Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the FALL sale, or to see some new FALL/WINTER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  3. I went last Wednesday and I tried on the highlights of the holiday Collection. Pics on my blog. Enjoy!

  4. ShopwithM -

I read your review on the Neon Azalea skirt and I am glad you have good things to report.

I had intended on purchasing regardless of the somewhat skepticism of others.

But it is gah-geous dahling! Thanks. 8v)

  5. Has anyone seen the JC Collection leather tee (item 38542) in a size Small in their local B & M? If yes, could you let me know which store? Thanks!

  6. Wearing my Crystal Button Cardigan for the first time today (from my 25% ship) and I am a little bit in love. Buttons are gold with a tiny little crystal in the middle... perfect for me because I am not big on "bling" so this adds just enough fun, and holiday spirit in my opinion, to the sweater. Super cozy on (not too delicate like I feared), and sleeves are not too tight which I was also worried about. Wearing the cream one over my navy striped silk crepe de chine boy shirt (that is probably not the correct name haha) and while I didn't think I would be crazy about seeing the stripes through the sweater, I cannot bear to take this off.

Will probably buy another color if I can get it on promo, really cannot say enough how cozy this is!

  7. Ema-- thanks for the pics of that glen plaid pencil skirt... i still really like it (pre-ordered it) and i'm excited to get it... just hoping i ordered the right size... i never know what to get in pencil skirts.

  8. Just heading back with another return - sadly, the heart sweater. Didn't live up to expecations - too short, too thin, and itchy on top of all that. Sure it will be on big sale eventually.

  9. Just stopping in to say hi! Haven't really felt the need to buy any of the current items, most of the pieces I want are way above my current budget, will wait for end of year or spring sales. I've been more focused on my obsession of finding older 2007-08 pieces on EBAY. Much more rewarding than loosing sleep on pop backs and the irritation of price adjustments and returns.
Have a good weekend all :)

  10. The printed roses flair skirt is down to $49.99 before discount, the other ones are $69.99. Nothing else notable to report from the stores but I could have missed something

  11. Scored the 2 thermals on sale but that was it. No pants left except loungewear :(

  12. Suzy,

I agree. That sweater is just sad:(

  13. 30% off sale was still going on. Overheard the SA specify 20% sweaters was off FP only.

  14. Hi ladies! I have a question for any petite ladies that have tried the Factory Black watch Tartan Wool Pants. I wear a size 00 in pants and I want to know if these pants run TTS or smaller in the size 0. Thank you!

  15. which thermals are marked down in store???

  16. LRA - others were saying that the black/ivory stripe and cinnamon stripe thermals were on sale. My sister picked me up the azalea stripe thermal today and it is not on sale.

  17. I just had to share this link with you ladies:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300613201620#ht_3049wt_1188

I wrote the seller to ask if the price was a typo and was told that it was not. HA!

    ReplyDelete
  18. @Alexia -- that's insane! And she's selling the silk driving scarf (yes, the one that got marked down to about $30 in spring) for $400 as well.

  19. Alexia -- That is hilarious!! Thanks for the laugh.

  20. Hi Shopwithm, thanks for the great pink skirt pics. I loved your last outfit, the orange with pink and black! It looked very contemporary.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Thanks Alexia, that was worth a look. I have a similiar blouse as the polka dot one that I paid around $30.00. (not $399.99) in one of the sales. Let's see what she actually sells since everything is very high priced.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Alexia,
I noticed that blouse earlier today and thought about asking the seller if it was a typo.....the seller is insane!!! I actually have that blouse and can't believe she is selling it for around $300 more than it originally retailed (and it went on sale).....talk about price gouging......especially in the current economy. And to top it off, the shipping is $13.95.....for a blouse.

  23. Hi all!

Stopped by the king of prussia store today and the 30% off sale promo was still ongoing. Some notable items and their prices were, before discount:

    Double serge flair skirt $69.99
No. 2 pencil skirt in metallic boucle $69.99
Hadley sweater (neutral colors & stripes) in L/XL $49.99
Hacking herringbone jacket in grass and charcoal $119.99
End on end perfect shirt with french cuffs $54.99

    Biella loafers $59.99
    Bellamy ankle boots $99.99

That's all I remember for now...

