This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
If anyone's out and about at a B&M this weekend and happen to see any Martina Tortoise Wedges, if they could let me know price and store location that would be much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteIn-store pricing cuts/info in this post.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone happens to spot the Seersucker Bermudas (#77759) at their store over the weekend, I would love to know the location. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSara, seersucker Bermudas at Emeryville as of yesterday 510-450-2548
Delete@Sara- on Sunday the Syracuse, NY b&m had a number of pairs of the Seersucker Bermudas. HTH
ReplyDeleteDon't you wish that J. Crew would open a larger, better stocked store in one of the new wings being built?
DeleteThe lexington ky store also had them when I called last weekend.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone happens to see a neon azalea blythe blouse in a 0 2p or 2 in their store this weekend please let me know, or if you know the price of this item in store. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSaw the blythe blouse in 0 and 2 in neon rose??? at Park Meadows, Colorado. HTH
DeleteThanks so much! I'll call and see how much it is :)
DeleteOh my... I think I just scored a heart throb jardin skirt from the sale section this morning! Crossing my fingers that I don't get the dreaded e-mail that they are out of stock. I had a few other "maybe" items in my cart, but there was not time to think, so I just hit send! Thank goodness it isn't final sale!
ReplyDeleteAnd also, If anyone see Martinas wedges on sale in any color but especially nude, please let me know which store! Thanks so much :)
ReplyDeleteAllisonFay - I saw the Martinas in nude for $69.99 in bronzed clay at Walnut Creek (925) 943-7664. They only had one or two pair, but that was the price on the box.
Deletethanks gigiofca! I called that store and they only had a 9.5. BUT I was able to call customer service and they actually gave me a price adjustment! I'm so suprised and excited- I've been coveting those for over a year but just couldn't justify the full price, or even the $158 promo price since I don't wear heels that often. I'm so pumped!
DeleteHi Allison. What color did they do the price adjustment for? I've been wanting the persimmon Martina's but like you, can't bring myself to pay $158. $70 is more reasonable. Thanks!
DeleteAre the Martine wedges in black suede on sale in stores?
DeleteI am so jealous that you found the Martina wedges in nude for that price! I have been coveting them too, but also couldn't justify paying so much for them. I called the Walnut Creek store but they don't have any left in 8 :( If anyone spots them in their local store please please let me know!
DeleteHoping to find the following items. If anyone notices them please place on hold and let me know. Thanks a bunch.
ReplyDeleteCafé capri in fresco floral sateen Size 10.
Valentina printed patent pumps Light Walnut Size 7.5
I'm expecting several packages from Mr. Brown Shorts today, so I'm sure I'll have a return...or two. I'll be curious if my store has the kind of markdowns that have been reported here. Last weekend they weren't as low as some that you all have found. I don't understand why. Hoping to find something good!!
ReplyDeletestracat - lol @ Mr. Brown Shorts. As I said in another thread, I thought prices were all the same in the stores. I know I've read a certain price here, at the store it was higher but rang up at the price reported by a JCA. If you see something that should be lower, I would ask them to do a price check at the register.

ReplyDeleteIf anyone happens to spot the spindrift sweatshirt in a size small in the navy and light emerald colors please let me know! My PS told me they are sold out nationwide but I'm hoping there might still be one out there. I am also trying to track down the Martina tortoise wedges in a size 8.5-9.5.
ReplyDeletejust called the walnut creek store that gigi told me about above and they have a 9.5 in bronzed clay. I'm not sure about the tortoise though
DeleteHaven't seen the paten tortoise ones lately, but last weekend I did see a few pairs of the Collection leopard calf hair Martina's marked to $199. And there was a size 8.5 and 9. 91 Fifth Ave NYC location.
DeleteWill there be a percent off of sale in the stores this weekend? Located in NYC.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone spots a Gondola Stripe Top in Sz 0, could you let me know? Store price is so much better than the online one! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteSewPetiteGal, if you order through the red phone, they will do a price adjustment for you!
DeleteThanks for the info! Have never used red phone before so will check it out when I'm there tomorrow :)
DeleteSewPetiteGal, saw the Gondola Top at Park Meadows, Colorado in 0 and other sizes for $29.99. HTH.
DeleteJRSConifer - Thanks so much!
