Nice Update to Final Sale Online Today

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know about the following...

J.Crew has a nice update to their Final Sale section online (click here) earlier this morning. Lots of merchandise for everyone (1150+ for Women and 515+ for Men).

Although, right now a lot of pieces of merchandise are showing up as "ghost pages" (in other words, sold out). Things are moving quickly, that is for sure!

Did you check out the Final Sale section today? Were you able to snag any amazing deals? If so, please share! :)

  1. What I love is that fact that a lot of items are showing up as regular sale. Got the saturday pant in heather flint, luxe silk crepe blouse in navy and the heavyweight silk bow top in ivory, none of which is final sale. Woohoo!

  2. I'm totally J. Crewed out these days. The last few mornings, I haven't even looked through the sale items as per my regular morning routine. I do have a sale Lady Day coat arriving today though (not final sale).

    2. me too. there's just nothing that gets me excited. the sale would need to be better than before the holidays. and i really don't need another coat

    3. I just got my golden sun lady day coat. Wow! It is lovely color and fit! I now know why lady day coat is JCrew's classic coat year after year.

  3. I noticed the update this morning but didn't make a purchase, although I am considering the Nolita jacket that was just marked to promo-price today. Has anyone seen it IRL? I'm wondering what the color of the denim looks like in person, as well as if it is running TTS.

Also, for those interested, complete list of Promo-priced items, as well as ones that have been marked down are here.

    1. I bought it last month and would say it is a medium blue. very similar to the Old Faithful wash of my Straight leg jeans. I purhased a size medium because I wanted a slightly generous fit so I could layer sweaters etc. the fit was perfect for the look I was going for...I am normally a 6 or 6T in J crew Jackets.

    2. I reviewed it on my blog.
I had to size down to a xxs to get a good fit.It is very soft,i really like it.

      HTH

  4. I checked the link at 5:30 for the herringbone excursion vest from my phone and it said it had a small and x large. When I put the small in my bag it just kept saying 0 items in bag :(

    1. You probably needed to call and order through CS. Had this happen twice before Christmas. The stock is so low it won't let you add it to the bag.

    2. Thank you! I didn't even think about that!

  5. I actually bit the bullet and bought a few items I’d had my eyes on for a while – mona patent mary janes in navy, postage stamp mini in navy tweed, and the black maritime blazer. I told myself I didn’t need anything till spring… but J. Crew got me again.

    1. JMW - I like my maritime blazer. Solid fabric & cut. Hope you enjoy it, too :)

  6. I checked early this morning and almost pulled the trigger on the Hothouse floral skirt. I decided not to b/c I got the Collection pleated maxi skirt in the same sz last week and it ended up being too small, so another $100 seems like a lot when I can't return it if it's too small too. I have a couple leads to stores where the larger size may be in stock so I will call them later. Does anyone know if the Hothouse skirt is cheaper in stores?? Thanks, happy shopping!

  7. I am taking the opportunity to try a few things that I hadn't seen before. I have no idea how it will work out. I got the featherweight cashmere tunic and the silk stripe maxi dress. I had to get an XXS in the dress, and I am usually a size 2, So I hope the "loose fit" will allow me to size down. I fear the tunic may not be flattering, but I don't envision a cheaper way to try out J.Crew cashmere for the first time. We'll see!

    1. Final sale? to try things? Hopefully what you ordered is returnable:) if it doesn't fit....fingers crossed xx

      Delete
    2. Final on the cashmere, (could end up being really nice loungewear), not final on the dress. Fingers crossed is right!

    3. kiwigem, I actually have the featherweight cashmere tunic in navy and I while I do like it, I wished that I had sized down. IMO, it is a beautiful, soft cashmere and would be perfect for the cooler summer nights. It looks like a more casual sweater because of the style and runs TTS to large depending on how you want to wear it. I usually gravitate towards a size xs in JC sweaters and should have sized down because I wanted a more fitted look. HTH.

      Delete
    4. I have it as well, as was said before its a tunic style so designed to fit a bit more loosely, I took my usual size medium and it fits TTS, if you want a more fitted look then a size down would be better, I bought it on super sale last year in the navy and orange

      Delete
    5. Thanks, ladies! I went with my usual size intending on a tunic fit, so that should work! Wouldn't have ordered it if I weren't reasonably confident. I figure if nothing else it will be good to throw on for dinner when we take the kids to Disney. :-)

  9. Darn it! I had the Symphony coat in green in my cart, pressed checkout, and it was gone. I was even risking a 0 though I'm usually a 2. Sigh. This sale stalking is cutthroat.

    1. Cutthroat! LOL! It's like competing in a game show!

    2. Liz you are too funny! I really do hate it when something I really want pops back and I miss it but I feel a tinsy better when I get word of a fellow JCA picking it up. At the end of the day, it's just clothes, I guess. Sigh.

  10. Liz, maybe for the best. I have learned to stay far away from final sale. Even a coat I ordered a couple years ago came defective this late in the game and sizing issues...oh boy! so inconsistent!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If you receive a defective or a wrong size item you can return it and get reimbursed. I did. I also returned a skirt which I ordered based on the measurements CS had sent me previously to ordering that proved to be off.

      Delete
    2. Yes, thanks. I know. I just received too many defective and/or wrong items during final sale and got so tired of always having to make returns and the disappointment and hassle involved.

  11. I bit the bullet and got the schoolboy in modern red, a tippi cardigan in green, and a crepe pleated skirt in blue.
This sale hunting really is tough... I had the tippi cardigan in byzantine blue in my cart and it sold out on me. So, now I will be getting it in green instead. A good second choice, but I was still disappointed not to snatch the blue.
Fingers crossed that it all fits!

  12. Still waiting for something to ship that I ordered Thursday morning. So, I'm off the site until that ships! Pretty frustrating to have to wait so long.