  24. Stopped by my local store today and since they don't carry the delicious items you ladies get to see in the larger stores there wasn't anything super exciting...just the same old marks downs on basics. Would have loved to have seen the flair skirts, end on end perfect shirt, and shoes L mentioned above but the Las Vegas store doesn't carry much.

I really think our store gets items weeks later. I will hear of items on sale at certain stores when we are just getting the item in....this is why I love this blog because I can ask for those discounts!

I just reviewed the Lucinda in Spicy Gold and Chestnut along with the Boy shirt in stripe crepe de chine, and Perfect shirt in clay check HERE

  25. @L

Was the end on end perfect shirt with cuffs that you saw on sale the french blue or pink?

    TIA!

  26. I stopped by my store this afternoon, and there were a TON of things on sale! I ended up getting 2 pieces of jewelry, but no clothes.

I tried on the Minnie pants in Vibrant Flame, and I want to know: has anyone else tried these on? The way it tapers at the bottom looks hideous on me. It tapered, but didn't end up skinny enough, so it made me look like I have cankles. And I'm 5'7", a size 4/6, and I have a pretty straight body, so I'm wondering if anyone with a different body shape looks better in these. I was so sad because I love the color, but I was not about the cankles.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh I forgot to mention: LRA, I only saw the vintage thermal henleys in my store, but all colors. Oh and the thermal sweatshirts.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Phoebe- the minnie's in vibrant flame were a disaster on me too. Almost comical how bad they were! I too am not thick and so I'm puzzled how they sold out so quickly at first? I don't have hips but I have some thighs and typically wear the lower sizes so I'm glad I wasn't the only one....

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm new to this and hope it wasn't already posted, but my local store had all sweaters at 20% off. It was just a promo so could be stacked with the student discount :)

  30. Stopped by my store tonight and am now a little obsessed with the Cafe Capris in Wool Plaid - they are just so adorable! I would really like to buy them, but I'm concerned about how much wear I will realistically be able to get out of them. Any thoughts - I need someone to sway me one way or another!

    ReplyDelete
  31. MegCrew: I'm glad I'm not alone!

Caitlin: If you can think of at least 3 outfits you can create with the pants (using things already in your closet, shoes included!), go for it. If you can't, then don't buy them. That's always my rule of thumb. However, I think they'd be cute with a simple white button down, either belted with a skinny brown belt or tucked in, or you could put a camel cable knit sweater over the button down (not tucked) and that'd be cute too. They would be cute tucked into flat brown boots or with neutral (nude/off cream) ballet flats. I could also picture the pants with a cable knit black turtleneck sweater and simple black flats. Or you could go full out equestrian with a tweed blazer. HTH

  32. LOL what's up with the Silk Chiffon Sophie dress on the website? So random!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I plan to go in today... I have a couple of returns and want to pick up a hacking jacket and see what skirts my store has. Has anyone seen the mixed tape cardis in their store?

  34. OT: Free Shipping on Blazers, Vests, and Outerwear online right now. :)(Factory doesn't appear to be included.)

    ReplyDelete
  35. @megcrew

they had both neon pink and blue, though more/almost all sizes in the pink

    hth! :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Caitlin-

Some additional thoughts on the cafe capris in wool plaid - a navy blouse (I ordered one from BR that looks similar to the JCrew Talia or Wreath or whatever it is) with gold bangles and black pumps. I also really like the idea of the camel cable sweater, but I think I'd wear it with pumps as well.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hi MegCrew, thanks for the reviews. I am partial to the Lucindas as well. I hope they put the colors you showed on sale soon online. I wasn't sure the chestnut color worked with my skin tone but I love that color with the acorn skirt.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Short review on the "Heart me" sweater - got the camel color, with the black heart. Cute colorway, but the sweater itself is thin, scratchy, boxy, and short. 55% wool, 30% nylon, and 15% cashmere.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hi everyone! In search for the tippi sweater in leopard in a size Small or medium. Anyone happen to see it in stores? If so, which location? Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Kris,

