  1. I ordered the puff-sleeve crop top in knit seersucker. The website picture doesn’t do it justice, but when you zoom in you can see how cute it is. As there were no reviews yet I asked CS for measurements and I’m happy to say the mailed them the same day. As a previous request for measurements was futile (we don’t have the measurements for this specific item?!?) I was afraid this was a roundabout way of no longer providing measurements. Happy to see that they still offer this great service.
Based on the measurements and the review that since appeared in the website the top runs TTS.

    1. I reviewed the top yesterday and it is TTS.
It is actually quite cute and i paired it with the striped pencil skirt.

  2. I see the lovely Collection Lady Jacket has popped back in a few sizes. Unfortunately the price is higher than I paid (around $60?). This is a really special jacket, the colors are fantastic. It did take a while to find the right pairings, but it is worth the trouble. I was lucky to find a Factory cashmere tshirt in a heather blue and heather pink that work well with it (which were also on sale for $20!) White or a medium navy are good for bottoms. Ivory did not work. You might get lucky with a purple or blue bottom, I just don't have anything in the right shade. I took my 'usual' jacket size of 6, since the lady jacket does run a bit smaller than some styles.

  3. I had an event last night and I chose to wear all J.crew, black linen regent pants, black linen perfect shirt, old (really, really old) scrappy suede sandals and jewelry.
I love this simple, sophisticated look. I wish J.crew would make more tailored classics like this, even if they continue to do the more boho stuff which is not my taste. As it is the pants are too loose on me now 😞 and I almost wore something else...so I’ll be searching for these pants in 00.
Slightly OT vent...I can’t seem to find black linen at any of my usual retailers this year except Everlane, and as someone who wears black year round I wanted to add a few pieces to my collection.

    1. Oops, they’re RHODES linen pants.

    2. I like my black linen perfect shirt too, and the black linen bermuda shorts from last year. They are not true bermudas which I think have a narrow leg, and they are only 7" long.

    3. Suz, I bought (and really like) a pair of Cabo linen joggers and Cabo wide leg linen pants, both in black, from Athleta. I usually think of Athleta as being primarily “yoga gear” but these pants are definitely not. Maybe check those out. They have shorts as well.

    4. Suz Has, I wear Eileen Fisher. I only buy on sale because brand is pricey, but the pieces will last ages.

    5. Thanks for the tips. I got the pants in 00 on Poshmark, NWT. yay!

      I’ll check athleta.

I love Eileen fisher on others but it’s not quite my style, and prob more $$$ than I want to spend. Also, Just from a few pieces I’ve tried over the years. Sizing is too big for me. That may have changed though.

    6. TheDish, those joggers are great! If I didn’t find a pair of Joie ones I’d look to buy those, they look perfect for warm weather travels and lounging.

    1. I missed out on the rainbow skirt. There was a 4 (I'm a 4 or 2 depending).

    2. Oh no! Maybe it will popback again. My sweaters have already shipped.

  5. Wearing the Liberty Josephine floral popover today! So glad I could get it when the price dropped (temporarily). When I saw the pictures online, it seemed kind of dowdy to me but I'm glad I gave it a chance. Liberty cotton is wonderful for the summer. Feels great on and it washes really well. Hang to dry and I never iron. Light steam and I'm ready to go. (I'm sure it would be amazing ironed and crisp, but I am too lazy and I think it's still presentable without ironing - but others may have higher standards :-)

  6. I received the ratti aviary print dress and it’s beautiful! While I’d rather a diff style of dress I really love the print and I don’t think the pants would work for me. I love the color as well.

  7. I received the Peyton wide-leg crops. I ordered a 4T, though I am a 2 or 4. They are too small, make me feel like a tub. The tightness is across my hips and butt. The waist, usually big on me in 4, just fit. The reviews did say they run small, so I hoped the 4 would work. This was a pop-back color, so I can't size up, just return.

On the other hand, I found THE white denim skirt. I took a 2 and that is the perfect fit. I'd ordered 2 and 4 but did not even try on the 4. At 20" it is above the knee but suitable for work. Not see-through even with dark underwear. I bought it for $16, but with the current promotion it is $24. There is a full size run & petites if you like a shorter skirt.

    1. Stinks about the pants. I hate that. Just from the looks of them I don’t think they’d work on me so I’m not even trying.

    2. I have been curious about the pants and you confirmed what I thought may be an issue for me. They looked very straight and I was concerned my butt may get too flattened. Thanks for posting p! Glad you were able to get THE skirt, and at such a great price!

  9. Today I received the Oversized button-up in cotton poplin Item: J7585 Color: WHITE
SIZE XS/S I ordered last week on sale.
I initially hesitated and I’m so glad I bit the bullet, so to speak. Many of my other white button downs are either fitted or straight and this is definitely not. It’s light and blousy. I tried it on with several bottoms, several wide leg crops, slim leather trousers, straight carpenter pants, and it works equally well tucked with a higher rise or little front tuck. I liked it with the top few buttons undone and the sleeves cuffed.
I’m keeping both sizes because in my experience white shirts don’t last forever and this will be a staple when I want to stay cool but not be totally exposed.

    1. Good you have a winner. Sounds like you'll enjoy it the way I like my Utility pocket shirt in denim H6504. That top is oversized, but drapes some and a front tuck works. I liked it so much I bought 2 (plus they were under $10!) I usually go with fitted tops, but there are days for a roomy look.

    2. I second the positive review on this blouse! I just received my XS and wore it to dinner last night with white skinny jeans and heels and again to work today with the same jeans and flats. I'm wearing it untucked and it is light and airy and crisp. I have long arms and the sleeves are perfect right below my elbows, so they go into the nook while typing. One of my favorite shirts of all times was a white blouse from crew that had a very similar shape, but was from probably 2004-2006. I couldn't be more pleased. Definite win.

    3. I just received the oversized poplin shirt. I was going to order a back up this morning but the price has been raised to full price.

    4. Yes, I saw that which makes me def want to keep the spare I got on sale.

  10. Oh, I wanted to post a follow up to comments I made this week.

I had ordered shorts from Gap that were supposed to have been delivered over a week ago. A few days later I sent an email, and they credited me. Still no sign of the shorts which supposedly shipped but are missing in transit.

I also had Madewell shorts disappear, but they actually ended up delivered several days later after also briefly disappearing from tracking. I ordered the rainbow pull on shorts and they’re a little loose but otherwise keepers since they’re so easy to throw on and go.

The Madewell balloon sleeve sweater, however, is going back. I love that it’s all cotton and the texture is great but the fit just doesn’t work for me. I tried three sizes. If the waist band was narrower I could make it work but it just hangs,
Also, I ordered a heart print bandana which is super lightweight and comfortable, but the hearts are not defined enough and to me look like splotches or blood, so it’s going back.

Everlane: I tried the high waisted shorts that are similar to the wide leg crops, but didn’t love the shape. Also tried the linen cotton sweater which sadly is too boxy as well. It doesn’t work with my long torso. One bright keeper, a 100 percent cotton denim jacket in dark denim, hip length, good shape and color, functional pockets. I’ve avoided buying a new denim jacket for a long time because I don’t like the cropped waist length but this one is a good Balance of oversized and traditional. The dark indigo and black are both included in the choose what you pay section.
