J.Crew Jacket Featured In Marie Claire

One of J.Crew's new arrivals is being featured in the latest issue of Marie Claire magazine. :)

The J.Crew item is a cargo jacket and retails for $125. (Click here to view a larger image.) The magazine suggests to achieve a "casual glam" look by topping "a 20's-style designer skirt with an easy-to-wear flak jacket" like J.Crew's. This is a new item, yet to be released online and is probably an "upcoming Summer" item (that or, I couldn't find it online).

To be honest, I am not super excited about the jacket. The jacket looks just okay in the magazine- and I am not sure how fitted it is in real-life. (My preference is that it's fitted, over boxy.)

What are your thoughts on the new J.Crew jacket (e.g. do you like/ dislike the shape, style)? Do you like cargo jacket look in general? What is your preference fit for jackets (e.g. boxy, fitted)? :)

Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available in the Spring sale, or to see some new Summer arrivals {wahoo!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

Some {Potential} News For J.Crew B&M Stores

"Thanks!" to a couple of Aficionadas who shared some {fantastic} news that may relate to several J.Crew brick & mortar (B&M) stores.

First, "thanks!" to an anonymous Aficionada who let us know that her local J.Crew store manager told her they are expecting new items in the B&Ms next week. Moreover, the newest arrivals "will be more inclined to the fall collection and revolve largely around the navy color". This {wonderful} news was also confirmed by FabulousFloridaMommy over at her {great} blog (click here to read her post). How very exciting!!! :)

Second, "thanks!" to Preppy Sue (check out her great blog here), who let us know that her local store (in Providence, RI) is offering an all-day savings event of 20% off all purchases of $125+ next Thursday, June 11th. It's unclear if other stores are doing the same event. Preppy Sue offers some {great} advice to check with our local stores to see if they are offering a similar promotion too. :)

Mini Note To All Aficionadas & Aficionados

I just wanted to write a quick note to let you know that for the next week, I will be on vacation (to... Paris)!

I promise to do my best in keeping up with the blog. However, I am sure there will be instances I won't be able to stay "on top" of news, promotions, comments, and emails.

I have already "set to go", the Great Weekly Exchange posts for Monday and the Seek and Find post for Friday. I will also have a post each day for "current happenings"- so we can still share the latest J.Crew news and promos with each other.

I truly appreciate everyone's contribution with the blog. I know I have mentioned this multiple times, but you all are the reason why this blog is so wonderful and informative. My hope is that you will continue to participate. Again, I promise to do my best to keep up with the blog in a timely manner and apologize for the instances I am not able to.

And now back to J.Crew!

P.S. As a little treat, here's the video of J.Crew's Paris catalog shoot back in Fall 2007- one of their best catalogs, ever. So lovely! {sigh}