What is the style name of the BR shirt that you bought that looks like the Talia? I've been coveting that shirt for a long while now, but I could accept a cheaper knockoff. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I tried on some new items today. I was really hopeful about the stripe sweater-dress, but it was awful. Very shapeless. Those who can wear a belt (not me, believe me I've tried) can make it work. I really like the honeycomb sweater on - nice shape and it made my broad shoulders look small. However, it was too itchy for me. :( They had one Wynter sweater in the black/natural combo and I didn't like it. If the natural was ivory, it would have been prettier IMO. I have discovered the love of the thermal tees. :) I have the pink one on hold for me to be rung up on black Friday. The Bennet chino in orange (didn't look at the color code) are also on hold. My sister got the glimmer long sleeve tee and my ps honored the 30% off. :) He's betting that the promo prices are gone for next week's black Friday promo (25% off $150).

    ReplyDelete
  42. One more review, I tried on the tinsel lace skirt and needed to size up. I couldn't even zip it all the way. :) I liked it, but my sister didn't. It was nice to have a fuller skirt option that was special. The sandstone silver is very pretty and I'd love this skirt on a super markdown. It's a little more special than I need, but for a great price I'd get it.

  43. Leah-

It is the button boatneck, but it doesn't appear to be available on the site anymore. Maybe in store?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I went earlier today and fell in love with the Heart Me sweater. Picked it up in the black/green combo. I have a green button-down that matches perfectly so I think I'll wear those together. :)

  45. I am from Vancouver Canada and am more than willing to go to Seattle for the much lower prices of J Crew. I have been to the factory store and have had some luck. What about the three BM's in Seattle ? Is the downtown one the largest? Does the university or Bellevue loctions carry shoes? i hope to go down right after xmas for sales. I am a size large intops and some meduim skirts fit but pants are another story. If anyone could comment on Seatlle stores or after xmas sales...I thank you in advance. I am new to being a j crew aficionado but am lovin it. Carolyn in Vancouver B.C Canada

  46. Hi Everyone- Visited two Jcrew stores in the Minneapolis St Paul area and both were having 20% off sweaters. Neither store had any cashmere in stock just the acrylic mixes. I lump them all into one category. They were shedding all over the beautiful pants in the store. There was a fairly large sale section with the herringbone minnies and herringbone hacking jackets broth charcoal and green. There were some Cece ballets on sale and lots of tees, the flair skirt with the buttons down the front. I did see the special in store only color of the pencil skirt. It is nice. It is like a muted light dahlia. The heart sweater was in stock. It was a pass for me.

  47. Hi Carolyn in Vancouver~
You can't go wrong with any of the three B&Ms in Seattle area. They are all well stocked, though I believe it is only U Village that carries shoes (any fellow Seattle JCAs please correct me if I'm wrong). I like the U Village store because it is bigger and more spread out than downtown and Bellevue Square. It is also next door to Madewell and in close proximity to Anthro which can be nice. Second fave location is Bellevue Square. I've found the SAs in all three locations to be very friendly.
You're a lucky lady - Vancouver is such a fabulous city!!

Thanks for the tips. I was hoping to hear that they are well stocked.
I would really like some shoes/boots.I will go to the university store first.
J Crew online prices for us Canadians are way higher.I read in our newspapers that J crew is not being very savy by pricing so high.We are not that ingorant of prices and will wait for a trip to the usa to save. At least I will. I am seriously dying to go to the Seattle stores.
I would never order online because I find the sizes ,higher $ and $ for shipping all lead to a shopping nightmares. I am in my forties...and assume madewell is too young for me? Vancouver does have its pleasures but shopping is not one...we have no crate and barrel ...no west elm and no target.
I am looking forward to spending my Santa money after at the sales.
All you gals/guys are so much help on this site...you all go above and beyond to help...its so refreshing. Carolyn

  50. Went to the Southlake TX store to return the funnelneck pullover and Tippi sweater. XXS for both fit me exactly, but I'm going to have to size up if I want to wear any layers underneath!