DeleteI posted yesterday; but the WHisper Linen Cardigan in Navy was on sale for $29.99 at my local b&m yesterday. The SA said it was the only color that went on sale.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees the Seersucker Blazer in size 12, let me know. That particular size hasn't been popping up. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteVery likely, since I have to pass through downtown this weekend.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone had any luck getting a price adjustment from the online price to the in-store price? I don't live near a Crew, but was traveling on business this week and tried on the attache dress in linen canvas in store and they didn't have my size. I found it online but it is way more expensive (about $60 more). What gives?
ReplyDeletei just did! I got one on the Martina wedgnes- they are $69.99 in store but $158 or something online. Always worth a try!
DeleteI just tried this very same thing on the same pair of shoes, the Martina wedges and they would not adjust them for me. I am a size 5 so I always have to order my shoes online. So disappointed right now. Inconsistent policies are driving me not to shop. The CS online told me FLAT out they could not verify in-store prices through their system, when I know for a fact this is not true. And am I crazy or are these shoes now back at full price????

ReplyDeleteHi everyone. New here. Usually over at Effortlss Anthropolgie. I'm looking for the JCrew Nolita Jean Jacket. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIf everyone sees one, please let me know!

30 percent off all suiting in the SF downtown store this weekend! Big sale section too.
ReplyDeleteHi Caille,
DeleteThis doesn't typically include the blazers (namely schoolboy blazers) does it?
Hi Jackie, I don't think so ;-( It looked like just the classic and 120s suiting.
DeleteThe Edie is on sale! The Georgetown store has 3 Edie purses in flame was marked down to $129.99 and the small Edie in green was $99.99.
ReplyDeleteMy local B&M didn't have a size 6 in the No 2 garden floral pencil or succulent green. Anyone seen these at their stores?
ReplyDeleteThe international plaza store in Tampa had a bunch of succulent green in 0-10 sizes. I didn't notice the gardenshade but they had the white background floral and many other of the sold colors.
DeleteMary Moo I saw the garden floral pencil in Emeryville & San Francisco Westfield.
DeleteI just saw a bunch of the garden floral at Mission Viejo Mall, CA; Their sizes are all over the map. They usually have super small XXS or 00 or 0 and then it jumps to XL in their sale section. Call them...they are super friendly.
DeleteMy local B&M just marked down the No. 2 pencil skirt in double-serge cotton in several colors d to $34.99 (light rose, casablanca blue, and succulent green). I also snatched up the No. 2 pencil skirt in medallion paisley for $34.99.
ReplyDeleteWhich store?
DeleteAnd what sizes? Any 00? Or 0? TIA
DeleteI've updated the in-store price list again. Cray, I'm telling you. Cerise Elinor $29.99, colorblock-stripe silk skirt $129.99, stripe popover hoodie $29.99, ultra eyelet shell $39.99, stripe button-front dress $34.99 (I like this one, S), etc...
ReplyDeleteAre the white and Chili both on sale in the ultra eyelet shell? Which store? Thanks so much Gigi!
DeleteYes, both colors & I saw it in San Francisco Westfield :)
DeleteHey everyone, OT but I've added the January 2008 catalog to The J. Crew Archives. I've decided in recent weeks that I want to get back into blogging (sorry for the long hiatus!). I've been pursuing new endeavors the last few months but want to work blogging back into my schedule as well.
ReplyDeleteGondola stripe skirt $49.99 in-store
ReplyDeletepatent bronzed clay and the suede black ones. I figured it was the best time to just go ahead and bite the bullet!
DeleteI'm on a roll right now. I wish I could remember everything at once, but hey...
ReplyDeleteStripe blouson silk tank dress, one sz 4 in Emeryville yesterday
Tillary purse, poppy, one at San Francisco Westfield today
Gigi, was the Tillary on sale? Thanks!
DeleteHi Leah, I didn't look inside the purse. I know the green (grass green, not mint green) went to $99.99 in-store and poppy (red) went to $99.99 online. You should at least be able to buy it in-store for $99.99.
DeleteWest Coast Crew'ner and Candece. J Crew-Cherry Creek, Denver, Colorado. Saw Martina Tortoise Wedges 6.5 $69.99. Café capri in fresco floral sateen Size 10. $99.99, they did have other sizes. Huge sale section, considering the store is small, lots of dresses, skirts and shoes.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone!
ReplyDeleteSlightly OT, but I'm newer to Seattle area and was planning on setting out to peruse the Crew sale sections. I've been in the UVillage location a few times and briefly been in the downtown store, but never Bellevue.
