This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this
post) says it best, "You know, that thing you
bought because you love it and you keep pulling it
out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please
share your J.Crew item (either that you own or
are thinking about getting) that you would love help
creating an outfit with.
Also,
please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel
free to include links to your blog (where you
incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you
showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance!
:)
Two of my J.Crew via eBay purchases arrived this week, one of which was a NWT orange paisley pencil skirt (37867). I don't know how old it is, but it's beautiful, even nicer then I'd hoped for, and I'd love to hear some styling ideas for it (or even better, see some stylings if there are any blog posts out there). I'm more of a sweater/knit person than a shirt person (I don't like tucking things in), and I'll be wearing the skirt for teaching.
ReplyDeleteHi! I love that color orange with teal or aqua - do you have a Tippi or cardi in that color?
DeleteThanks, Taylor, that does sound like a nice colour pop. My wardrobe leans heavily to the earth tones, plus navy and fushia, so I don't have aqua/teal, but it certainly sounds worth trying.
DeleteI have that skirt! Within the pattern you'll see bits of a less orange, more of a deep coppery color, and I picked up a JC linen tee in that color. Solid, not striped or marled. HTH.
DeleteThanks, WFF, I have a ton of copper/warm sepia/burnt sienna tops and sweaters from JC, so will give them a try.
DeleteI like all shades of blue with orange (complementary colors, of course). Try some of your solid navy with it.
DeleteNice to hear that your ebay, JCrew purchases worked out. I've been tempted by a few items, but haven't bought any.
ReplyDeleteJCrew used to make the most beautiful, patterned pencil skirts. I miss that.
I have a real weakness for those patterned pencil skirts, so I'm glad I can find the old ones on eBay.