Made the usual mistake of checking out the sale section and pulling a ton of stuff to try on. Everything on sale was under the add'l 30% final sale deal.

I wound up getting the blouson paisley dress ($48.99), v-neck jenna's cardigan (27.99), Cece patent bow ballet flats ($55.99).

Tried on the Fisherman and Hadley sweaters (XS) which turned out to be very unflattering on me. To say the least I looked short and round. Didn't even want to try sizing up or down.

I didn't really bother looking at the new items since I don't need to be spending anymore money!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I tried on the mini felted wool skirt and it was WONDERFUL. Loved the fit.

    Sadly I can't afford a 98$ skirt.

Do you guys think it'll go on sale soon? :(

  52. What are the black Friday deals like? And do they do any online deals?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Off Topic: I just sent an e-mail to "Contact Us" at J Crew to complain about my brand new ballet tee, which developed multiple holes after the first wearing (hasn't even been washed yet!) Is there a better way to get in touch with customer service? It is realistic to expect either a refund or replacement item? I've been unusually fortunate with my J Crew shopping to date and this is my first issue. Thanks for any help.

    ReplyDelete
  54. @Miss JR - another JCA mentioned somewhere that the black Friday promo is 25% off $150 in store. (That's also what it was last year when I went.) I can't remember if they had any promos online last year.

@taoruns - I've had good experiences using the email to contact customer service. Whoever responds will give you their extension so you can also call them. You could also call the 800 number and speak to customer service that way. I'm pretty sure that they will offer a refund or replacement, they will likely ask you to bring it into a store or mail back to the warehouse first. I'm usually impressed with their customer service so I believe they will take care of you.

  55. I visited the Toronto store on Friday and hit the sale section, where they were offering additional 30% off. I picked up the navy blue polka dot silk popover tee, and would have gotten the liquid silk skirt but was stopped short when I was told that all sale items with the additional % off were final sale. Considering that I could just order the skirt online without the final sale, I decided to give it a pass. Besides that, there was a full size selection of the leopard No. 2 pencil skirt, and plenty of the Hadley sweaters. There were also a couple of the Darlington pursettes in the blue colourway, probably returns - they looked a bit battered and sad.

I saw the Cashmere Bateau Sweater and fell in love but nearly fell over when I saw the price tag - $578 for Canadians! Ouch!! Hopefully I can get it at a better price during the holiday sales. The cashmere is super thick and luxurious feeling. I also saw the wildcat print top and dress but I'm not feeling the love like other JCAs are, I guess because it's a viscose blend, not silk.

  56. Some great deals here down In South Florida... $47.00 for the Wool Plaid Cafe Capri's, $42.00 for the flair skirts. They had a ton of sweaters at really great prices. Manager said that they will get Holiday #2 on December 5 and then resort a week later. Plus, he said that they are going to start to get warm climate attire, no more of the coats etc, that we can't wear down here - YEAH!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. @Louise: Great to hear we finally have a sale section at the Toronto store! YAY!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I finally got to shop in a store :> They had the Cece ballets on sale- studded suede, patent bow, and tortoise shell pattern. I got 2 pairs for around $55 each, these are the first flats that stay on my feet and look decent, and I love the inside wedge. Anyway, I'm now into ballets, uh-oh. They had a pretty decent number in stock between sizes 6-7.5. Also on sale, was the french cuff shirt in blue and pink-I got the blue and know they had a size 4 also as I tried it on. I got a pair of the high waisted skinny cords on sale, which was a surprise love for me, and want more colors now; they had the black and a brown on sale. They also had a good rack of the tweed pencil skirt that is gray. Oh and also they had the herrignbone minnies on sale, a good handful but no size 0s. This is the North Ave. store in Chicago if anyone interested. My conclusion is that it is SO worth going into a store to try things on. Not only am I KEEPING all that I got, but the store had items on sale that the online store does not.
