Here's to August (and 40% off everything at J.Crew Factory)

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Irina, who let us know about the following email sent out this morning.

J.Crew is reminding customers to take an additional 40% off everything over at J.Crew Factory. Prices are automatically adjusted to reflect the offer. Yey! This offer expires August 4, 2013.

Irina also shares that "stores are running 15% off $150 purchase, which can be combined with 40% off sale." That makes for a very enticing sale!!!

Will you be taking advantage of this latest promotion? What are your thoughts on this sale? Are you loving the latest Fall arrivals from Factory?

  1. To be honest, I rarely look at Factory since it split from JC's main site. There's never enough that I want to meet the free shipping minimum, and because there's no Factory store nearby I have to essentially pay to try the clothes on (with $4.95 shipping and $5.95-7.50 return shipping, it's just not worth it to me). I wish they would merge JC, Factory and Madewell sites like the Gap brands have done - but we all know their track record with technology! ;)

    1. Same, I hardly ever look at the Factory web site since it split from the main J. Crew site. I like the Factory store, but the web site always seems so sparse to me when I do look at it. Its inventory seems so much smaller or more boring than the store's inventory.

    2. I rarely look at the Factory site now, either. It doesn't seem like separating it from the retail site was a very good move for them. I would imagine they sold more merchandise from factory when you could order it on the retail site. I agree with silver_lining that it would be nice to see them merge all 3 sites like the Gap brands. Not to mention, it would be nice to be able to use a J.Crew gift card at Madewell and vice versa.

  2. I have an incredibly hard time keeping up with Factory's pricing. I feel like they play even more games than the regular JCrew, and I'm never sure what is really "real" there. If it's 40% off and the prices are refelcted on the site . . . then what's the real price? Everything seems to start out at a "discounted" price, which makes me think there isn't any value at all.

I do look at the site from time to time. And if there is something I really want, I might purchase it. But in general, I find it a frustrating experience.
