Go for it: EXTRA 30% OFF fall sale items continues, in stores & online

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Irina, GigiOfCa (in this post), as well as A Bigger Closet (in this post), who shared the following email & news from J.Crew.

J.Crew is reminding customers to take 30% off all sale items (no min) with promo code MUSTHAVE. This offer expires Sunday, November 20, 2011.

I am happy to see that there have been a few good updates to the sale section– including this morning! From the looks of the stock numbers (women at 890+ items earlier this morning and now at 840+), things are moving quickly. :)

Will you be checking out the Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

  1. Just a reminder that Promo-priced items get the extra 30% off, as well. I have a post up this morning that lists the majority of them on the website right now. Click here to see it. :)

  5. ajc,
I got mine that had been backordered and it was defective!

  6. Some new stuff on clearance... Polka dot blouse ($59.99), liquid silk skirt ($99.99), flared perfect coat ($249.99), that orange sequin blouse that I am pretty sure JUST came out...

  7. I'll be visiting the Oak Brook store today after a meeting nearby ... does anyone know if there are promos or add'l % off in stores?

I'll report back if I see anything special.

  8. I picked up the Royal Paisley skirt during the 25% off sale and just got it today. I love it. It's true that the print is spring-y, but with a cable turtleneck and tights, it's great for the season. Also, it's a more substantial cotton than spring skirts. Definitely recommended, especially at 30%!

  9. Lauren S,

Glad you liked yours:0 Mine is going back!

  10. I'm trying so hard not to bite b.c I ordered the double serge skirt in viridian green. Still waiting for it...getting so impatient! Although I did notice that the expected to ship date is now the end of December instead of the beginning of January. Hopefully that means they've got a bit more stock and I'll get it soon! crossing my fingers.

    ReplyDelete

  18. Just came back from my store NJ Riverside and a lot of items are marked down with additional 30% off sale (final sale though). Hacking jackets are now marked down to $119 + 30%off, a pretty good deal!!! Also, scarves are 25% off and sweaters 20%off

  19. The pencil skirt in jazzy purple popped back online last night but was gone before I could check out....:-( Wonder if it was a return or if they will finally have more inventory of that one. It sold out in like three nano seconds and I'm still bemoaning that I don't have it.

  20. I had a terribly stressful week, so I popped into the B&M for a little retailtherapy. I had looked online this morning and saw the sale section was finally updated, but I abandoned my cart once shipping got tacked on, lol.

So today I got the Nightfall Floral scarf, which indeed is gorgeous in person. BUT my PS cautioned me to look it over carefully as it does snag easily.

I also picked up 2 finespun tanks which were down to $9.99 pre-discount; I'd been looking for the Bright Dahlia one in a small for some time now, and got the white one just because.

Last but not least I couldn't resist the black and ivory thermal henley. I won't wear it often, but I know that when I do it will wrap me in cuddly happiness. Only the black one and the henna one were marked down in my store.

All in all, about $64 for all that. Sounds good to me.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Elaine, the black & ivory striped thermal henley is already on sale?? Wow! I might have to stop by the store on the way home.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I caved. Royal paisley skirt reviewed here.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Love hearing the in store reports! Thanks Elaine.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Just got the leather tee, thank you ladies for the info!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm so psyched--I got the Hacking Jacket in Heather Grape for $83! Love the red phone :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. (original)Genny: I'm curious what you didn't like about the skirt? TIA :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. how much was the black/cream thermal marked down to?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Are only the herringbone hacking jackets on sale? Or has anyone seen the wool ones on markdown yet?

    ReplyDelete
  29. The thermals are $24.99 plus 30% off and only the herringbone hacking jackets are currently on sale.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Did they have the thermals in azelea in store? If so were they on sale also?

    ReplyDelete
  31. @ Lauren: where was the jacket on sale? It's regularly priced online.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Dissertante, it was on-sale at my B&M in Seattle. They didn't have the purple (just the green and gray), but CS honored the sale price ($119) plus the 30% off over the phone.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Lbelle - I know that some stores have the thermal crew in azalea stripe but it just came out and I don't think it's on sale yet.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I totally would have bit this morning on some accessories and basics (did my major shopping during the last promo) but the shipping stopped me! Now nearly everything that was in my cart is gone :(

Now I miss even the free ship over $100 promos!

