Sneak Peek Into J.Crew's July Offerings {yey!}
A very big "thanks!" to SC Crew, who was kind to share with us this sneak peek into J. Crew's July 2009 new arrivals. There is a little something for everyone here: men, women, boys, and girls! :)
I am super excited about seeing these photos of upcoming new arrivals, even after J.Crew updated their website with some new summer additions just a few days ago (refer to this post)! ;) The men's items look fantastic!
What are your thoughts on the items slated for upcoming Summer 2009? Which items do you love or would leave? ;)

And now back to J.Crew! :)
The floral print skirt and top are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOT... For anyone still looking for the giraffe-print shorts, i saw a few over the weekend at the las vegas fashion mall, they had about four in sizes 4 and 6 and they were on sale.
I LOVE the skirt in the 6th pic
ReplyDeleteI love the photos! I don't know if I'll be able to handle wearing cardigans in the Texas summer heat, but they look lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the last pic, beige skirt and sweater. It would probably look terrible and washed out on me though
ReplyDeleteThanks for the peek!
I agree with Miss Penny Z the floral skirt and top are amazing! Definitely looking forward to those pieces, hopefully they will be affordable.
ReplyDeleteOoh, pretty! I love the ikat-ish shorts and the stripey(gingham?) belt in the second picture.
ReplyDeleteThank you SC Crew for the photos :)
That printed brown/chocolate/blue floral pencil skirt looks amazing for all seasons! I am loving prints on the bottom half right now, so that is a definite must.. Yum
ReplyDeleteNot excited yet, but the brown/blue skirt caught my eye.
ReplyDeleteFYI -- I saw 2 crocodile cocktail jackets at Walnut Creek, CA in sizes 4 & 6. It was on Memorial Day. Sorry for the late info. I forgot about them.
The brown/blue floral skirt is gorgeous, looks versatile enough to go into fall. Want that!
ReplyDeleteOT but maybe of interest ... I had a rare (for me) great JC outlet experience yesterday. They had a darling eyelet skirt, lined, cotton but decent quality, fitted but slight A-line, for 64.50 and 30% off. White and black, I got black. Really pretty, can be dressed up or down.
More cardigans, more pencil skirts, more hip-slung jeans and chinos.....dull.
ReplyDeleteI like the brown/blue paisley skirt. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the dark peony colored cardi!! Looks like there could be some cute stuff coming our way :)
ReplyDeletewow, thanks SC Crew! I, too, love the brown/blue floral pencil skirt. Beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteClassic J.Crew for the summer. Very Hamptons looking and it works for me. Nothing too out there or possibly off, just good classic looks you can rely on.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the new, J. Crew dress featured in the new In Style Magazine -- Rebecca Romiyn on the cover -- dress is on page 83. I call it the "Dalmation dress" -- black irregular dots on a white background. It's 50's style dress with belt. I love it in the magazine but looking forward to seeing it IRL if and when it shows up in the stores. Check it out!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the photos SC Crew and Alexis.
ReplyDeleteThe paisley skirt caught my eye as well. It's the same pattern as the cotton-silk paisley perfect shirt, only a different color. I have the shirt on order and can't wait to get it.
Also like the soft-looking jean jacket and black & white shorts. The blue jacket would be a nice twist with the brown skirt, too.
The textured mini looks interesting in the soft neutral color. Is there a slight sheen to it? Hard to tell on my screen. Maybe the same fabric as the pinpoint quilted blazer?
The shawl-collared sweater for men in that ivory color would be great on my husband with his light summer tan.
July looks promising, which is good. I wasn't interested in much from the June rollout.
Love the blue-brown print and am looking forward to seeing it IRL. Also thought the textured mini looked interesting. Something to look forward to!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Love the blue print skirt. I'm also wondering if I can order that male model....yumm!!! I'll take two!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the brown & blue floral skirt. Looks like J. Crew might be adding some bolder colors and prints which will be a nice change from the muted pastels.
ReplyDeleteme too! Love the brown/blue print! I hope they make lots of them. . . and a skirt that's not a pencil.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the textured mini skirt. It looks like a classic, seasonless piece. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI find bold prints on the bottom to be a challenge for me to complete the outfit so the brown skirt is likely a pass.
A couple things I don't see - chiffon and ruffles, yay! I hope that is over and done. Except for the little girl's skirt of course. Ruffles are fine for little girls anytime. For myself, I've had enough.
Annegav - I just emailed the picture of the dress from InStyle to Alexis, so all can see it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am loving the blue/brown pencil skirt!
Thank you SC Crew and Alexis for the sneak peek.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the comments on the floral print skirt and top. The colours are rich and should work well in the fall and winter as well as summer.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the July arrivals.
I am not so sure about the male library shawl cardi in there,it looks exacly like the women's version. I sincerely doubt my husband would wear something he has seen me in so often or he would think I am losing it trying to dress us alike.
ReplyDeleteLove the cardi and mini in the last pic. Of course the mini will be too short, but I can dream. Blue & brown skirt is so pretty, too!
ReplyDeleteI can't decide if I love or hate the $195 rosette tee (new arrival on website). It's a whole lotta rosettes for a whole lotta money. It only comes in navy (which I love), but I think maybe they're going too far with the super expensive tees. And how many rosettes can one torso handle at a time?
ReplyDeleteI can't see the photos! Alexis, can you post the original link or post them another way?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Thanks for the peek at the July rollout. Like some of the others, I am all over that brown/blue paisley skirt. Nice!
ReplyDeleteThe brown skirt certainly looks like a transition piece that will work well into fall. It's very pretty. I really like the mini in the last photo.

