Will you be taking advantage of this offer? If so, please share! :)

  1. I got an email this morning for 20% FP and free shipping but I think the hello world that expires at the end of Jan is better for Cndian JCA's. HTH!

  2. I got it too...it's 2DAYSONLY...20% off full price, 40% off final sale, and free shipping!

  3. The new stuff...IMO is really ugly. It doesn't appeal to me AT ALL. I will not be buying any of this.

  5. It's taking 20% off my order, but I'm not getting the free shipping. Anyone else having issues with that?

    1. Yes, I never get the free shipping during these promos, but it could be becuase I'm shipping to a DPO (sometimes I have to change the address to our US city- and i get the promo...)

  6. There is nothing left that I want in final sale and none of the new items appeal to me either. While I am happy to see a cardholder perk I will sit this one out.

  7. head's up that the new balance sneakers are excluded from this promo. just let out an anguished sigh when I rushed to my cart to purchase and then realized the discount isn't applicable on them.

    1. Aaargh, I just did the same thing. Rushed to purchase them and saw the big, fat "EXCLUDED FROM PROMO" notification. Disappointing.

      Delete
    2. yeah, and when I went to the tyson's corner store this morning, they were enforcing that exclusion to some other people who tried to buy them. so it looks like they're sticking to it pretty strictly ... sadly.

    3. I'm assuming that the profit margin isn't as high with those bc of the collab, so I'm not surprised they are excluded. I ordered 2 of the colorways last week after realizing they may not get marked down before they sell out in my size. :/

  8. Love the free shipping, no minimum, but I spent all of my budget on a new treadmill, so I'll be sitting this one out.

It does appear that the FUNSALE code is giving free shipping, no minimum just like the CARDEVENT code...plus no J.Crew card is necessary for either code.

For those interested in shopping either of the deals, there are a lot of Promo-Priced items right now that also receive the extra % off. See the list of them HERE. (The list of markdowns can also be accessed with that link.)

Also, just a quick reminder that today is the last day to get an Extra 40% off Promo-Priced items & Sale Styles at Madewell with the COZYUP code. The list of Madewell Promo-Priced items is HERE. :)

  9. Addtl 50% off final sale is still going in-stores.

  10. Icon trench worth it at 20%? I've read lots of reviews and would probably like the 2010 version but it's 2014 and I guess I need to move on...

    1. Muffin - I had a shot at getting it for super, duper cheap, but it wasn't a good fit for me. The color was dull and didn't go with my skin. I also found it very stiff overall and too high up on my neck. Wish I could tell you the year I tried it on. lol I do think it looks awesome on some, like Slastena & Dina Gideon. If it's not a hassle to return it, you should try it w/the promo. Get it out of your system or maybe find out it's a match.

  11. Gigi- good advice. Sometimes I fixate on something and it turns out not to be so magical in the end. I will give it a go-- thanks!

  12. Lots of issues last night with the website when the promo first appeared. So if there were any good deals they are gone. Purchased a pair of leggings with discount and free shipping. Like many I don't like the new arrivals and the style.com link another JCA provided does not show much promise for the spring.

    1. JRSConifer - I am you, Denee and other JCAs that aren't fond of the SP14 slideshow. Those are collection items and I am keeping that in mind. I'm thinking about the things I've seen so far. Not impressed. I.e. a tuxedo bib cotton cami with the Tilda rhinestones at the neck. Can we move on?

      Delete
    2. Agreed, I was going to mention that these slideshows are usually the more whackadoo Collection items and there will likely be more wearable pieces in the Spring rollouts.

As far as the "new" stuff in stores and online, it all seems the same - everywhere. Look at the image on one of Loft's main pages (here) - embellished sweatshirt over chambray with skinny jeans and heels. That girl even models for JC.

Finally, it's hard to get excited about 20% off FP when it'll be marked down in a week or two with probably an additional 30%. Maybe a good time to try something before it goes to FS on first markdown, but that's about it.

      I have JC ennui. Ha!

  13. Just got off the phone with the F Street store in DC (I split time between DC and San Fran). In store is still 50% off final sale. Among other promos, they are also running a 30% off boots promo (are there any boots that aren't on sale and subject to the 50%) and a 25% off out of case jewelry promo. They weren't aware of the cardholder event (looks like that may be online only) but were happy to match it.

  14. Review here of the Martina suede wedges in rustic brown.

And I'm doing a giveaway! J Crew up in thurrr, of course ;)

  15. I have to say that this promo made my day. I've been holding on the Collection Misty Fog Floral capri pants and I'm glad I did. Now if it would have 30% I might have grabbed a couple of other things but the lower discount helped me decide what I really want versus things I think I want because they are a "good deal." In the end this is good for my wallet.