    ReplyDelete
  35. If anyone has the No 2 pencil skirt in vintage tweed, blush, did you size up from your No 2 double serge wool skirt size or take the same size? I was wondering if the tweed skirt was smaller in size/tighter or TTS?
    Thanks so much!

    ReplyDelete
  36. @Jan, I took my regular no. 2 pencil skirt size in the Vintage Tweed.

    ReplyDelete
  37. jan, I took the same size in those skirts as in the double serge wool ones.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anyone actually have the chunky cashmere crewneck sweater? every time there is a promotion it is listed as 'sold out' ;) but it looks so nice darn it!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ooooh. I thought I was totally done buying clothes for the year -- and I thought that THIS time (versus the other many times I've said that this year!) I could do it, with only a few weeks left in 2011!

But no. I went to my local B&M (Tyson's VA) to do some returns and the sale section was so well stocked that I had to look. The herringbone hacking jacket is on sale for $119.99 instore, as mentioned -- I picked up the charcoal in a 2 and the flame (LOVE this color) in 4P, a perfect fit. This store also has the flair skirt in navy on sale for $69.99, before discount, so I picked that up as well. If anyone is interested, this store also still has the flair skirts in acorn, floating rose, and the plaid (which is further reduced to $49.99, before discount). This store also has the winsome dress, if anyone is still interested, but am not sure of the sizes left.

Lots of accessories and shoes marked down as well, including the crystal burlee bracelet (item 61782, orig. price $45, on sale for $29.99 before discount). This bracelet is a little obnoxious in pink, but it's just so happy -- got the blue, pink and rose dust.

  40. OT, but my ps sent me an email allowing me to shop early for black Friday, then they'll ring up the purchases that day with 25% off and I can pick up later. I'm not sure if this is just something he's being allowed to do as a ps or (my guess) that JC is actually going to offer a black Friday promo. Anyway, thought I'd let everyone know so you can check at your b&m. If it is a promo, JC must really be hurting as this will be the 3rd time in, what, 8 weeks?

As for the 30% off, I'll be checking my b&m this weekend.

  41. I ordered the gold jacquard metallic foil top using We Will Find It For You but they didn't give me the extra 30% off on top of the student discount (even though my sales associate said they would, and confirmed it with the associate on the phone). I just called customer service and was told that they probably won't end up giving me the 30% off. I'm kind of disappointed, as I usually have really good luck with discounts and red phone orders (a couple weeks ago I ordered the scoopneck silk top in Wreath and two Tippi sweaters, both backordered, over the red phone, and was also able to get a price adjustment to match the 25% off that began a few days later). Any recommendations?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Lauren S, which store was that in Seattle?

    ReplyDelete
  43. The price on the liquid silk skirts dropped. They are stunning, sexy, modest and comfortable--who knew that could exist in one skirt?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I bought the wool cafe capris in houndstooth last night in a store. I had been eyeing them for a while. They were 79.99 minus 30% and then the SA also applied my educator's discount (without my asking - though they didn't do that for sale items). So they came to $43. Not bad! They are final sale though.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oops - above should read "thought they didn't do that for sale items".

    ReplyDelete
  46. Caroline, Bring the item back to your local store and they should apply the discount. I have had excellent luck with the red phone and applying both teacher and 30% off discounts (on top of free shipping.) If you get a decent SA at the store they will adjust for you.

Courtney, They started applying both discounts several months ago. It used to be that you couldn't get both, but that changed. Nice, isn't it :))

It's been sold out everytime I've checked too. The picture of the sweater has been changing though, so it is possible it's been popping back and selling. Hard to know if you're not 'early-morning-stalking'.

    ReplyDelete
  48. math teacher- I wonder about Black Friday. I personally can't partake, have to work, but I hope it would be offered online as I can shop at 5am online :>

Gap/OldNavy sent an email offering % off this weekend to get a jump start. It's in the air.

  50. Last year I went to a JCrew b&m on Black Friday and the only promotion was 25% off when you spent a certain amount (I think it was $150).