Anyone have opinion as to which is biggest, might have the best finds, etc? TIA!
In terms of size: downtown > UVillage > Bellevue. The downtown store actually carries cashmere (at least they did the last time I was in there) and frequently has some rarer, more expensive items that the other two stores don't have. They also frequently have a gigantic, bursting sale section most times I've gone there. The UVillage and Bellevue stores have the same stuff, but I'd say the Bellevue one feels smaller. Might be wrong on that, though. Also, the UVillage store is the only store in the area with bridal.
DeleteI found the Bellevue store has more selection when it comes to sale items.
DeleteHi Never been to the Bellevue store but two weeks ago was at both the other stores. The downtown store SA assured me ( repeatedly) that they were THE store and carried more. My next stop was U village and I thought they had the same. The downtown SA said I shouldn't bother with Bellevue as it had less...hmmmm I really wonder now. I think if time allows I will hit up all three next time. Carolyn from Vnacouver
DeleteWelcome to Seattle, MichelleM! Pacific Place downtown definitely isn't shy about their opinion of their store ;) They have told me too that they have the best selection. Overall, I agree. I like their sale section, particularly the shoes. To me, they have the most varied sale merch; I have made my best sale finds at the Pacific Place store. That being said, it's best to get there on Wed. right after the markdowns happen to guarantee the best selection. I agree that they they seem to have more rare regular priced items as well, and despite their boastfulness I find that the staff there is nice and eager to help.
DeleteI always stop into UVillage and Bellevue when I am there, and I would say UVillage is my next preference with Bellevue being last. I find the Bellevue staff to be more helpful than UVillage though, so really it depends on what you are looking for in your J.Crew experience.
I hope that helps you! Let us know what you think :)
I agree that UVillage is the least helpful. Downtown Pacific place is the best one.
DeleteJust want to say thank you ladies! I was able to pop in to UVillage briefly and then made my way through downtown today. I did like the downtown sale section better in general.. UVillage just had a few more of the things I was scoping out. Was still hoping to see the striped derby dress in store but I guess that's excuse for another store trip :o)
DeleteGigiofca......thanks for the tips. I bought the No. 2 in neon pink at a store last Saturday and it was $59.99. Then I read here a couple of days ago it is $39.99 in other stores. I don't get it! I'm going to take my receipt with me tomorrow and ask about it, or see if other No. 2 skirts are marked at $39.99. I would think that all stores would get the same markdown info....I may have just missed another markdown. I swear my whole life is about waiting for Mr. Brown Shorts, stalking items, waiting for markdowns, returning stuff....ARG! But I'm not complaining really. I'm happy to get whatever discounts I can get and appreciate the super quick movement to sale prices that seem to be the new sales model for the Crew. It's not even summer here yet (Portland, Oregon) and already I'm getting my summer clothes on sale. Yeah!
ReplyDeleteStray, you aren't the only one who's constantly seeing Mr. Brown Shorts (lol on that one). I see him so often that he even knows my family and neighbors (in case he has to leave stuff with them). If this were another social situation, we'd be sending out the wedding invites.
DeleteAgreed. I'm sure Mr. Brown Shorts thinks I'm crazy with multiple J. Crew packages coming every week, and sometimes 2 in 1 day! And the SA at my store have known I was crazy for a long time with all of my returns and repurchases and such. But I do what I do to get the best deal :)
DeleteHey, I'm the same way. Get a package at least once a week. My dogs don't even bark at her any more they see her so much!
DeleteYikes, just went a bit pencil skirt crazy in store, but in my defense, they were all $35! Neon tweed, garden floral, and all the double serge cotton were marked down to that. The tweed skirt runs small, fti. The ultra eyelet was $40. Anchor maritime $40, stripe silk bow cami $50, linen cardi $35, neon stripe tees $20, giraffe necklace $70.
ReplyDeleteWhich store had the pencil skirts? Any in 00 or 0?
DeleteOld orchard, IL. I think they did have some, but not sure. They had a lot.
DeleteYou're kidding - I went to the same store today :) I picked up the stripe silk bow cami and almost picked up the double serge in neon azaela.
DeleteHow much was the garden floral!? I love that one, but can't justify it unless I get it at a really good price. I just don't wear pencil skirts that often, but I LOVE that pattern.
