  2. Suzy: do it!

This is a nice offer... I want that darned dovetail shirtdress but I am so cheap. $158 is way out of my price range.

  3. Suzy - If you call them and ask them to refund you the shipping I'm sure they will, especially since your order hasn't even shipped yet (so you won't have been billed).

I've had great luck with Madewell's customer service - I ordered something with the free shipping promo that was on a few weeks ago, and then when they changed it to 25% off orders of $150+ and free shipping, they let me order an additional item (that brought my total above $150 for both items) and gave me the 25% off that item plus refunded me 25% of the cost of the original item I had purchased (that had already shipped)! I was floored - definitely made a repeat customer out of me!

  4. Thanks, Caitlin, for the info. I think I will call them. The 25% went into effect the next day after I placed my order, but it was below the min. I'll see if they'll let me add something, shipping free, etc. Why not??

  5. Can anyone comment on how their blazers fit versus J. Crew's? Thanks!

  6. Leana - I find their blazers to fit very similarly to J. Crew blazers. I wear the same size in both. HTH!

  7. I LOVE that they're telling us right now that the promo will last a loooong time, instead of saying it will last just a few days, then extending it, or making it limited time with an unknown end date. It's less tricky and pressuring and more just nice customer service. I wish J Crew would do this for Christmas.

  8. I got the melodymaker dress in the warm cinnamon from the 25% deal they had and I love it. Still unsure about the price even with the discount, but the skirt is lined and I usually wear an xs, and the size 2 fits fine (a bit on the big side, but not too bad since it's supposed to be a loose fit).

It does sort of poof out weirdly at the top/waist (you can see it in the website), so it's not perfectly ideal, but I still really like it.

  9. free shipping on anything? oh yeah! I'm thinking of checking out the grey and yellow checked shirt- the shape looks funny, but the pattern is great and should look nice with a pencil skirt! For 30$- that works for me!