    ReplyDelete
  51. I love the Womens Timex Traveller watch and at $54 a great deal on sale + 30%. Changing out the bands is fun.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Not a sale topic but I just managed to purchase the pencil skirt in Jazzy Purple. So for any of you ladies who have also been stalking it, it looks like it is popping back up lately. I saw it the other night briefly but didn't get check out fast enough. Fingers crossed that it ships but it's worth a shot if you loved the color but missed it in September.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Josanne - I did *not* need to know that the ladies Timex is on sale! Aahh! I am so tempted to order one. They even have some watch straps on sale. You said that you like it. Any one else vote yay or nay? I am 40 - am I too old for a watch with nylon straps?

    ReplyDelete
  54. I ordered the Arianna pumps in roasted chestnut - 30% off sale price and free shipping, too!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Kristen, sorry and to make it worse I just tested one in my shopping cart and it was not final sale. I am 56 so I think 40 is a totally appropriate age for a nylon strap. LOL. I think I have all the straps and love picking one in the morning. Go for it...

    ReplyDelete
  56. Josanne - thanks! You've pushed me over the edge. With no final sale I can at least try it, right? If I like it then I can ask for some cute straps for Christmas. I just wonder sometimes if some things are best left to the coed crowd, hence my doubts about being able to pull off the timex. I noticed danibp wears hers well so I'm going to give it a shot! I love the white face of this one.

Thanks so much for posting about this being on sale (I think.... ;) ) I had not noticed it being on promo.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Well I wanted the striped cashmere sweater and the chunky knit cashmere crewneck but both are sold out. Neither are reduced in the stores so it looks like I'm going to be thwarted here. I'd get just one but neither is available and I imagine there are maybe just one or two of these items that have been released for the sale. I bet both will be in stock once the promo ends. Had there been free shipping (which I assumed there might be--wrongly) I'd have got the striped sweater but by the time I decided I needed it, someone else picked it up.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I was SO CLOSE to pressing the submit button this morning but the fact that I still had to pay shipping considering the cost of my order stopped me dead in my tracks. More on principle than anything. I hope they pull something magical like adding free shipping on the last day of the promo!

    ReplyDelete
  59. @Kristin - I'm late 40s, and just picked up the Timex yesterday without a second thought about it appearing too young! The watch itself is very classic, and they do have a lovely calf hair strap available. My PS was kind enough to honor the 30% off sale price in-store.

    ReplyDelete
  60. opheliasmom, glad you like the Timex. But wait the straps can be an addition. Good job, they go on sale and usually a discount for purchasing more than one. Let's see if Kristin bought one...

    ReplyDelete
  61. opheliasmom and Josanne - I did, I ordered one! I'm on the west coast though so it won't be here for a while though, shipping takes forever. I'm really looking forward to trying it. I think it will be especially nice in the summer to not wear a metal banded watch. Thank you both for your comments!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Does anyone have any leads as to whether the online promo might be extended an extra day? Perhaps through a PS? On the last day of the last promo, a JCA (sorry I can't recall who!) said it was to be extended and they were right. TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Contacted J Crew and they are completely out of the chunky cashmere sweater :( . Which begs the point--why don't they take the picture down? I suspect they didn't make too many and there were maybe a handful at best on sale. Oh well. I'd been planning on making this sweater a major centerpiece of my fall wardrobe, possibly investing in the tan as well as the green, but I guess I'll find something else.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Thank Kristin, opheliasmom and Josanne! I just got the Timex watch, too...and the calf hair strap (not on sale). I have wanted that watch for a while now and wouldn't have realized it had hit the sale section if I hadn't seen you all discussing it. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  65. patsystone and kristin, congrats on your timex purchase. I meant to say the bands are an 'addiction'. I just picked up the calf hair and red strap...so I think my collection is complete, of course until they bring out new ones. And remember that watch is good way into your 50's..LOL

    ReplyDelete
  66. I swear I saw at a store a hot pink snakeskin strap. I didn't pay much attention since that was before I'd ordered mine. The straps seem to get marked down a lot, it will be fun collecting them. Josanne - you deserve a commission! Thanks too for approving it for all ages... :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Kristin, you are right, I have the snakeskin one in the bronze color. the hot pink was too much for me.
