Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. The navy and white silk polka-dotted top is on sale for $59.99. It's quite boxy as far as cut but I think it'd look good tucked in a skirt. I think it went on sale today. Fair isle sweater in camel is also on sale for $59.99 and there were a lot of Maisie floral print dress as well as gray ones at the Emeryville location for I believe $89.99.

  2. The crewlet is having some sale as well. Last weekend the factory forever cardi I tried on was $69.50, and today the SA told me it is on sale for $41.70. Reviews here.

  3. No visit for me, but I like to hear reports from JCA's that go!

  4. Remember -- San Francisco Westfield is closed thru 10/10. Re-open date is Tue, 10/11.

  5. Going to factory to try on the Emeline dress... hope they have it!

    ReplyDelete
  6. I was at a JCrew last weekend and came away with some tortoiseshell hair accessories and that was all. They were 25% off buying 2 or more.

  7. Hello Everyone! I have been visiting this blog for quite some time. I wanted to just post another reminder that I have started a blog reviewing my experiences in new york and I do a lot of reviewing of J Crew products. So Please stop by if you are interested.

  8. I have a few things to return that I received in my latest shipment.

Boat blouse in wreath - I ordered in a 6 but I'm swimming in it! The color is okay, but it's nothing to write home about for me.

Hacking Jacket in bright berry - I'm still on the fence. The color is great (red with a very slight touch of pink), but the fit is bizarre. I wear a 6 in all blazers from J.Crew and this is tight. The fabric feels rich, but the details, lining and buttons do not.

Bi Stretch Minnies in warm redwood - I love these on the model but maybe not on me. The stretch is very slight. I'm thinking that I may exchange for some pixies in charcoal.

  9. I was at a Jcrew factory store yesterday and all the clearance (very good selection) was an extra 30% off. I picked up a clearanced factory jackie cardigan for $17. Most of the non-clearanced items were also on special - significantly less than the online factory prices. It was worth the trip.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Won't be visiting a B&M store but will be placing an order for a Majesty Peacoat today...full price :(
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Not visiting. Not buying online. No promos for Columbus Day weekend, and everyone else having major sales and extra off sale price? Sorry Crew.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I did so much damage at the warehouse sale (recap posted in that thread) that I don't dare go near a retail store for quite some time!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Just did a return at the Easton (Columbus) store- there is a huge sale section, mainly tees of various styles. They had the Elodie marked down to $39.99 in the green and ivory. Would have jumped on the green if they had my size- only XL left in the green.

They did have a Talitha patchwork cami in a size 6 for $9.99. No idea where that came from since that was ages ago! Not sure how you could return that given their policy.

    ReplyDelete
  14. In general, how successful are the "find it for me"s? I'm looking for the leopard print scarf in brown which just disappeared off the website this week :(. Called CS and they are running one for me, but should I not get my hopes up??

    ReplyDelete
  15. Nicole, I've seen stuff like that before too! A few months ago I saw a pair of pants from 2008 in the sale section at my B&M. SO weird.

And oh how I wish that Talitha cami was at my B&M, I'd be running over there right now! I've been dying for that since it came out.

    ReplyDelete
  16. J.CrewJD: You should see if the cami is still there and have the store do a charge/send for you.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Blythe shirtdress was on sale, blythe blouse (select colors) were on sale, the wool pleated skirt was on sale as well. Sorry, I dont remember the prices but all under 79.99.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Has anyone seen the Lucinda blouse in chestnut marked down in their stores in a size 0 or 00? My store only has big sizes and it's not marked down on-line.

Also, if I call other stores, can they ship to me or does J. Crew not do that?

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Lauren S.: Yes, the stores will ship to you. Just tell them the item you are looking for and if they have it, tell them you would like to do a charge/send and have it shipped to you. They will take your information over the phone and mail it out to you in a couple of days.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Has anyone tried on/own the factory georgette silk dress? Wondering on sizing.

Also I am looking for the matchstick jeans in black size 27 regular... if you are trying to get rid of them please let me know!!!
    Subscribing!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Jessy, the two times that I have used the Find it For Me service, it's worked out. Both times I got an email that it was being shipped within 48 hours. Also, both times they comped the shipping and had it shipped 2 Day. Hope they are able to track it down for you!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I won't be visiting this weekend as I am really trying to discipline myself this month to actually wear my existing Fall purchases. Is anyone else out there ashamed of the number of still-with-tags treasures they do love, and "visit" every day, in their closets but haven't worn yet?

