  1. Do you think it was an oversight or intentional to not cut the thread that hold the vent together in the back of Meghan's JCrew coat? lol https://tomandlorenzo.com/2018/03/prince-harry-and-meghan-markle-visit-millennium-point-on-international-womens-day/

    1. It looks great on her but, wow, that’s embarrassing. I actually saw this coat online early this morning (in a size 4 I think).

    2. Yikes, cute coat but embarrassing. I have stopped colleagues at conferences before who have done this with blazers and I certainly hope someone would do the same for me.

    3. Hehehe...does she have an assistant? I guess not.

    4. For someone that considers herself so fashion conscious I’m thinking she doesn’t really pay that much to detail except for constantly swiping her hair. I love the coat not on her. Kate Middleton would wear this better even being pregnant.

    5. I stopped some young men at my college not that long ago. There were three of them all wearing suits/blazers, so clearly had some sort of interview or presentation day. After walking behind them for a few minutes I finally stopped the one with the X still in his blazer and explained that it was meant to be removed. He was clearly embarrassed by this comment by a stranger, and his friends thought it was hilarious! But he was only a bit older than my son and I hoped that someone would do the same for him if he was unwittingly making the same mistake.

    6. Go check out ‘garyjanetti’ on Instagram. He has a side-by-side of Meghan in the coat and Prince George is his little bathrobe. It’s hilarious :)

    7. @Debby - I assume it's accidental when people go out like that and I really appreciate someone letting me know if I forget to remove tags or thread, but I once quietly alerted a woman about the thread X on her coat and she totally flipped her lid, screaming at me to mind my own business and insisting that she wanted it like that. So...ok.

    8. @Lauren - IDK, I took a look at his Instagram and I didn't find him funny at all. He just seems mean and nasty to me.

    9. @Lauren the bathrobe one is great, and the one about the horse made me laugh out loud!

  2. Love all of my Liberty for J Crew perfect shirts and popovers. Hoping for more beautiful prints for spring and summer. Would LOVE to see a new catalog sometime soon but that is probably wishful thinking. I can't believe how much I miss those catalogs. :(

    1. I miss the styleguides too!!
Have not heard about one coming soon:(
Just got the perfect shirt in the navy Liberty floral and even though i am not a flower-y person,i love this one

    2. Ina, I wore mine (the new navy floral) yesterday. I love it, too. Still deciding on the popover. The colors kind of wash me out but I love the print.

    3. Last summer, I bought the cross back summer dress in the Liberty floral print. I never thought that I would love it so much (thought that I would look like a floral ball) but I can't get enough of it. Throw it on with a sweater, a jean jacket or wear it solo, love it!

    4. @Rashawnda, yes! I haven't tired of that print in the least. It looks modern, vintage, classy, and still fun. Goes well with so much, indeed.

    5. Love that new Liberty print perfect shirt too. Works well with striped silk crop pants. Took my usual size in perfect shirt; it washed just fine in cold water and dryer.
Also received piped loafer calf hair mules with bow. Took my usual size in J Crew mules. Calf hair continues onto the heel which is a detail I like. Comfortable & no issues with staying on my feet. Chatted with an online stylist to find my size in store even though my size was sold out online.

  3. I think there are 2 new items on the website: the Funnelneck shirt in eyelet(H7572) and the Embroidered bell-sleeve dress(H6978).

    1. I agree. These look new to me. Thanks for sharing!

    2. Oh I really like that eyelet top. It's pretty. Not sure how practical but pretty and a little different.

    3. There's also a Ratti print popover that's cute.

    4. Oooh, thanks for pointing out the Ratti popover. That looks promising - and not POLY! :)

    5. There is a new leopard print linen cotton perfect shirt, too.

    6. I love eyelet, but I already have several eyelet shirts in my closet that I rarely wear, so I'm going to have to pass on this one.

    7. The eyelet shirt is very pretty, I especially like how the hemline looks in the back. Thankfully this shape wouldn’t work for me at all so I’m not tempted.

  4. The cropped silk pull on pants I received a week or so ago at 40% off popped back but at full price. I decided to order them and hope for a sale, because I'm not keeping them for $138.

    1. Suz, if you ordered them previously with 40% off they will usually honor that price if you need a different size/color. I’ve asked many times and never been told no.

    2. I was thinking of doing that. Once I get them in I'll see.

    3. Although it was also 10% cash back on ebates and they're not going to credit that...so it will need to be a good sale.

  5. I have Madewell love this week - their shipping has been super fast - I ordered the Gemma mules last week which I received in two days. They made my feet look HUGE though so I returned them. I've already gotten confirmation that they were we received/returned. Then I tried the Brady low booties (deciding if I'm in to these or not) and again, I received them in two days. I ordered a day before the 15% off started for insiders and they adjusted my order with no issues. I'm not a frequent Madewell shopper but have been pleased with my experiences there.

    1. Anne, how did the Brady booties fit for you? I'm an 8 in ceces and a 7.5 in Gemmas and Dulcis and I'm debating between a 7 and a 7.5 in the Madewell boots.

    2. Alyssa, I'm a 9 in the Dulcis and the newer Lucie pumps and almost all of my other J.Crew shoes are a 9.5. I went with a 9 in the Brady booties and they are perfect.

  6. The perfect rain jacket (pink) is now backordered until July lol
Do you think it will ship out before that?

    1. I just got the rain jacket in pink. It’s quite lovely but a bit sheer. I also got scarf H9324 and it’s a perfect match and also well made. The navy would probably be more practical but also a lot more boring.

    2. @Natayla how do you like the bungee waist? I love the yellow version but am worried about it looking too bunched up

      Delete
    3. It’s OK on me. I’m just over 5’4 and short waisted so it hits me at the right spot at the waist which doesn’t happen too often due to the “right spot “ being tiny and also DD boobs requiring inches of fabric and pulling garment waist line up. It doesn’t make my waist look tiny but it’s not boxy either.

      Delete
    4. What I would change about the jacket is to make the hood oversized. I think all rain jackets should have oversized hood but so few do.

      Delete
    5. I agree about the hoods. I bought an Eddie Bauer Girl on th Go trench last year and was disappointed by the smallish hood. Usually EB does a great job with functional outwear, but they skimped on that aspect for some reason.

    6. Just checked the reviews, seems that everyone is loving this jacket. Seems like J.Crew got it right this time!

  7. Love that I just realized it is March 8 and I haven't bought anything. Excited that it isn't a struggle right now.

    3. I last article of clothing I bought from J. Crew or any store for that matter was December 11, 2017! I have not bought anything since and I don't even think about it. It's a very liberating feeling to not feel the need to look on line for clothing or wait for it to arrive!

    4. Congrats, Wendy, that’s awesome!