DeleteWhoa, thanks for the info! I was eyeing the garden floral but it was marked as $49.99 when I went Thursday.
DeleteIt was $44.99 in my store tonight (garden floral)...
DeleteAre the stripe silk bow camis on sale? If so, how much have they been seen for? Thanks!
DeleteGrace - just above, shopwithm said she saw the stripe silk bow cami for $50.
Deletestraycat, which JC do you go to? I have a lot of luck at the Pioneer Place one..the staff there seems pretty nice and tends not to hassle me about price adjustments!
ReplyDeleteFor the first time ever, I can say that I can go to my local J. Crew this weekend. The Edmonton store opened yesterday and is quite lovely -- it is much larger than I expected. It will be a treat to be able to try things on before buying!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new store. It's so exciting to have a store in your neighbourhood, isn't it?
DeleteVery exciting - I'll be in Edmonton in a few weeks and look forward to visiting a B&M (from Calgary).
DeleteGuys, I need your advice! I got the big shot dot dress in 0p for 90 (99.99 with my student discount) but is a tad too small. I just ordered the next size up via phone for 105. Do you think they'll do a price adjustment in stores? Thanks, JCAs!
ReplyDeleteLast weekend I saw (and bought) a pair of the rooftop red Valentinas for $69.99-teacher discount. Great deal if you can snag them! I didn't see any other colors but that doesn't mean they're not out there. This was at the Southpark store in Charlotte.
ReplyDeletehi went to the Vancouver store today.
ReplyDeletenot too bad of a sale section...lots of linen minis in all colors, gondola skirt, some dresses, shoes, scarves. I know my prices and I will still wait for a trip down south next weekend...too big of a price differnce for me. SA's were helpful...not as over the top as the Seattle stores were. I was able to try alot of pieces on...wow do sizes ever differ from pieces... Thanks Hope this info helps someone. Carolyn from Vancouver
Does anyone know how much the Seville Canvas & Satin Wedge Espadrilles are in the store? They are $98 online but I thought the stores may have a better deal. Also is anyone seeing any of the Refined Silk-Cashmere wraps still in stores? They only have the Cerise color left online at $49.99 but I thought I remember that one coming in other bright colors.
ReplyDeletejRuby -- (sorry, I can't get reply to work) It was $35 like all the others! Crazy. They did have several of them there. What size are you looking for?
ReplyDeleteJulie -- How funny that you were there today -- one of these days we'll probably run into each other. Or you'll hear someone snapping pictures in the dressing room and catch me out! lol

Deleteaudball.....I go to the Washington Square and Bridgeport Village stores. They are pretty nice there, especially like Cheryl at W. Square. But I haven't seen the crazy markdowns at those stores that everyone hear is talking about. Maybe they happened this week? I'm going tomorrow and hope to snag some of the things I paid more for and maybe find something else I "need".
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you! It's nice knowing that there's someone in the 'hood :)!
DeleteI'm waiting for something online- I feel my JCrew-discount sense tingling hahaha!
I found the anchors aweigh blouse for $64.99 in-store today, and it's $79.99 online. I thought that might help some folks ;)
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how much the Blythe blouse is in store?? The sale colors (ex-neon azalea)
ReplyDeletethanks!
I think it was $64.99 in my store for the bright blue color, but am not certain...
DeleteAlice, take both items and your receipt and say you want the dress that fits for the price of the one that did not. They should give you the lowest price.
ReplyDeleteGreat, thanks for the advice. I will certainly do this! On a related note, the new manager at my store is not very nice. I hate how it seems like whether or not you get a certain discount is based on how nice the SA is. Is a total guessing game.
DeleteBut yeah, thanks again, Shekster!
oops it should say, receipts, take both.
ReplyDeleteI picked up two pencil skirts tonight at Fashion Place (Utah): one double-serge cotton and another navy one that must have been a random return because it was marked down to $20.99. With my student discount, I paid like $55 for both skirts -- not too shabby!
ReplyDeleteThey had a ton of the cotton pencil skirts, cafe trousers, and chinos in the sale section there, if anyone's looking for those items.
A few more -- schoolboy in aged driftwood, $79.99, sunlit sequin tank $9.99, linen beach cardigan $49.99
ReplyDeleteHas anybody tried both the Madewell Panama Hat and the Jcrew one? Are they the same? Madewell's is on sale while Jcrew's is still full price...
