All brick & mortar stores are still running an additional 50% off all their Final Sale.

J.Crew has a nice update to their Sale (click here to shop online) section online this morning. Lots of merchandise (1900+ for Women and 600+ for Men). There were lots of items that got marked down too!

This will be the sale that goes on and on. Why even bother changing the promo code name for it? ;)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Are there any in-store prices different than online prices? Please share!

  1. Really contemplating the Cashmere Hoodie for $65. Can anyone comment on size and if you like it? It's something I would probably wear all the time, but would like info re: fit since it's FS and I've never tried it before. There are some good deals to be had!

    1. I'm a big fan of the cashmere Getaway hoodie. As for sizing, if you want the hoodie to fit like a regular sweater (fitted), get your regular size. This is how I like to wear it. I usually wear a tank top or a very thin/fitted tee underneath so there's no bulk.

If you want it to be looser, size up. I'm a medium for the most part although I can sometimes wear a small at J. Crew, depending on the item. I'm not busty and have thin arms so getting my regular sweater size works for me. HTH!

    2. I agree with above. I sized up according to the reviews in one of the getaways that I got and got my regular size in the other two and my regular size fits better. The sized up one is looser and too loose in the shoulders, it looks like I borrowed a guy's sweater which is a look some like, I prefer the more fitted look. I really like the heather indigo and burnt ember colors as well. I also got heather gray which I'm going to exchange since CS gave me the go ahead to do that despite final sale.

    3. I usually take an XS or S in Tippis and I sized up to a M in the Getaway Hoodie due to the reviews. It's loose in the waist but the shoulders fit fine and the buttons don't gape at the chest which is what I wanted. The S would have fit better in the waist but I have a small ribcage and a larger bust and I hate when the buttons gape in a sweater. I got the heather indigo-it's a great color-a true navy and well worth the $65.

    4. Jruby18: I have the cashmere getaway hoodie in black, and wore it a lot when we moved to Montana earlier this year. I actually purchased 2 more when they were 50% off last week, and may get another one with the extra 40% off, too. I normally wear an XSmall, sometimes an XXSmall, but purchased the getaway hoodie in a size Small. It is a tad roomy at the midsection, but the shoulders fit well, and the length is good. I could have sized down for a more fitted look, but I wanted it to be roomier so I went with the size small.

  2. Here's a question - Why would a petite & tall version of a sale dress be $20 more than the regular size? I noticed the difference in price when I was looking at the Seersucker Eyelet Shirt Dress, thought it was kind of odd...

    1. I totally agree! Jcrew has a bad habit of charging more for tall sizes, add that to the fact that they're not available in stores and you just end up paying more for a few extra inches! Not fair but what can you do?

    2. I would think then that the petite version would be the least expensive, LOL!

  3. I'm new to J.Crew denim jackets. I got my first Nolita jacket last week and I love the fit. Unfortunately the blue Nolita is not available right now.

Can anyone compare the currently available "Vintage denim jacket in recycled indigo wash" with the Nolita jacket in terms of fit? Also, I'm a little confused about the color of the "Vintage denim jacket" because the model appears to be wearing a very blue denim jacket while the "dark indigo" color swatch looks much darker.

    1. Big Shopper - I believe the Nolita has a little stretch in the fabric, maybe 2%, whereas the vintage denim jacket has none. Or maybe it's reverse with the vintage having the stretch. I think that was the main difference, though.

Given that they use lighting & photoshop, the non-model stock pic & swatch might be more accurate.

    2. Thanks Gigi! You're right, the white Nolita does have stretch and the vintage does not. I compared measurements and they're very close, so I'm hoping the fit is about the same.

I think the model is wearing a color that is no longer available, and the "dark indigo" shown in the swatch is the color of the jacket. I prefer the pretty blue that the model is wearing!

    3. I had a Nolita jacket and sold it - I bought it too big. That was probably 3-4 years ago and it didn't have stretch that I recall. I replaced it a couple of years ago with a lighter wash Factory jean jacket and I love it (no stretch in this one but it is very soft). I recently got the darker wash in the Factory jean jacket and it has a nice amount of stretch in it, it's great. If you end up not liking the Nolita or the vintage, maybe give the Factory jackets a try.

    4. Thanks cate, I never considered Factory. I think my current denim jacket obsession is starting to wind down. If it winds up again, I will check out Factory!

  4. I got a copy of the August catalog. What a flop! I can honestly say there is not one thing in it that I want. I hope the store roll out will be better than the catalog although I do not need one more thing. I will be curious to hear other opinions.

    1. Doodle Daschund - is that the first fall merch?

    2. That's disappointing, I was hoping that it would be better.

    3. I just got a copy of a fall look book but I don't have a blog. Gigi, can I flip it to you if you don't already have it?

    5. I must say that the puppy on the front cover is cute but that is it.

  5. Yes. I guess. There are some boots I know but lots of things that could be transitional, just really basic stuff that I think they tried to give a twist with a high waist or an oversize look. Really nothing memorable, no pretty prints at all. I might be able to scan and email to someone that can put it up.

    1. Thanks for the report. The big fall catalog might be Sept. Let's hope so ;)

    2. Doodle Daschund: I totally agree with you. This is the first time that I am absolutely bored with a J. Crew catalog. If you like cropped sweaters and oversized tops, you're in luck!

    3. From the few pics I have seen JC is moving in a more hyper-casual direction. I wish they would leave that to Madewell and keep JC for those of us who like more refined pieces.

    4. cass - Very well said & I couldn't agree more. My work attire changes based on clients and is moving back to more traditional corporate attire. Most of these pieces won't help me in that area.

Should have the catalog up within an hour.

  6. Anyone know how much the Signature Leggings were while they were on promo which ended yesterday? Thank you.

  7. Finally decided to buy the Cleo canvas bow loafers. I went into to my store to ask if I can use my teacher discount and have free ship. The SA agreed! So I got these flats for $61 total! Never thought she would agree to any of my requests, but I think they needed to move the merchandise for the new roll out. Never hurts to ask.

  8. The Cove Floral Bandeau Tank (swimsuit) arrived and it's really cute. The print does look good on a swimsuit!

  9. I received the Collection Cleo Calf Hair loafers today, and highly recommend them. They were originally $298 and are currently marked $119 before discount (I was lucky to grab them during the 50% promotion last week, making them only $59.99). There's basically a full run of sizes currently available.

  10. Whoo hoo the scalloped sailboat chambray shorts popped back in my size! For under $30 I snapped them up! :-)

  11. The cove floral skirt is $20 after the 50% off retail discount!

  12. ....Anyone...the embellished chambray scarf...do we like this...anyone? I remember it being beautiful, but feeling thick and not easy to manage. Can't decide...

    1. I love it, Gigi, but admittedly haven't picked it up yet because I think it's going to get knocked down further. Yes it's a bit large/thick, but I think I'm going to like working with it this fall. Let us know!

    2. I have it and your table runner comment is on point! LOL! I washed it hoping it would get softer and it didn't. But it is still very pretty and I am use to wearing something slightly uncomfortable for fashion. ;) It is easy to wear if you wrap it like in the catalog. But it is bulky. I don't mind it though.

  13. Nothing in the sale section I need to have, plus I said I was done with the summer shopping.

I have some August sneak previews here.
