and I consult it frequently. Last month I noticed my in-store purchases were showing up in my history and I was very happy about it. But now they're gone. :(

I also wish the history went back much further. I'm still busily entering my wardrobe into Stylebook, including the brand, garment name, style number, fabric, color name, size, date purchased and price paid, if I can locate all the info. Yes, this is going to take me forever. :P

    5. Hi all, PayPal purchases CAN save to your history, if you sign in first.

When you are in your shopping bag, you have the option to select "Check out now" or "PayPal". If you select "PayPal", you will be directed to the PayPal site immediately, and this purchase will not be saved in your history.

If you select "Check out now", you will be taken to the account sign-in page, and will go through the checkout process, just like if you were paying by CC. Once at the Billing stage, you can change from your default payment (if you have one saved), and select PayPal, and then complete the purchase per normal.

When I've taken the steps as above, the PayPal purchases have saved to my account history. Hope this makes sense, and helps!

    6. R, oooh! You are right! I never sign into my account if I decide to use Paypal! :P

  5. Seeing a few new items added to sale: bow front pencil skirt, embroidered jackie, icon trench.

    1. I received an email this morning in regards to new styles added to sale section. In addition to new items some sale items also received further price cuts.

    2. Yes, I noticed some new markdowns and price reductions too. If anyone has purchased the ‘Ribbed Turtleneck in Italian Cashmere’ recently, I saw it has been reduced to $124.99.
Has anyone tried the ‘Ski babes on the Go-Go’ sweatshirt. I think it’s cute but is it too silly? It was marked down too and will be ~$15 after the 50% off.

    3. @Lauren i reviewed the sweatshirt on my IG
Just go 15 rows down and you will see it. HTH

    4. Lauren, thanks for the info on the cashmere sweaters' markdown. I've requested a PA!

    5. Ugh, the Blackwatch Plaid dress got a significant cut. I will try to reframe the $16 difference between what I paid 2 weeks ago and now as a donation that will hopefully help keep the sinking business afloat.

    6. That’s the spirit Alyssa! I’ve made a few donations myself.

  6. @Lauren ITA about the ski babes sweatshirt. It's very cute and I've seriously considered ordering it several times, but I finally concluded that it's too winter specific and kind of silly and juvenile.

    1. I've seen it in person and it looks like something I wore in the 1980s as a 9 year old. Something about the colors - the bright pink and blue.

    2. eeps!! yes my exact thoughts upon seeing that hideous thing!!!

  7. Some great prices this morning but do I need velvet and lace "easy pants?" I'm glad I went to the gym for a few hours and now they're sold out in my size.

It's hard to spend mindfully when there are such cute things so reasonably priced. I have to keep pondering each purchase.

    1. I agree Suz Has. I am mostly shopped out for winter and need to focus on a closet clean out instead. There are just a few items on my wish list still: I’m waiting for you green tweed Daphne coat size 4!

    3. I got the lace easy pants for 20 bucks..Only good with a longer top bc the pockets and crotch are horrible unflattering

    4. ^ yeah, I don't need that. I went to the store today and the only 0 was red and I almost tried it on, but then I was like, why...I have several black jeans, and a few pairs of black pants I know look good, I need to stop with the sale "goggles." Really the only time I'd wear them is out to dinner and most of the time I am perfectly comfortable in jeans, even if I dress up.

  8. I stopped myself from buying a bunch of sale items today that I certainly don't need, and instead called Madewell about the Ivan Chelsea brogue boots in gold I've been eyeing for months. They were sold out and popped back. My store said they had a pair in a size up and when I went it was a totally different shoe in a different size...but they located two sizes for me to try and had them shipped out and said I could return what doesn't work. Great service. At first I thought it was a wasted trip, but it was not at all. I hope they fit. I love a brogue style and they're not so easy to find!

  9. Hello, I just want to share my recent purchase that I got from the J.Crew store. The promotions were just really good that I couldn't stop myself from buying. I'm sharing my purchases in a video form (vlog style).