ReplyDeleteMiss Penny Z. - I haven't tried the MW hat but a big difference is what they are made of, JC is of straw while the MW is made of toyo paper - a light and comfortable fiber but cannot be worn in the rain.
ReplyDeletethank you tifanny rose, i appreciate it!
DeleteWent to my local B&M yesterday after reading here (thank goodness for JCAs!) that the featherweight cotton cardigans were on sale. I had just purchased several of them for full price online.
ReplyDeleteThing with the in-store cardigans though is that two of the five I bought there already had tiny holes, presumeably from try-ons (now I have to return these too).
I didn't think that they were that delicate! The one that I have been wearing for about a month now is still in perfect condition but now I'm worried that they might not live to see next summer.
I also got the No.2 in Neon Tweed for $34.99 (seems they are all that price), the linen bow short in that sumptuous green color for $24.99, scoopneck blouse in anchors away (so happy I waited this one out) and the printed silk square scarf in orange polka dot for $14.99 (so much prettier IRL)
Forgot to say that I was on the hunt for the Martina wedges in calf hair, size 7.5. $199 in-store, right? If anyone sees it, please let me know. Hate that my tiny store doesn't carry shoes, far less Collection pieces.
DeleteIf you don't mind me asking, how much was the scoopneck blouse in anchors away? I've been waiting and waiting for that to reach a good price.
DeleteTry the 91 fifth Ave store, saw some last weekend, not sure if there was a 7.5. The NYC stores stock a lot of shoes, so call around. I tried those on and they seemed super comfy and classy.
DeleteIs the colorblocked maritime dress on sale in stores?

ReplyDelete@D*ska - (reply never works for me) ITA with you, I really wish that b&m carried shoes etc. I am hoping that with the new additions the mall will get rated better then maybe the JCrew store level will increase and carry better merch. I do always get great customer service there though. :)
ReplyDeleteInteresting...always works for me at home on my Mac never in my office on my PC. Maybe work telling me I should not be on JCA during business hours :)

ReplyDeleteOT: The polka-dot bow blouse that was under the Gondola stripe coat in the Spring 2012 Collection Lookbook is available now on Net-A-Porter. More details here. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Sorry for the multiple comments...I think I finally got it right this last time. :)
ReplyDeleteIf I do a WeEillFindIt, do they charge in store or online prices? Hmmm. TI A :>
ReplyDeleteThey usually only do it for full price items, but if you get lucky, you might can get the lowest price.
DeleteThx! I actuaully have done a wifi for the tipped hacking jacket when it was on sale and honestly can't remember if I got the in store or online. It was an in store receipt so I don't know :(
DeleteI called the store I shop at in Chicago and they are putting an order together for me- so very nice! They had the garden floral, double serge cotton, and Raj paisley and the Tessa top in purple. Any other great in store deals I should add?
Deletepathos - In case you didn't see, there's a good number of in-store price notes in this post. Maritime anchor dress $34.99, Tessa in wildcat $29.99, stripe pullover hoodie $29.99 and so on...
DeletePathos, is the raj paisley 34.99 as well?
DeleteRaj paisley skirt was still $79.99 @ my store--hth!
Deletethanks wendy
DeleteYup it was $79
DeleteD*ska.....(REPLY never works for me either!) I had one package go missing from my porch years ago and since then I have to sign personally for every package! Note to Mr. Brown Shorts: I know we see each other so often it's like we are dating, but lets keep it professional...ok, Craig?
ReplyDeleteNote to the squirrel who stole my package: I hope that face cream gave you zits.
lmao... you are too funny! But I'm so happy to know that I'm not the only one who's constantly receiving those brown boxes. I'm almost embarassed to admit that I get a box almost every day when there is a promo code for a % off.
DeleteHas anyone seen any petite capri's (minnie's scout or cafe capri) in stores? If so price, colors, and stores please...Thanks to everyone for being so helpful during this blog. Especially Gigi! Gigi I'm sure I can say this on half of this blog, you go out of your way to help EVERY person!! Thanks so much for all you do!