    1. Luxette. I would love to hear your thoughts on these pants. They are on my wish list but I wonder about the fit.

    2. Sure, I actually ordered two sizes to compare - I will share a review when they arrive :)

  16. Dear Lucie Slingback Flat - How sad we were that you were excluded from JC's earlier 40% off promo. While beautiful, we could not justify you at full price. But now that you come with a discount, and you happen to be available in our owner's size, the Leopard White Canvas and Mirror Metallic will find a new home in our closet. And eventually on her feet :-) Welcome to the shoe party Lucie! Sincerely, Cece, Cleo, Darby, Everly, Kiki, Martina, and Viv

    1. JenniferD - lol! In case you didn't see the review, Audreybella has the grapefruit natural Lucies. You can show the girls at the shoe party while y'all wait ;)

    2. Gigi - I often scour the net for product reviews before purchasing (and especially for final sale items). Her review, plus some feedback from the SAs and my online VPS has led me to believe they are TTS. But threw a couple pairs a half-size up in the bag as well after a searing internal debate of "Return hundreds of $$ worth of merchandise to the annoyed looks of B&M SAs" versus "Kick myself and drive my online VPS crazy looking for sold-out styles"? It's like a bad or a worse choice!

  17. This promo would have been perfect if that Peacoat trench in khaki wasn't sold out.

Do you guys know if its possible to buy it in the navy color with the 20% off, and when the khaki restocks, I would like to exchange it from navy to khaki, on the 20% price I bought it at? (I know this exchange has to be done in-store).

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I was able to do an exchange over the phone for a different size of an item I had purchased on promo. CS placed a new order for the size I wanted and applied the promo, which had already expired by the time I received my order, and then I mailed back my return (I don't live near a B&M).

Perhaps you can purchase the navy coat and see if you like the style. If you like it, keep an eye out in stores and online to see if the khaki is restocked and do your exchange before the return window expires.

    2. I've arranged an exchange of an online item via live chat before--the reps were great. As long as the item isn't final sale, they will exchange for a different color. HTH!

  18. Wondering if anyone has had a chance to try the new no. 2 pencil skirt in cotton twill? The description makes me think that they've changed the fit quite a bit. Is it true to size with this new streamlining? Did they mess with a good thing?!

    1. Rynetta tried the current no. 2 in navy, review here. They added side seams to it.

They did that with the Factory No. 2 that I reviewed in 2013 in this post. If you click on pic #5, you'll see the side seams.

The retail no. 2 in cotton didn't have the side seams in 2012. You can see how the skirt used to be in this post in pic 2.

What's exciting to some is that the skirt now comes in navy. Only they tinkered with it :(

      Delete
    2. The Factory skirts with that seaming actually fit me better, but they looked worse because the seams that made it fit me better made my butt look big. I only tried this on in the store, never bought it. I'm sorry to hear they messed with the retail one.

  19. KLlovestoshop: I'm happy to send you an email with a picture of the skirt. It fits me horribly. Yes, unfortunately, I think that they messed with a great thing. The No. 2 Pencil Skirt is a major staple in my wardrobe.

Gigi: Thanks SO much for linking to my review!!!!

  20. I bit on this promo & got the silk boy shirt in owl print & perfect shirt in foulard. Also, used my American Express to receive $25 off a $100+ purchase at JCrew.com.

Thank you Gigi for your reviews of both shirts. I needed to see them IRL to make up my mind =).

  21. Hoping for some pre-final sale advice on the Alpine Puffer in Colorblock...I am wavering between small and medium because I have super-long arms. I'm usually a 4 in JC shirts and blazers. I just returned the shetland wool colorblock in a 4 because it was too small in the shoulders. Has anyone tried this and found it to run big? I don't need extra poof! Argh! TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  22. At this point, they would need to offer more than 20% off regular priced items to entice me to shop. :) I think I'll pass.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I didn't think there was anything I wanted, but I've been waiting for a few things to get a markdown that never do. I bought the Gwen dress in black and the Darby suede loafers in black (this would be a backup pair because my black ones are my most worn). I also ordered the Crinkle Boy Shirt in black check. I'll probably kick myself later when they go to better markdowns.

  24. I wanted the Hera popover, but it only comes down to 120...just couldn't do it..but I got that metallic gold dot scarf and jeweled starbrst sweater, slip on oxfords, and the pear bracelet. ( I really wanted the llama sweater but I'm going to try my luck when I go on leave and am back in the US of A). Then today, I happen to see the leather front shirt in white in small so I hit purchase- now i have the black and white in small (if they don't cancel it) and the white in medium too- one is bound not to fit- if they don't- I'll post in the resale.

  26. I thought I was safe with not buying anything but I'm mighty tempted. The only things I really want are the jacquard baseball cap and the floral jacquard mini. I feel like both will probably hit the sale section at some point so I should probably wait....decisions, decisions.
