Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Woke up to find some incredible deals this morning, the bees silk print pants for $14.00, a pair of navy leather pants for $128.00,(a gift for one of my employees) purchased the watermelon print sequin dress the other day and some other sequin items, (I adore sequins) the boy shirt in the same print, and the list goes on. Had to repurchase the Palm tee this morning VPS couldn’t make a price adjustment ($11.00) originally $25.00, slightly annoyed. Repurchased the oversized boyfriend sweater blazer for navy/pink. Shipping has been fast here to Fl. Happy shopping everyone and hope you are all well. My only gripe is they’re not doing price adjustments even for items that haven’t shipped. This is so wasteful and not cost effective for the company whatsoever. FYI free return shipping. One last thing buy the Oars tee shirts and Roma tees over on the Factory side. I purchased these a couple of weeks ago adorable, excellent quality and very soft. Size up if you want it slightly oversized.

    1. Free return shipping? For retail JCrew?

    2. Yes if it doesn’t fit or defective of course. Been working for me and this is what I was told. Hopefully for you and others.

    3. @Lynn Must have been the magic hour. I scored the silk blend sweater tee for $27, now back to $45 with the promo. I noticed the sweater blazer too but as it’s already on its way to me I didn’t reorder as I expect it might not be worth the hassle returning it from Europe, not even sure how to do that now that a lot of shops and stores are closed here #staysafe #stayhome

  2. Correction: the bees silk pants were $13.76 plus tax and the leather pants were $128.00 plus tax.

    2. That was a new sale x old sale crossup. All the prices have been raised now!

I was afraid the thighs on those pants would not fit mine, which are both muscular and chunky, so I passed.

I did order a cotton/linen hoodie for my stepson, and cotton/linen and patchwork cable cotton sweaters for my hubs at $20 each. They are now $50/60. Oh, and the sequin sleeve top for $13.50, even though it won't be wearable until next fall/winter. And the nautical embroidered t at under $10. I have too many tshirts, but that would work perfectly with my "sailor" style dark wash jeans or my white denim skirt this summer.

I've been dressing like casual Friday every day as I WFH. I feel better when I look nice, and of course my husband sees me too.

  3. This morning prices on some items are definitely higher. I mean don’t they realize with many of us quarantined we are checking often and remember prices? I really don’t like that at all.
At this point I am just waiting to be able to return my previous order. Only keeping the two lace tie neck tops. My preference is to return in store since it’s a lot of stuff and I’m reluctant to think CS will get it all correctly. Sigh.

    1. @Suz, yes this price checking story is a nightmare. I had ordered the new boyfriend sweater blazer yesterday @ $50.00 and very early this morning it was $35.00. There must have been a glitch in the system as well as for the leather navy pants for 128.00. I’ve been trying to call my VPS to see if she will do a courtesy price adjustment for the blazer. If not I have a screenshot with the lower price. I’m happy with the price for the leather pants so no complaints for that item. Unfortunately the way things are going I don’t see anything opening for awhile. We’re quite upset down here with all the chaos because nothing is really shut down and no restrictions about staying in and very few people are respecting what little is taking place. Meanwhile people are coming in droves down here. It’s scary. We need a national shutdown with some serious testing and then enforcement unfortunately.

    2. Agreed. I heard Florida was a bit chaotic.
We have sheltered in place since last Monday. My daughter’s LA college program closed and she came home Friday. Aside from the airport pickup have only left the house for walks and have arranged delivery of everything else.

I agree that in order for life to go on there needs to be mass testing. In order to go to work or school everyone needs to be tested. Unfortunately I don’t think it will work that way, at least not yet, and irresponsible or clueless people will continue gathering as we have seen here, even though the state is on lockdown and non essential businesses have closed. In a group I’m in it was noted that people climbed fences and broke chains to get on to the school football field to play soccer. In another town it was noted that 60 kids and parents were on a playground. That’s not social distancing. So frustrating.