ReplyDeleteOWS - (feeling embarrassed) Thank you and I'm glad you feel it helps. I'm feeling like a thread hog, but these prices are crazy right now. I can't stand the thought of a JCA missing out on a good deal! Lemme throw in some more !!!s on that. And thanks a ton to all the JCAs who report info because it helps. Like pathos, I did a charge-send based on info I read here. It was for Factory a few weeks ago and I got *the* best deals thanks to everyone who shared info. So while we're at it a big, soppy, loving THANKS to Alexis who steers The Mothership! More !!!!s
DeleteI echo OWS comment! Being oversees and on-line shopping, I read this blog like crazy and Gigi's blog to keep up with the pricing drops. I ordered the Neon Azalea Raindrop lace top at FP online and then 2 days later it went down to $69.99 in the store (thanks to Gigi's comment). My PS gave me the price match and credited the difference. Saved me nearly $50! Woohoo!
DeleteOh yes thank you everyone! I rarely go on in store so the blog is a huge help!!!
DeleteI'm also echoing what others are saying, thanks Gigi for keeping us updated with these crazy prices. Maybe one day we'll run into each other Gigi at the SF or Emeryville store.
DeleteJoelle....it is quite possible! lol

ReplyDeleteDitto to Gigi- so helpful!
ReplyDeleteWas able to locate the garden floral skirt in a 10 from N. Michigan store in Chicago $44.99 and the Double Serge pencil in purple for $39.99 from the fashion place in Utah. I wish I could have gotten the $34.99 deal that shopwithm had, but I called several stores and they didn't have my size. Would have been nice to get them from same store too, but oh well!

ReplyDeleteConster, it's an older, "ye olde j.crew of yore" piece, back when they had the green labels. The style numbers had a different format and seasons were not marked on the labels. Back then, they actually did have some items made in the USA but most oft than not, it was made in Hong Kong or Eastern Europe. I still have a blue polka dot dress (size 4, modern day size 0) from early 90's that has the green tag and a red beret that I cannot bring myself to get rid of, also with the green tag, though this one also has a man in red on it. HTH
Deleteok-- good-- thanks for your help-- I appreciate it.
DeleteBack from store number two today. *blushes* This store had the pencil skirts priced at $39.99. So there may be price discrepancies by store. Trying to think what other markdowns I saw. I found the silk scarves (colorblock and one that looks sort of like foulard) for $15. Turtle earrings for $20. Tessa in the purple and the safari cat for $30. The garden floral strapless Ella was $70 I think? I did not see the colorblock Maritime that someone asked about. They must be gone from my store. There were sale items throughout the floor, not just in the sale section like usual.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I randomly decided to try on that black Winnie dress that has been lagging in the sale section forever. I tried a 2 and what do you know, it was super cute and incredibly soft and comfortable. How did I miss this one? Would love if they'd make this in other colors for fall!
Last week online chat told me the viv bow flats were 109 in store?? I forgot to mention this. Has anyone spotted those??
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteAnd the games go on...I just came back from my two stores. This may sound nuts or inspired (actually a little of both) but I took everything I bought online in the last month with me! Everything. In case it was cheaper in the stores. And I was straight up with them about it. And you know what, the SA's agreed with me. Crazy pricing is making them nuts too! I returned my pink No. 2 skirt that I just bought last Saturday for $59.99 for another at $34.99 and picked up the succulent green one too for $34.99. I returned my Anchor blouse I bought for $98.00 and got one for $64.99. I was feeling so good I sprung for the giraffe enameled necklace for $64.99 but almost screamed out loud when I saw another necklace I JUST wore (but the 30 days has expired) and was $95.00 cheaper! GRRR!!! Oh well. I'm keeping the Apple jardin skirt which I totally ignored for so long , cause it's SOOOO cute even though I didn't get it 30% off, returning the big shot dot skirt and ordering the pop art polka dot pencil instead....I think it's more age appropriate for me. On the fence about the safari cat long skirt which my stores never got. Everything in that print is on sale, so I'm thinking I can pick it later cheaper, so the one I got for $89.99 is going back. Kari dress going back too. Nothing special on me. And red phoned in a Tippi in shocking pink cause my stores didn't get it. Then walked over to Banana Republic to see the Trina Turk collection and picked up a fantastic orangy red leather hard frame clutch with a big turquoise stone clasp and their khaki trench coat at $99.99....50% off! Yeah! And my Italian calf hair Edie Attache bag that I snagged an extra 30% was waiting for me when I got home. PHEW! I think I need to lay down for a bit.
ReplyDeleteStraycat......what size was your big shot dot skirt? I'm looking for a size 4.
