This is not a specific j.Crew styling question but related to skirt length. I found a non-mini skirt for an event, it's a bit loose on me to wear at the waist. I'm unsure of the proper length. I see all types of midi skirts that are what "we" would have called tea length and also fuller skirts (which is what this is) that hit just below the knee. The stock photo of this skirt is justbelow the knee. If I have the waist taken in it will be more of that length, but if I wear it low on my hips it's closer to that midi length.
ReplyDeleteI posted it on IG at Wearthislikethis. I think with the fullness just below the knee works better but this is a new silhouette for me so not sure. I don't want to look dowdy.
If you are referring to the Eliza J skirt, the length shown in the photos looks great on you!
DeleteSuz, I agree it’s a tricky length. Go with what feels best/natural for you. I don’t think there’s a clear right or wrong here as long as you take the proportions of your top and heels into account. It’s a glamorous skirt and looks like it will be fun to wear!
DeleteThanks ladies, inthe pic I actually have the skirt pulled up a little and pulled down a little. It's a slight variation. I'm leaning more towards right below the knee for the proportions of the skirt. Thanks!
DeleteI just purchased the outlet pencil skirt in houndstooth, and I'm confused what tights and shoes you would wear with this...
ReplyDeleteMy two cents...olive, cinnamon and even mustard tights. Booties in an array of browns would work as would dress boots (camel color). It's hard to tell from the photo if the other color is navy or black. You could match tights to that color too. HTH 😀