Thanks so much for sharing! I always love a sneak peek. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have a white JCrew jacket similar to the blue denim one featured and I wear it a lot. Really flattering and functional with the four pockets. I like the soft, summer color of this one in blue.
I usually spend a lot more on fall/winter than spring/summer so I'm looking forward to the July rollout when typically some fall items start to make an appearance.
I like the blue print skirt too. And I'm loving the dark red (is it "rust") cardi. The print shorts are nice too. Argh, damn shopping bans...

Hi ladies - disappointment alert!
ReplyDeleteI just received the pleated cotton strati tank (16711) in warm shell. Gorgeous color and fit - but home to one of those horrible side zippers! I only ordered after not reading anything about a side zip in the description. It comes down to about 2" from the bottom and caused the entire left side to bulge out and back in. Very bummed - just wanted to alert the other JCA's that aren't a fan of the side zip (and I know there are quite a few!).
silver_lining,
ReplyDeletethanks! Why don't they mention this in the product info blurb? The images don't help, either (the backseam on the metallic version kind of looks like a zipper, but you can tell there is no back zip in the front view). In the other images, even if you zoom in it is hard to tell.
I really like the confetti bateau top, and I think it having a back zip really helps give it a more flattering line.
Everyone: Thanks for sharing your take on the upcoming items!!!
ReplyDeleteSC Crew: Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Cortney Joy: I am sorry to hear you can't see the images. Try the following link: Click here
Marietta: I will check my email right now and post it soon! Thanks for sharing!!! :)
Gimme the brown/blue skirt!! And that rusty colour (the cardi) is starting to grow on me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pics!!
I can't wait to see what crazy summer baubles they come out with...
I love the brown/blue skirt, the rust sweater, and the necklace with the rust sweater looks promising.
ReplyDeleteAlexis, thanks for posting.
Anonny and SC Crew - thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI tried the link and it was blocked at work (flickr, I guess?) so I will have to wait until tonight at home and see if it works.
And thanks Alexis too! My work computer has an ancient browser, so it may work at home. I was just so anxious to see right away...you know how it is!
ReplyDeleteWow!! LOVE the skirts.
ReplyDeleteHi silver_lining:
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up on the strati tank. I find those side zips a pain in the neck. I like tastymoog's suggestion of a back zip.
Sometimes, if the tank has enough of a seam allowance and if it can be pulled on with or without being zipped up (and if I love it enough), I just have a tailor remove the side zip.
I don't know if it would work for the strati tank, but it's worked for some of the other styles.
Hope that helps and that the tank can be saved :)
Ruffles - I saw the eyelet skirt at J'Crewlet. Didn't try it on, but I agree -- very cute.
ReplyDeleteIndigoGirl - Excellent tip about removing the zipper.