DeleteAllisonFay and D*ska.....Mr. Brown Shorts has told me that the frequency of deliveries to my home are paying for his children's education. I'm pretty sure he means their advanced education.... at an Ivy League school. I fessed up to my J. Crew addiction long ago and he said "Well you could have worse addictions, but I'm sure glad MY wife doesn't have it?". Dude...like I said, let's keep it professional.
ReplyDeleteBack from the Robson Street store and it was nuts! I was sooooo surprised to see the local mark downs patching what I'm reading here. Got MY (yes MY) tessa top in purple for $35, Rambling Rose Popover for $58 (if anyone's looking for medium there are a bunch at my store), and the Monotone bead necklace for $25 (all colours were marked down). Other mark downs included the Puckered Dress I tried on just a couple weeks ago, $79, and the Lucille Eyelet for $109. Didn't get either dress as our summer season is so short, and I have no occasions to wear them to this year. Featherweight cardis are $35 in the solids, $58 in the colourblock versions. Not all the marked down items are in the sale section, you have to flip things out of the "wardrobes" or shelves to check. Anyway, happy hunting, Canadian JCAs!!
ReplyDeleteForgot to add, Tippi Linen Sweater in solids was $38. Striped version still FP.
DeleteHi Annie.....My big Dot shot skirt is a size 6. Hope you find one!
ReplyDeleteDo you mind telling me what store you returned it to? Thanks!
DeleteHi Annie....I haven't returned it yet. I'm waiting until I received my Pop Art polka dot pencil skirt to do a comparison. I should get it early next week. I can let you know what day and which store I return the Big Shot Polka Dot skirt to when it goes back. Ok? I'm pretty sure I'm going to like the Pop Art pencil skirt better.
ReplyDeleteThanks....would you email me?

Red Tillary Purse $49.99 - Cincinnati Kenwood
ReplyDeleteWhat? Why is the purple Tessa $69 and $35 at other stores?
ReplyDeleteIt was $29.99 at my store!
DeleteI think mine rang up about that based on my bank statement of the sale phew!
DeleteCha Cha dress is on promo at the Madison Ave Collection Store: $149.99.
ReplyDeleteSusan, thanks for posting that. I saw it on sale in SF and forgot to put it on the list.
DeleteOrdered the cha cha today from Madison Ave. Thanks for the tip. Also called SF for the Tillary purse (49.99). Picking up a pencil skirt and Tessa top on Tuesday from my local b&m. Thank you ladies. Started working with a PS. Will keep you posted. Had to secure the Tillary myself.
DeleteSpeaking of stores, can any NYC JCAs tell me which are the best stores in Manhattan? Any assistance appreciated!
ReplyDeleteI just reviewed some of my recent purchases from the J.Crew sale:

Desert Flower,
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the flagship 5th Avenue store. It's the most complete and if you have other family members, there's Crewcuts and Men's to keep them from getting bored. Other good stores are within walking distance: Anthro, Bananna/GAP, Kate Spade, Joe Fresh, Coach, Zara, Madewell (5th & 18th), Lululemon. There are nice restaurants at different price points and of course the Farmer's Market in Union Square for some bread, cheese and jam. Enjoy your trip!
I agree with Marie. I usually go there, and if out of town guests want to go shopping, I bring them to that area. Lots of stores and not crowded like Rockeller Center or Herald Sq. The Columbus Circle one isn't bad if you're already in the area, I think since it's less frequented, you can sometimes find nice stuff, and there's a men's store plus crew cuts. On a side note, you should visit a Uniqlo, my out of town friends love going. It's sorta like Gap but cheaper.
DeleteThank you for the good information, Marie and Hwin!
ReplyDeleteDesert Flower, I'd add that since the Fifth Avenue bus drops you almost right In front of the Flagship, you could start your shopping day at almost any JC location (just for the sake of completeness), and hop on or off the Fifth Ave. bus -- it goes downtown, passing, in turn, 79th Street Collection Store (tiny but lovely staff), 66th Street Collection Store (formerly the Wedding Store, lots of stuff you won't see anywhere else), Rockefeller Center Store -50th Street (across the street from Saks and St Pat's), 45th & Madison store (in prep central, Brooks Brothers, Paul Stuart, J.Press all just across the street), and then back on the bus to 15th Street. To help orient you, 20 city blocks (numbered streets) = 1 mile, and Fifth Avenue is just one block west of Madison. Have fun and wear comfortable shoes!