    1. It's possible it will arrive before you get the shipping notice...it's happened to me (and a few other JCAs) before!

    2. Here's hoping! However, I called customer service this morning and the guy I spoke to said it's probably b/c they can't find one for me. And then he said (as thought this is some sort of great thing) that I won't be charged for it if I never get it (no kidding haha)

  13. Dear J.Crew, perhaps after this glorious sale promo with bountiful pop-backs you might consider a full-price promo?

  14. Ok, I don't want to taketh without giving, but I need the services of JCAWFIFY once again. I am looking for two items: the excusrsion quilted vest in herringbone in XXS and more importantly, the Cocoon coat in 00 in Smokey Coral. If you have seen these (I'm in the US) I would so appreciate it you letting me know. My email is bankygirl (at) gmail (dot) com. TIA!

  15. Sorry to post this here, but wasn't sure if anyone was checking the "Looking To Sell" post from Monday. Just received the Double Cloth Slim Trench in Caribbean Pink, Size 4, last night and while it is truly a lovely coat, I've realized that I really don't "need" it as I already have a pink lady day (impulse shopping!). I was able to get a good deal on it and just want to recoup some of what I paid so I'm asking $100 Shipped. This is brand new with tags still attached and in original packaging. Contact me at Lisa_Groves@msn.com if interested. Thanks!

    1. That is a beautiful coat. I ended up with the camel because they sent me the pink in the wrong size, but I loved the pink.

  16. I ordered the Sterling Skirt in Heather Carbon and the Pleated Sweater Skirt in Camel. The Sweater Skirt was not marked final sale (although the Burgundy one left on the site now is)so I can try and return without stress. I know some other JCAs didn't like it. I have to stop with the J.Crew now. I've done four J.Crew orders and one Madewell in the few weeks month

    1. I wore my burgundy sweater skirt last week and just wrote a blog post on it. I put the link to the blog post in the Reviews post from today.

I love that skirt, and feel like it is definitely worth the sale price if it works with your frame. It seems like this is a skirt you either love or hate. :)

Can't wait to see if you think it's a go or a "no."

  17. This is totally off-topic, but while I was looking for a picture of the Jackie cardigan in vibrant fuschia to clip to polyvore (I just bought the sweater this morning and the color is now sold out online) I came across this site: http://www.jcrewstore.com

Has anyone ever heard of it? It is NOT J.Crew, but they have all kinds items from this season. It looks completely shady....

    1. I got curious and Googled the company name at the base of the website. It's located in California but it still feels shady to me too. Plus you can get stuff on better sale in-store/online.

    2. Very shady. Same styles but s/m/l sizing? Looks like a factory manager in China has decided to take the "knock-off" to a whole new level.

  18. OT, but I just received a "2013 collection" leaflet from J Crew. It folds out with 20 women's look on one side and 15 men's look on the other side. Not many things interest me. But there is a pretty piped blazer in look no. 7 and an interesting, old-school-like dress in look no. 9 (I typed in the style numbers on the JC site to search but they are not available yet). The colors seem to have toned down a bit, which for me is welcome. But I feel some of the silhouettes and ideas are getting tiring (e.g., skinny, cropped pants in patterned silk). Has anyone else received the leaflet?

    1. Greta - I haven't recvd it yet, but saw it today. I hear it's being mailed out with rewards cards. And probably to others on the marketing list. I see some repeats, i.e. reverse tuxedo pants. Only one or two things I am mildly interested in. The skunk pants are on there. Hoo boy.

    2. I received it, but if you didn't, it can be viewed on JCrew's site here: JCrew Spring/Summer 2013 Lookbook

  19. Loving my Slim Trench in Blackwatch. It's wool and water repellant- perfect for the moody spring weather just around the corner. I went for my regular coat size of 6 and don't plan on wearing anything too bulky underneath.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I ordered the Sterling skirt in the mint color - I love wearing that skirt to work (I have it in several colors now), and at the sale price, am willing to buy a more "difficult" color. Not difficult to wear, I'm thinking difficult to keep clean! But I tend to do well with wool.

  21. I got the Tippi cardigan in colorblock ivory sandstone. That was final sale, but I have that sweater in other colors (I need to quit shopping), so it should work.

I also got the No. 2 pencil skirt in purple herringbone. That one doesn't say final sale, so I can return if I need to. I haven't tried that one on before. Does anyone know if it fits like the eyelet No. 2 pencil from the Summer? I have that one in a size 2 and I got the same size in the herringbone one.

Did I need either of these? No. I rationalized this purchase by posting 20 things in the "looking to sell" thread. This plan could backfire if no one wants any of them ;)

Glad y'all got some good deals too!

  30. I would also like to hear the polka dot silk shell. It's so annoying that it's final sale. I was in a store today too, and the clerk told me that no stores have it - so you can't even try it on!

My question: I am seriously contemplating the Metro Coat in Authentic Red. Can anyone comment on the color? Is it a true, cold blue-red or an orangey/tomato red? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I believe I saw one at our nearest B&M today. Mind you, I wasn't scrutinizing it or anything, but I would just call it plain red. Maybe "stoplight red" if I had to give it an attribute (or "authentic" LOL). Usually even when just glancing around an obvious undertone (yellow or blue) will register with me, and none did. I just thought, "Oh, a red coat." HTH.

  34. HUGE update to the sale section this morning, but there must have been a lot of stalkers since every popback I clicked on had sold out by 8am! I hope it wasn't just creepy resellers and that some of you JCA's got some good deals.

  36. OT - Did anyone get the email from J.Crew today regarding pre-ordering their spring 2013 collection? If you click on your email, it'll open up a link to their site that shows the runway items. You can actually get the price/item detail/fabric content/colors...
