A big "thanks!" to Em who shared the following {fantastic} news with us! J.Crew is hosting a "Regional Sample Sale" in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This event takes place July 16-25.The location for the store is:

I have a feeling this Sample Sale will not be like the ones held in NYC. (Which is a good thing. Those NYC ones are crappy.) I am so jealous of those living near by!

Now all I have to do is convince my hubby we HAVE to visit our best friends who happen to live less than 3 miles from Hanes Point Mall. :) LOL.
ReplyDeleteWonder if these were like sales of old? They used to rent space in Burlington (about 30-45mins east of WS) and clear out inventory. Boxes and boxes of things with no dressing rooms.

ReplyDeleteWhere can I find more information about this? I'm assuming it will be more heavily publicized around Winston when it gets closer to the 16th, but I'd hate to miss out!
ReplyDeleteSarah, assuming it's like the sales they have every month in Arden, NC, no. They have a range of sizes. Although, most of the items that are actual samples will be 2, 4, 6, and small... there will be plenty of non-sample items. And shoes in all sizes!

ReplyDeleteI went yesterday (it's by JoAnn Fabric, the Christian store, the baseball place, and a bunch of mattress shops) and it wasn't very good. There were a ton of people and basically about 40 big tables lined up with huge boxes on top, below, off to the side. Everything was supposed to be organized (as the signs indicated) but it's all been picked around so much that there's no rhyme or reason to anything. It took me ten minutes to realize the box of men's shirts I was looking for didn't exist.
ReplyDeleteIt also looked like most of the clothing was cast-offs from the warehouses nearby. Like J Crew couldn't sell these pieces. That usually means a ton of extra smalls, extra larges, and crappy styles that didn't sell well. I wouldn't waste your time on this one, sadly.
