  1. I love that JCrew offers free shipping on Crewcuts:)

  2. I love that J Crew's shipping policy is super easy in that you can return things to a store.I recently bought something from Boden and paid $10 to have it shipped to me and now I want to return it and the label says I need to take it to a post office and pay to have it shipped back. Is this new? I know I've shipped thing back to Boden before (may have been miniBoden) and it was just a prepaid UPS label.

I guess this is more of a Boden rant than a J Crew love...but I guess I am used to the ease of returns with the Crew.

  3. Here's a shoutout to the staff at J.Crew's 45th/Madison store in NYC!! They were so helpful for me on Sunday, tracking down a few items and going out of their way to help me put together an outfit for an event I'm attending this week. They are such an amazing, nice group of people. Thank you!!

  4. I do love their customer service and their willingness to go out of their way to help me - the poor soul in Canada without a B&M. They have paid my shipping for returns which is super expensive here.

Every single thing I have ever ordered from them since maybe 2007 or 2008 has come in brand-new perfect condition. I have heard so many horror stories. I always open the package expecting cigarette smell, holes, ripped stuff, but it's always brand new and packaged perfectly! Love it!

Oh yes - also I love that my package always gets to me within 10 working days - although that is pretty slow, but it's my own fault since I live in Canada and have a PO Box.

    Can't wait for fall stuff!

  5. Last night, I broke down and went back to J. Crew in Nashville to look at an adorable tank top with small silk flowers scattered all over the front. It turns out that it's a retail-only item. I got the pinky-beige color (beautiful!), and they're doing a store search for the white, which is going to look great with the white Jackie I just got.

  6. I have a vintage love ... today I'm wearing my Persimmon double-serge wool pencil skirt for the millionth time (and probably the last time 'til fall) and these skirts really are some of the best wardrobe investments I've ever made.

I still need to add a Dahlia / Violet one to my stable, but to anyone who may be on the fence about whether to buy one, don't think, just buy 'em. Even at FP. You'll wear the hell out of them and they truly wil never go out of style. Mine are what, 3 years old now? And they still look brand new.

Same goes for anything made of wool gab or wool flannel. Oh how I love all those items. I have suiting dresses that are 10 years old that I still wear! And the recent stuff, the Origami dress and the Silvie dress ... I just adore them, and people always ask where I got them anytime I wear them!

    *LOVEFEST*

Boden used to have promos that offered a %off, free shipping and free returns. All 3!!! I have ordered from them regularly for the past 3 1/2 years. However, I have only seen a % off and free shipping this spring. No free returns it seems anymore:(

Once I did buy a coat that was too small and had to pay for shipping to get and it and return shipping as well but that was one time only before I learned more about their sizing.

  9. Boden returns: I ALWAYS keep the free returns stickers I get. I have about ten of them, waiting to get used. I always throw away the ones that have the print on it to pay the 7 dollars to return (I think it is 7).

There are offers with free shipping and free returns, but you have to watch for them. The Boden Previews usually come with free shipping and returns and since I do the vast majority of Boden shopping in their "preview" time, I get all those free return stickers.

FWIW, the stickers do not have to match the package it came with...never have had issues with that!!!

Right now my sidebar on my superfluities blog has a maternity 15% off with free shipping and FREE RETUNRS coupon for Boden. You do not have to buy maternity to get the savings...I don't know how long it will last, but it has been working for a few weeks now.

    Hope that helps a bit!

  10. OMG, let me be on topic. LOL.

I LOVE the fall line for J. Crew...that orange collar-less coat has my. name. written. all. over. it.

Now...what can I get rid of to make room for that beauty in my closet? :)

  12. I bought the JC leopard print scarf with the in-store $10 off promo and I love it. I have been on the lookout for a print that wasn't too crazy, nice/light fabric, and a good length and this fit the bill. It's possible that it might go down in price at a later time, but with all the wear I will be doing in the meantime, the promo price of $49.50 will be worth it!

  13. audball - I love the leopard scarf, too.

  14. dinagideon, I totally agree about that orange colar-less coat in the Fall line up. It's beautiful. I love coats without collars, though when it's below freezing with gale force winds I have to admit a collar comes in handy. :)

I received yet another pair of shoes (Loxley pump, reviewed in reviews thread), and I continue to be amazed by the J Crew shoes. They are much better looking on the foot than in the images on the web site. I'm hoping to score a pair in black but this late I think my chances of doing that are pretty much zero.