I read the descriptions of the Warehouse Sale visits with great interest, especially Elaine's, thank you. I am creeped out about the reseller thing now ... and very wary about ebay stuff. I kinda feel taken advantage of by these people, my own fault I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Jessy - I'm with Kelley - my find it for me requests have always come through. Even for the bright dahlia cafe capris in their height of popularity.

Two years ago I ordered the sequin scarf sweater through the find it service and it was during the holidays. That sweater popped up on factory later, but it was pretty hard to get here in Minneapolis at the time.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Jessy, I took a spin through the Barton Creek Square (Austin, TX) store yesterday and thought I saw an animal print scarf....might be worth calling them directly to see if it's the one you want. Since it's still pretty warm (90+) here, I don't think scarves have been big sellers yet!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm going to stop by tomorrow. A little OT, has anyone tried the Factory tortoise flats? Do they run tts? Thanks, Carrie

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thank you, FFM! Hopefully I'll be able to hunt it down :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I was in my local JCrew on Monday or Tuesday and the Favorite fit long sleeve tees and long sleeve boatneck painter tees were marked down to 19.50. Does anyone know how long this will last? I'm hoping through this weekend so I can pick up a few.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Went by a B&M today and the only thing of note was that they had a Tipped Hacking Jacket--Ivory with Acorn tipping. I hadn't seen it before but it was sooo pretty. Might be a store-only combo? For a lack of a better word, it seemed very "fancy" though, or maybe holiday-y. The combo was beautiful though....hmm.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I need a few short sleeve perfect fit tees, but I probably won't make it to the store this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Has anyone seen the bi-stretch wool Minnies in redwood in a B&M store? I'd love to order a pair soon, but I don't live near a J. Crew store, and the online orders for these aren't shipping until November 14.

Also, I see that InBoxImpulse ordered a pair and didn't love them. Anyone else have a review/reaction about them? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  31. FFM, which scarf were you looking for a months or so ago? Did you find it?

Might actually go into the B&M for the first time since this summer!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. mommydearest: I have been looking for the navy blue sailboat scarf but still haven't found one yet.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Lauren S.: You're welcome! I hope you're able to find one! :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. There might be a weekend promo in-store, i.e. addtl % off. I suppose we'll hear first from east coast jca's if that's the case.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Lots of stuff marked down or further marked down in store -- I might be in big trouble! I reviewed some of these on my blog, just do a search for the items.

    - Blythe shirt-dress in red and navy; $99.99
    - Bonnie dress in floral taffeta, now $79.99
    - Silk Elodie blouse, now $34.99
    - Boy Shirt in stripe crepe de chine, in black/white and maroon/white, $69.99 ($10 less than online markdown)
    - Puff-sleeve popover, now $29.99
    - Moonlighter dress, now $59.99 (a great dress if you wear it with some spanx underneath!)
    - Cafe Capri in floral taffeta, $99.99

I didn't have time to look at the sweaters but there were racks of them marked down, also racks of shirts and pants -- and the Lulu Frost bangles are on sale too!! I am going back today. Happy weekend, everyone =)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Extra 30% off sale items today through Monday. I highly recommend the striped silk boy shirt. I bought the navy one at full price and love it! Maybe I will buy another at sale price. Also love the baseball tee and the Bonnie dress

    ReplyDelete
  37. Okay, so I went to my b&m last week, and picked up my new favorite sweater. I was going to do a review, but I can't find it on the website. Is that possible? I go to the Tysons Galleria in McLean, VA. Would they have different sweaters than the website? Am I just unable to use my computer?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Jessie, do you know if the extra 30% off sale in store is "final sale"??

    ReplyDelete
  39. Actually I don't know about that, but I guess it will be final sale.
Madewell is having 25% off all sweaters, tees and shoes.

