The Mystery Sweater Sale at J.Crew

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know about the following promotion.

J.Crew is still offering customers to take an additional 30% off select regular priced sweaters and an additional 30-50% off FINAL sale items with promo code ZY3BU. This offer expires February 8, 2017. The fine print includes:
**30% discount valid on the purchase of sale items in J.Crew stores and at jcrew.com from February 6, 2017, 12:01am ET through February 8, 2017, 11:59pm ET. In-store discount as advertised. Valid online on sale items marked "Extra 30% off with code ZY3BU." Not valid in the 769 Madison Avenue, Brookfield Place, Liquor Store, Ludlow Shops, J.Crew Factory or J.Crew Mercantile stores; at jcrewfactory.com; or on phone orders. Cannot be applied to previous purchases and cannot be redeemed for cash or combined with any other offer. In-store discount taken at the register. To redeem online, enter ZY3BU in the promo code box at checkout. Limit one code per order. Valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Terms are subject to change.
This is an interesting way of rolling out the promotion. Curious if the "mystery" behind the percent off will get customers to click.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? What item are you hoping to pick up? Please share!

  1. I saw 20% off sweaters.
I took advantage of the 20% off with free shipping last week, so not tempted by this offer.

    2. I just received a sobering reminder that I need to put the brakes on (ie, my bill, boooo!), but it's so tempting sometimes. I love reading everyone's reviews and finds here, love to see what everyone likes, plus who doesn't love a good sale?! That said, we'll see what the next few weeks bring. I have to start repeating my new mantra, 'I don't need it, i don't need it, i don't need it....' :-p

    3. @TM93, I hear you! That's how I felt after the holidays when I realized how much money I had spent on myself. So I'm trying to be good now. :) looking forward to the next rollout though. I'm trying to get through atleast 2 rollouts without buying something new so I can be more choosy rather than buying then finding something I like better later on.

  3. I purchased the Tulle-hem cardigan sweater (G1250) in the dusk-buff combo last week and I love it!! It was a little shocking how much I liked it, really. :) Was not expecting to.

The Columbus Circle store (NYC) inspired me to try it on. They styled the dusk-buff colorway (pinned back, of course) with the Skinny stretch cargo pant with zippers (F9469) in sundried linen and the Charlie loafers in metallic leather (G0886) and the outfit was so cute!

I ended up trying the cardi with the pants in navy and bought them both to wear with low heels. It's so playful and feminine, I'm very much enjoying it.

    1. @Roxy Turtle, It's great to hear your excitement! It's such a treat when you find a new outfit that makes you feel great.

    2. How did you find the sizing? The navy isn't available in my normal size but maybe if it is "oversized" I can take the size down..... or go to a store I guess!

    3. It's not oversized in my opinion. It's a straight fit. Tricky over my hips, the SA at the register and I were discussing how the pinback on the store mannequin made it look curve-friendly but that wasn't necessarily the case.

I purchased in a medium and it's fine on its own, however as soon as I layer a coat over it the placket bunches up. With this cardigan I *like* the bunched up look but if you want it to lay straight and are on the curvier end of things, you may need to size up.

      I'm 34-29-39 for reference.

  4. I agree, the cardi with the tulle hem is awesome (and very anthro-esque). the length didnt work for me as i am short, but its great for average and tall ladies:)

    1. Same, I got it and had to return it, just too long and looked like a robe. Made me sad because the navy is so pretty.

  6. FYI - I saw 30% off on my computer, but store only had 25% off sweaters, and the store's mobile device only showed 20% off. I tried to log in to show them the 30% off but my mobile device only showed 20% off sweaters, so I guess this is the mystery, different devices different promo - same code????

    1. Correction it is not the same code: if you use the #3 in the code it is 30% off and the 20% off has a 2 instead.

    2. This still works today, thanks for the tip. Replace the 2 in the code with a 3 and you will get 30% off sweaters.

  8. Just got a booklet from jcrew in the mail for New Balance collab with $25 off coupons and double points for one purchase of NB on my j crew credit card.

They are trying super hard y'all.

If only this were for regular, non-NB, items.

    1. Yeah, according to a recent article, Mickey was quoted as saying something along the lines about how the company was hoping to target the athleisure market even more strongly this year so I guess that's why we're seeing such a stepped-up presence for it in catalogs and whatnot. (Seems so late in the game to do so - I'm sure most consumers already have a go-to for athletic gear. I know I do.)

A JCA just mentioned on another thread that apparently Madewell will begin to carry a line of underwear -- I think I would much rather consider buying that from JC, rather than athletic tanks. Anywho!
