Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Just got shipping notices. 5 items in an order, shipped in 5 packages. This is ridiculous. It just happened with American Eagle, too, so it's not just J. Crew, but I'm about done with it.

  3. I ran in to make a return. I liked the wool-cotton pointelle cable sweater. Nothing else really caught my eye.

    2. What color did you like in the wool-cotton Pointelle sweater? @Blakemdjohns That peony color looks cute online! I think I will take a trip to my store this weekend!

    3. I liked the cream. The pink was really pretty though. I would say it's not oversized as the description states. I sized up one size.

    5. @Blakemdjohns how did you find the length of the sweater? I like it a lot but have had trouble with the sweaters being short on me this season. I am 5'8"

    6. It's definitely long enough. Not a cropped sweater at all. It's not tunic length or anything, but it you wore a button up underneath, only a small little bit would hang out.

      I'm only 5'3", though.

  5. @Doodle Daschund mentioned yesterday the stores are doing inventory on Sunday. Is that significant? In other words, does JC have an end-of-season sale after inventory or just more of the same in terms of promotional pricing? TIA!

    1. To me, it just means the store remains a bit empty of merchandise leading up to inventory and right after it.

    2. In the past, pre inventory meant steep discounts day before and right after. Not much left in stores however in the Boston area. I'm going in to check out the jewelry in the Peabody, MA location.

  6. I tried on the Downtown Field Jacket, when I went in to make a return, to prepare for it hopefully going on sale. I'm not sure why this isn't on sale yet. It's out of season for most of us living in the US and Canada. Even to layer it's a bit thin and has no hood. You'd be buying it and holding it for Spring or next Fall, if you're really into Spring colors.

Anywho, I think I must be a freak, because it wasn't sized odd to me at all. I am a size 4, more on the petite side, and it wasn't tight in the arms at all. In fact it was pretty loose in the S. The difference between the S and the M, was that the M was looser in the body, so it fit more like a coat. The arms were long, so I think I will order it in a Petite M. That will also be a nice body compromise between a S and a M since the petites tend to run in between the regular sizes...despite what the size chart says.

  7. I just received the double breasted ivory blazer - on sale on line. This is probably one of the best purchases I've made at JC in over a year - fits perfectly, looks like a collection piece, got great reviews on line. Was originally $128.00 I paid $65.00

  9. Could someone tell me: why an in store perfect shirt is full price and online sale price with 40% off? Sales help could only give me sale price - not 40% off?? same exact item

    1. Ellen, if the shirt is on promo (basically a reduction in price that doesn't end in .99) they will not give you extra percent off in the store. You can apply the promo online though. I'm not really sure why they do this...

    2. Sorry, this is weird. My SAs will honor whatever you find online in store. You can also ask them to order it for you for the free ship, but that seems so silly when they can manually override the price and apply a discount.

Sweaters (long open shawl collar sweater in black looked pilled and shop worn) I was there again for returns. popped into Banana Rep. 50% off sale...bought a dressy blouse and quite a few casual pieces (suits my style these days) lots of good deals at BR...just saying J Crew.