ReplyDeleteOk, I was in-store yesterday checking out the new markdowns (thanks, JCA's!). I brought my recently-purchased garment-dyed shir tdress in plum/purple just in case they lower the price on that. In stores, it was 10 cheaper but when I asked for a price adjustment, the SA AND manager said no-can-do. Apparently, when there's a second markdown (the extra 10 off), they can't price adjust. Since when?!? Has anyone else been told this?!? AND they told me I couldn't return it and re-purchase it either!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sick of this nonsense.
Alice - I've never requested an adjustment on sale items that were marked lower. I just re-buy and return if it's worth the time and what I would get back. Usually I end up getting something else, of course. The policy is definitely a price adjustment on full price merchandise within 7 days. If others are getting price adjs on sale items, they are lucky.
DeleteGreat, thanks for the info! I've had interesting experiences at my local J Crew and I think I was just frustrated...
DeleteIf anyone spots the Martina wedges in bronzed clay/nude in your store in a size 8, please please let me know! I am desperately trying to find them at the sale price with no luck thus far...Would love to wear them for my rehearsal dinner coming up in August
ReplyDeleteIrl pics of the anchors aweigh blouse, colorblock stripe silk blouse & stripe popover hoodie in this post. Links to other blogger pics there as well.
ReplyDeleteOT: Has anyone else experienced their Drapey striped tee (the neon orange and mint one specifically) shrinking after washing? I put mine on today after washing and the bottom hem is now only about an inch below my belly button. If you're thinking about buying this tee, might want to keep this in mind when choosing a size! Glad I did not buy the XS.
ReplyDeleteI got an email from my Personal Stylist from the downtown Seattle Store:
ReplyDelete"I just wanted to let you know that the new collection is going to be in store next Wednesday June 13th, and it's the last of our Summer launch. Yup, Fall is coming. Can you believe? We have also added many new items to our sale section, so there are some really good deals going on now.:)
Also, I would like to remind you that the Summer reward card expires on Friday June 15th, in case you haven't used yours yet."
Noooo...not ready for fall yet! Fall= going back to school :( I just started my summer vacation!
DeleteI know, right? It's not summer yet! Plus, it's been cooler in Seattle for June. Turn up the heat, I've got summer things to wear!
DeleteMy PS said new arrivals should be online on the 14th. I'm excited, but even more excited that there is only 1 more rollout until Fall items!
ReplyDeleteBTW to everyone about the price adjustment issue, I would highly recommend getting a personal shopper. Mine would ALWAYS adjust things that I had just ordered when they went on sale, and even give me online prices to match my store price even if I wasn't in the store. If you place your orders through them (with the exception of early morning pop-backs obvs.) they will take care of you! Mine left and I'm just starting out with a new one, but I think they all do that for their customers when they can.
My personal stylist is awesome. way more helpful than online or catalog.
DeleteDoes anyone know how much the boardwalk tote is in store's? I forgot to check the price the other day when I saw it in the sale section, but I think it'd make a great summer beach bag! Let me know!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Julie - I saw it for $34.99 in-store on 6/12 Tue.
DeleteHi everyone, OT once again, but I just posted the March 2008 catalog to The J. Crew Archives. Enjoy!
ReplyDeletecucina49, AllisonFay & Bella (sorry reply doesn't work for me)- I tried 2 different CS's to price match the martina tortoise wedges and was told by both of them that they have an written policy that, unless you are calling from a red phone in store, they aren't allowed to do it. Yet, other CS's have done it for me for other items. I think it just depends on who you get. I was really hoping that they would do it for me- they actually had my size on line, (for like 2 hours) but like you all, I can't bring myself to pay the $182.99 for them. I'm in Canada so it makes them even more expensive, but no less lovely. I've got my PS trying to hunt a pair down for me and she usually gets me the in-store price. Now if only a promo code would pop up tonight as well! I'll let you know if I'm successful with the PS route.
ReplyDeleteWest Coast Crewner: Is your PS online? Have been looking for an online PS since mine got promoted and would love a recommendation for a decent one!
DeleteStripe button-front dress is $34.99 in store
ReplyDeleteForgot one other item! Stripe Crystal Stretch Bracelet $19.99 (reg price online)
DeleteGrace, my online PS is Heather Hayes and so far I'm really impressed with her. I'm new to this PS thing so I'm wondering how people use their's? So far I've only used mine when I'm after something that's no longer on line but do others place all of their orders with PS's? Do PS's work on commission?