  4. I've received all of my orders and am taking a break. I now have a big box of returns and I don't even want to leave my apartment to go to the post office if I don't need to. I'd rather wait until stores reopen - if the return window is extended to 60 days, hopefully stores will be open just before Memorial Day (omigod).

    1. eeps, just an option - if you don't want to go to the post office, you can schedule a pickup on the USPS website and they can pick it up when you get your daily mail delivery. I have some jeans to return and deciding what I want to do, I'm glad to hear they are doing free mail returns. I also have to send back my rent the runway items since I paused my membership for next month (no sense renting clothes for my living room!) via UPS so I will have to go to the UPS store at some point.

    2. I got one that encourages me to visit my local store and did not have any coupon attached. It was also comically large, like a full-size newspaper?

    3. Got the oversized catalog today and a coupon inside. I wish it had been smaller with more pages. I miss the catalogs and find them easier to brainstorm outfits/pieces than online scrolling.

  6. Hey everyone. Any reviews for the liberty headbands? My daughter’s birthday is coming up and I’m trying to think of fun things to make it extra special for her considering we’ll still be locked in the house. She’d love a fancy headband but some of the reviews online said they break easily.

Also, any reviews for the pink gingham outfit? Specifically the skirt. Looks so cute (reviews say there is no tie but that’s ok) and would be a perfect summer skirt.

Hope everyone stays healthy and safe!

  7. I got the navy gingham pants and peaches tee yesterday in the mail. I didn't plan on wearing them together, but thought they looked cute hanging up side by side. The pants are nice and I took my usual size 2. They're meant to be very fitted and are higher waisted than I'm used to, but not too high waisted for short-waisted me. The peaches tee is cute but see-through. It's odd that you can't see a beige bra through it, but it looks cheap to me to see how the gingham of the pants shows right through where the tee pools untucked at the bottom. The state of N.C. finally is locked down as of Monday. We've got a lot of cases in Charlotte and Raleigh. I live in Winston Salem and am managing to hang on at work as we've been deemed an essential business. People are stupidly hoarding and it's stressful to go to the grocery store because you can never predict what's going to be out. I got milk and eggs after a little work but NO pasta shells anywhere. Agree on the need for a nationwide lockdown all at the same time. I'm part of a local effort to sew face masks and that feels like a good thing to do with my sewing machine--made me feel less guilty for shopping.

    1. Thanks for the review on the pants. I'd probably go with a 4 then, since I'm only a 2 sometimes.

We had all the food hoarding two weeks ago in NJ, it will settle eventually. It would make sense for the restaurant suppliers to sell to the retail grocery, ditto for the office suppliers and that would ease the shortages.

  9. Received the Peyton Sailor pants in the pink. Took my regular size and they bag in the crotch. It’s a little darker than online but because of the fit they’re going back. The new Ratti print blouse is too dark for my taste, size is fine but going back as well. Three tees, the palm tree one fits true to size and is really cute, the pink with beach chairs is cute but fabric is quite thin, the navy days of the week French tee is cute, good fabric. TTS for all. I mentioned the Oars tee and Roma tee shirts in the Factory side. They’re adorable, excellent fabric. I went up one size because I like to roll the sleeves and for some reason there was a little shrinkage not bad though where it can’t be worn. Next shipment coming are the watermelon print sequin dress, the classic watermelon stripe shirt, the oversized boyfriend blazer in pink/navy and the sequin blazer. I would like to see some more sequined button down shirts or embellished patterns. We’ll see. Hope everyone is safe.

    1. Thx for the review. I've only ever tried Peyton style pants once. They were cut too small in the thighs for me and sizing up would be too large in the waist and hips. Would you say the leg opening is trim?

    2. No, at least not on me. They were a slightly wider than depicted in the photo. I also wasn’t crazy about the white stitching, The old crew sailor pants were far nicer. Remember them?

      Delete
    3. Yes, they were very popular!

I have a pair of sailor jeans from Banana Republic that I think I like, but have not decided with the longer return windows. They are in a plain dark wash, and the buttons are operational (no zipper). I got a tall size, so they are a longer cropped length. The fit is good on me, and the buttons all lie nice and flat.
