"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. Birthday codes: can't seem to use them on anything! Even contacted CS to try to apply it to a full priced shirt but they wouldn't allow it because the shirt "was excluded promo."

    1. seriously! i guess i'll wait to see if the shirt is removed from the exclusion by the end of the month, but otherwise i guess i'll buy a $25 tee shirt or something.

madewell on the other hand, no issue. insiders discount + birthday code and i got myself a new wallet.

    2. @MissJR, I hope that you had or have a wonderful birthday! Hopefully you’ll be able to apply it eventually, not much of a treat otherwise.

    3. @MissJR, I’ve never heard of this before. I suggest you call again and complain. Never had a problem using mine in the past.

  3. After looking at J crew cardigans, sweaters and jackets I’m surprised they haven’t made changes that people have complained about for years. No one looks good in shrunken jackets or sweaters unless they are a size xs and are under 18. Boxy sweaters and jackets that hit at the navel look terrible on their demographic customer. Make more in the larger sizes. Everything sells out immediately in sizes L or higher. The sales bins are full of sizes xs,

    2. Disagree. I am XS or S, not under 18 and very often my size is sold out. Body shaming goes both ways. Just stop it.

    3. I was gonna say similar. I’m not a fan of cropped boxy sweaters, but JCrew only has XXS because the sizes typically run big. When I check sale selections there is a mix of sizes. I’m fit and muscular and still wear a very small size. Women can be healthy in a range of sizes, including XXS.

  4. Has anyone had trouble with JCrew rewards? I had $10 in rewards and they disappeared and now I have only $5. I haven’t used any towards a purchase. Very frustrating as usually when I get to $15 I use and I was almost at there.