    ReplyDelete
  40. FFM: darn. That is not the one I saw. Hope you are able to find it!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I am new to this blog, as I was not shopping so much from J Crew before. I am loving so many things from them this fall though, that I am converted! I found out that the Blythe shirtdress is on sale in the stores. However, not on the website. The store that carries the dress in my size is 30-40 minutes away. Should I go and grab it, or should I just wait a few more days and order it? How long does it take for the sale to show up on the web? Sorry if this is slightly OT.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I second Jessie on the striped silk shirt. I have the navy and cider and they are my current favorite shirts. Mine were worth full price to me because I have been wearing them constantly.

    ReplyDelete
  43. did some Hallowe'en shopping/browsing at the Crewlet earlier, no surprises.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Nashville (Green Hills Mall) is doing an extra 30% off final sale. Lots of deco jewelry for $19.99 (before the extra discount). I got the bundle zip hoodie (51152), which was $34 after the discount and still FP online. The SA even combined the student discount with the extra % off, which has never happened to me before!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Thanks dinster for the heads-up about the extra 30% in store. I was going to the mall for a brow wax, lol, so of course had to pop in and see if they had the polka-dot top in my size. (they did, yay!) I also snagged the charcoal Jardin Skirt for $28 (w/discount), yay. My cowlneck poncho is such a deal now at $70. The camel cape is marked at $99 (I know most people didn't like the armhole placement.)

My PS gave me the new catalog. LOVE some of the shots and items. Pretty new coat colors (maraschino cherry!) and a plaid toggle coat. Tipped Hacking Jacket in the iovry/camel. The Boat Blouse is now the Talia and it comes in the new paisley print. Cafe capri in tangerine. Bright Blue double-serge pencil skirt. Pretty new bow shoes (Viv) in a flat and heels. Shearling McAlister. Striped merino cable sweaters. Clean and classic styling with pretty pops of color!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Thanks, shopwithm! Is the Bright Blue pencil skirt like the Nordic Blue double-serge wool pencil skirt from last year? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  47. rynetta -- The Bright Blue looks totally like the bright blue from several years ago. I have the old one and love it! (But they didn't have the azalea you posted in this catalog, rats!)

    ReplyDelete
  48. I love that maraschino cherry color! Any reviews of the puff-sleeve tee?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Thanks, shopwithm! Rats is right about the neon azalea. I think my online PS said that it will be available in early November. Not sure why it wouldn't be in the newest catalog though, unless it's part of what's considered holiday.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Jen, I have the cherry puff-sleeve tee and think it's darling. The sleeves have just a tiny bit of 'puff' so they're not too out there, and the color is a gorgeous true red. It looks a little short on the site but I didn't find that to be the case - I sized up to an M to fit it over my 7.5 month PG belly and it worked fine - I would've stuck with my regular size S if I wasn't PG. No raw edges anywhere on it, yippee!

shopwithM, thanks for the update on the new catalog. Looking forward to seeing it - was it shot on location anywhere?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Lots of odds and ends at my b&m. I did pre-order the azalea #2 pencil skirt! :) It's suppose to be part of the next rollout (October 25 in my b&m), but I didn't want to take a chance. I also bought a gold bangle - I wouldn't spend the $ on a real solid gold bangle, so this will do. It looked really good and was $20 (minus my teacher discount).

I got to see the Prince of Wales schoolboy and thought it was much nicer than the other schoolboys. My ps was raving about it (they had 1 left).

    ReplyDelete
  52. silver-lining -- Mostly solid color backgrounds, but there are several shots outdoors near a barn that feel very reminiscent of old-school days to me.

    ReplyDelete
  53. OT: I saw this NBC clip on J.crew's facebook page about their current fall offerings:

    http://www.nbcnewyork.com/shows/newyorklive/J__Crew_Fall_Fashion_New_York-131330149.html

    Cute little clip!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Great new scarves in store only- coral, charcoal and vibrant flame. Lots of in-store promos on pants, tanks, accessories.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Just ran to the Polaris store to see if they had the Elodie in graffiti green. For some reason they never carried the long sleeved blouses, but they were AWESOME in their service for me today: they ordered via the red phone, waived the shipping, AND I got it for $39.99 LESS the 30%! Woohoo! I've been stalking this blouse, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Does anyone know which pants are on promo in stores? Thanks for your help!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hi Leah,

I have the redwood minnies- I do love them and the stretch knit feels nice, but they are somewhat itchy and very figure-hugging! I have a review here:

    http://thatdamngreendress.blogspot.com/2011/09/pants-aka-review-and-future-ootd.html

    hope that helps!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ha, look - they changed the color of the "heather bright berry" hacking jacket online! I thought the big model pic looked different, but if you hover over the first small one on the left it switches back to the more "heathered" looking one. Weird!

