Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I'll probably stop by JCrew or Madewell sometime this week. I'll be receiving packages this Wednesday from both stores, and I'll see what will be a keeper and a return.

Also looking forward to seeing JCrew's Pinterest photos for next week's roll-out. Check your Pinterest by Sunday!

Unless someone has photos they'd like to share? Hehe...

  2. I didn't go by the store but I did have an SA find a pair of the black lace floral pull on pants for me this morning. They were marked down to $69.99 with extra 40% off so I am pleased with that price. I think they will be a fun alternative to black pants.

    1. I'm tempted to get them each time they pop back but I'm not sure about that elastic waistband. Did you size down? I read other reviews that said they run big. They look absolutely adorable with leopard shoes.

    2. They had been on my radar all season until I started seeing people post pics and reviews. Then sure enough I was reading inStyle at the gym and there was a section on lace and there they were!

    3. Hi, Suz. I retried the pink ones on recently. I would say size down or you get baggy crotch and legs. You can check out the review on my blog here

    4. @OperaRach, thanks. Great reviews! Very helpful. I especially love the bow back shirt on you and the sparkle blazer. I was considering the bow back shirt but thought it might be too cropped and boxy on me (I think my torso is longer than yours) but it looks great. And funny about the blazer—years ago I got a tweed blazer with silver thread, it was very retro style with a tulip shaped hem and kind of cropped. Totally dressed up jeans and a plan sweater or black skirt/pants. I barely ever wear it but it's a great piece in the closet. (Which is why I didn't look at this year's version.)

    5. Oops, my post above should have said they HADN'T been on my radar until I started seeing pics.

    6. I did order the smaller of my two sizes if that makes sense based on the reviews and other elastic waist pants I have purchased from J.Crew. Although they are totally sold out online in black it only took a few minutes for me to find my size. Coming out of a store in Georgia and it looks like I am going to get them tomorrow. I can post a review when I receive them.

    7. Agree to size down. Ordered my regular and one down. Regular had saggy knee and legs. One down was the much better fit. For the price they are a great black pants alternative!

    8. If they ever pop back again I'll try that. Does anyone know if the top part (waistband and pockets) fits like the turner pant from last winter/spring? I have those and liked them aside from the elastic cuff which bugged me. (My 17 year old now wears them all the time so they weren't a total loss!)

    9. I liked the legs of the lace pants, but I really hope JCrew nixes the elastic waist band next year or at least hides it. It's just not a flattering look to me and causes too much crotch bunching. It was in every summer pant and short.

    10. I have the same sentiment as Jessica.

    11. I almost never size down in J. Crew pants, but I sized down in the elastic waist lace pants. I tried both sizes and the smaller size looked better for sure. I had a little trouble with the back waistband pulling down a bit, but it was a minor thing.

  3. Suz Has: I agree with OperaRach, definitely size down!

  4. I did stop in my local store Park Meadows in Colorado today it was 50% off sale items, but selection was picked over. I did hear that unfortunately the numbers at this store have been off and they will be not renewing their lease. The planned closing is scheduled for end of this month. I am saddened by this news for the employees there but not surprised, wonder if there are any others?

    1. That's too bad. I think J. Crew took their strong sales years the wrong way. They did have some excellent years, a few years back, but I don't think that was normal for them or for any retailer. It shouldn't have been a sign to expand and go change everything that was working. I think there will be more closings too. Makes me sad too, but I think the company overreached and I expect a contraction.

    3. This was my store! Had not hear this news.

I still hope J Crew works its way back to health. Posters on this blog have offered many good suggestions to the company. Wish they'd have taken them to heart.

    4. I still struggle with the failures at J Crew. They REJECTED the formula that led to their success. They got too important for their base client. Their heads got too big and they thought they were 5th Avenue. And then their quality fell apart (literally and figuratively)

      - and then Mickey blames us! We've aged out!?!? seriously? Please!

    5. LilyBart, Mickey may be confusing aging out with having bought enough clothes to last a lifetime :) I'd buy a lot more at J. Crew, if I hadn't already bought a lot at J. Crew. My closet is full, not much need for more clothes. But I don't think that's what he means by aging out. And unfortunately, a lot of the strange designs are being rejected by a wide age range of customers.

    6. JRSConifer So sorry to hear that your store is closing. I would be devastated. Hopefully there are other stores that aren't too far. I was able to locate and order a few things from that location over the years and they were efficient and pleasant.

    7. Thanks ShoppingCelle. The vibe at the store has been off since the fall, my favorite SAs left and they used to be a reason to stop in and I always seemed to purchase something. There is another store at Cherry Creek, if J Crew gets its act together.
