  1. The Hunter Chelsea boots are on promo plus the extra 30% off, so I'm going to give them a try. I have a pair of Hunter knee boots, but they aren't as practical for me to just throw on when I need to run outside or make a quick trip to the market. They are backordered until January in my size, but I probably won't actually be wearing them until the spring anyways, since I have my Sorel winter boots for this season. However, at $80 and change on sale, they are worth getting now to try, and then putting away until the spring thaw if they work out.

  2. Some Madewell reviews if you’re looking:

Cityblock turtleneck (b0726) - Soft, felt TTS (took my usual S) and the neck did not feel like a neck brace. However, the cut was a bit too boxy for me and I didn’t love the split hem. I think that sizing down would’ve made the longer back hem too clingy.

Shawl-collar wrap cardigan (b7408) - Sold out online, but I’m sure there will be popbacks. The S felt very oversized, I’d size down in this one and it would still be cozy. The knit was interesting, but the dropped shoulders sucked and the belt and belt loops fell in an odd place. You’d need to fuss with it a little bit. Also, the knit stitching on the back (purl side, I think) looked like it might catch on things. It was warm and I think some of you will be able to rock it, but it wasn’t for me. If the shoulders weren’t dropped I would’ve exchanged it for an XS.

Aran cardigan (b4331) - This one hit the sweet spot for me. Size S felt right - not too bulky, soft, knit was interesting, buttons didn’t look too cheap. The split hem wasn’t as pronounced on this one. Keeper.

Dreamweave leggings in stripe (b7079) - Size S felt fine, but the rise was too low. I should’ve measured it - probably less than 8” if I had to guess. Too expensive for what they are. I liked that the navy stripes were kind of washed out.

  3. Argh, why'd I have to visit JCA this morning and see this? :) I decided to try the Ray Boot in burgundy since I've been looking for a semi-casual short boot like that for a very long time! Just wish I could have applied my JC rewards to the purchase.

  4. Received my Quilted mini Transport tote and really love it. I have the one in grey/black and love the pebbled leather more than the black and brown leather bags. This one is an interesting colior, a good neutral and the quilting adds a nice touch to make it a little different. With the current WRAPITUP promo a good price at $105.

Just a note, my local Madewell store was running 40% off sale items and better prices over the weekend. quilted down coat - item b4162 was $199 vs. $219 online

  5. Argh. Everytime I turn around, the sweater I bought is even cheaper, but oh well. I'd only save $6.50 this time.

Does anyone have the Favorite Cardigan? I bought it for my mom for Christmas, and I am worried about the reviews of it pilling. Thoughts? I don't have this issue with other Madewell sweaters.

  6. Urghhhh my jeans would have been at least $6 less if I had waited to order them. How annoying. Anyone know if the student discount can stack with this one?

    1. twentysomethingsimple - Student/educator discounts don't stack with the global (sitewide) promos. Email to request a price adjustment. $0.02

    2. Hold the phone. There's a Madewell student discount? I've been paying too much for two years?!

  7. IRL pic of the Madewell Easy Cable Pullover Sweater in bright ivory. Material seemed thin at first but was warm on. Runs big. Cabling throughout, front, back, and sleeves which makes it look bulky on.