(JC, don't try to act like you don't read JCA!)

    ReplyDelete
  59. I was able to track down a size 0 Blythe in the chestnut. But I'm still hoping to find a navy Lucinda in a 0 or 00. Anyone see one in their store? Thanks!

  60. My B&M (Seattle Univ Village) offers additional 30% off.

    I scored...
Biella high heel loafers (warm taupe)for $99.99 and Yoga cardigan (gray & hthr acorn) for $55.99 each. YAY!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I bought the origami mini in the tweed. Love it and plan to wear it with flat boots and tights and maybe a sexy fitted turtleneck. Has anyone tried the Cailey cords? Trying to decide which pants to get with the monthly budget. Vote on my blog and help a girl out! http://wp.me/p1KmX4-8X

    ReplyDelete
  62. Just got back from the Chicago Michigan Ave store where I got the Cowlneck Poncho for $59 ($99 on sale + 30% off promo + 15% off student discount). I am SO in love with it. Initially I was disappointed because the store only had size M left and I usually take an XS but the M turned out to be perfect. I wasn't sure I would like it because I had read some others' reviews that panned it, but I think it really really works for me. I think the thing is though, it works best on someone (like me) who is very flat chested, so it drapes better. I would highly recommend it, especially at this price.

    ReplyDelete
  63. looking for a cowl neck poncho, in size small, if anyone sees one....thank you!!!! also, a clipper cardigan, in the brown color, size small. thank you!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. LRA, while I didn't check sizes, the Charleston, SC, store had several when I was there this morning.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Question: I tried on Blythe blouse at B&M today that was on sale and fell in love! Unfortunately they only had one left in my size (4) and there was a stain on it. The color was sort of a burnt orange and it was gorgeous. I was wondering if anyone knows the name of that color?? Also if anyone knows that there store has it in a 4 could you please let me know? TIA!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. LRA, I was in New York last weekend and there were at least a few Clipper cardigans in size S, camel, at both the Rockefeller store and the Prince St. store. However, that was last weekend, and now they have the addtl 30% off, so you will have to call ahead to check. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  67. @silver_lining - LOL! We know they read it.

Giving some love to the poncho hoodie. Now $29.99 in-store. I tried it for fun and love it. It's thin, but cozy & good for layering a striped long sleeve shirt under.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Jessie: Is that 25% off Madewell shoes in-store, because right now online it says "tees, tanks, and sweaters?"

    ReplyDelete
  69. Thanks so much, thatdamngreendress! :)

I wish I lived close enough to a B&M store to actually take advantage of the 30-off sale. I hope it hits online soon.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I went to JCrew last weekend and bought 3 items. The featherknit floral tank in blue @24.99, tissue pintuck tee in green @ $12.99, and shorts in a brownish-green (?) @ $19.99. All great items that I find incredibly comfortable and can see wearing for the next few years. Just one problem...I've been out of the country for the past few years so this was my first JCrew purchase now that I'm back in the US. I was surprised to find that I had to buy the tank in XXS, the t-shirt in XS, and the shorts in a size 2. I've NEVER had to buy JCrew clothing that small! I've always worn a size S/4. Has JCrew gone the way of vanity sizing?

    ReplyDelete
  71. CrewGurl: a SA called it 'rust' color re: the Blythe blouse. I know that Syracuse, NY had some of the rust color ones but I don't know if they have size 4.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Thanks Jan!..I'm thinking of calling my store and seeing if they can find one in another location. I will mention yours :)

    ReplyDelete
  73. Did anyone notice if the Excursion quilted jacket in black is on sale in stores?

    ReplyDelete
  74. mini, it was still full price as of last night

    ReplyDelete
  75. Has anyone seen the Jardin skirt in either purple or grey in sz. 12???? Would love to get it at the reduced price - 30%. TIA!!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I visited the Grand Rapids store Saturday & they had a large sale section with an additional 30% off, final sale. The SA was nice enough to honor online prices in addition to the extra percent off, which was great since some of the items I purchased were still full price in the store (like the leopard scarf in heather nickel). The scarves that weren't in the sale section were 25% off. I did think it was sort of odd that the Fisherman Sweater was on sale in all colors except in the Vintage Champagne, which was still full price. I guess that color must be selling well enough at full price to not include it in the sale?

    ReplyDelete
  77. I saw the silk polka dot tee is already $49.99. That was quick. I reviewed it on my blog. They also have new colors of the Natasha blouse in ocean blue in store.
I also reviewed the Nouvelle 120s, Hacking and Schoolboy jackets, here:
    http://handbagaficionado.blogspot.com/2011/10/october-2011-reviews-jcrew-hacking-and.html

    ReplyDelete
  78. arg, I still have items with tags and receipt that I purchased last weekend. I could save $120 with this 30% off. What do you ladies do in this situation?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Megcrew, it can't hurt to ask if they would honor the 30% off now since you still have the tags on the clothes. You could always take a friend/sister and you return everything and she says, I am going to buy everything she just returned. I have actually done this in the past, not at JC but other stores. Life is too short to give a hoot about what they say, the faces they make, or their attitude. That's a lot of $$$ so just go for it.

    ReplyDelete
  80. MegCrew, I would take it all right back and ask for a price adjustment. I have done it in the past and saved myself a bundle. They will honour the discount, I guarantee it. You can always say you want to return it all if they say price adjustments do not apply to items on sale. They wouldn't prefer that alternative, I am quite sure.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Jruby18, Charleston, SC, had several purple jardin skirts as of yesterday morning, but I didn't check the sizes. It wouldn't hurt to call and ask. Hope you find it!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Thanks silver_lining! I have big shoulders. Is the fit of the puff-sleeve t more like a tissue/slub T, or more like one of the perfect Ts?

    :) Jen

    ReplyDelete
  83. @lauren s- the lexington ky had the navy lucinda blouse in a 0 when i was there last week.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Has anyone seen the Striped Silk Boy Shirt in the Cider colour in a size 0 or 2 in their store? I'd love to track one down at the sale price plus 30% off! TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  85. bindi, thank you so much. Thanks to a tip from Gigi, I was able to purchase one from Walnut Creek. But I really appreciate you taking the time to post :)

    ReplyDelete
  86. Jruby, I just returned from the Plaza Frontenac store (St. Louis) and saw one purple Jardin skirt in a size 10. Not sure if this will help you, but thought it was worth a shot.

For anyone who doesn't want to wait for backorders, the Frontenac store has a bunch of No. 2 pencils in the vintage tweed (both navy and pink colorways) and the Cafe capri in houndstooth. Saw a couple of Clipper cardis (heather saddle) in L/XL in the sale section. Asked an SA about the upcoming neon azalea pencil and she knew nothing about it...

    ReplyDelete
  87. thanks Mimi & mathteacher!! I'm calling both stores tomorrow!!

    ReplyDelete
  88. mimi.magnolia, my ps didn't know about the azalea pencil skirt either. He called CS and they were able to pass on the information and pre-order it for me.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I'm interested in the crepe de chine shirt. It's says dry clean, but has anyone washed it? I have washed J Crew merino sweaters before eventhough they say dry clean, and they've come out fine.

    ReplyDelete
  90. So I called CS and they are going to do a "we'll find it for you" search for the Blythe blouse in what I now know is called "smoldering brick". I am keeping my fingers crossed because I really love this blouse and with the additional 30% off already sale price, it comes to around $40. Can't beat that!!

    ReplyDelete
  91. still no luck on finding a Clipper Cardigan, in size small, in the brown color...if anyone sees one, can you shoot me an email or respond here? thank you!!

    ReplyDelete
  92. I hand washed the silk striped boy shirt, in fact I hand washed every silk shirt and they all came out fine . I would say the quality of the striped boy shirt is even better.(than the Blythe blouse)

    ReplyDelete
  93. Marylovesdresses - Online is a different distribution channel than in-store. Sometimes items are marked down in-store that take forever to be marked down online. In short, there isn't always a correlation between the two. Hard to say if/when the Blythe dress will be marked down online.
