Darlings, is it time for a J.Crew coupon code?

Yes, it is that wonderful time again! :) A big "thanks!" goes to Danielle who let us know that J.Crew is offering free shipping with promo code SHOP that has no minimums. (A sales representative gave her the code and did not mention any expiration date. Hopefully it will work for us too!) How awesome is that! Thanks again to Danielle!!! :)

  3. hi all:)

i wen to manhattan this morning to madison ave and guess what? they are having an extra 40% off their markdown items. there are new markdowns as well. a small list:
    batik turtle clea tank 49.99
    slub cotton tunic top 34.99
v neck cotton fitted tee 9.99
    flamenco dot marguerite dress 199.99

i bought two lux knit gathered tees, each are now priced at 39.99 plus the discount. online, they are still 58.00. i have honey glaze and navy. the top is wide, so i got an xs, but the short sleeves are snug, so if you're thinking about sizing down, have to consider the sleeves.

the sa told me that the 40% off began this past monday afternoon. don't know if it's just here in new york or nationwide. hope this helps:)

  4. oh and there is this knitted black cotton sweater dress that is sleeveless and i think it's a retail item only. it's now marked 99.99 plus the discount. i don't do well in sweater dresses, so i passed.

sorry for the bad grammar. have to go pick up my toddler. see you all a bit later:)

  5. woo woo, yay shopping! Yippee. Thanks Danielle!

Thanks Webby, guess I will have to head there tomorrow. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  6. No problem! I hope it works for everyone. I just tested it (threw something in my shopping bag under $50, entered the promo code SHOP, but didn't actually finish the transaction), and the shipping cost was removed. I have no idea how long it lasts, so enjoy it while you can!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I have a ton of things in my shopping cart just begging to be purchased. THANKS!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  8. thank you danielle! If I don't see the florentine sweater at the store tomorrow, I will definitely be ordering it.

    no minimums are the best!

now if only my ladybug and guava double strand flower necklace would ship. Has anyone else been having problems with jewelry actually leaving the distribution center? My cafe capris came, but both pieces of jewelry (on two separate orders) seem to be stuck for some reason.

    thanks!

  9. Damn you free shipping code making me buy things I shouldn't buy! I am ordering the overdyed cropped jean and the linen-silk beach cardigan (40% discount on top of that). Oh dearie dearie me... this is terribly bad! (and by terribly bad I mean horribly wonderful!)

  10. P.S. I got the domino skirt. The 6 was a little big in the store. I am being squeezed out of this one. Its going back! That blows it was so cute :(

But I have green pants coming my way. I hope they fit.

While I was away in Boston for grad school my doorman forgot about my obsession with Jcrew but now he remembers and has resumed his fun making. I come home and look at him, ask for the mail (we have to ask in my building because they get it for us) and he says Oh J.crew did/did not send their love today. Its a little embarrassing!

  11. webbysuzy: I just want to make sure before I call, but the b&m was giving 40% off the new markdowns that you mentioned? If yes, then I'm going to call and see if cs will honor since I was in my b&m yesterday and they don't have the size I need. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  12. blumre: You're the one who wants the metallic penelope flats, right? (Like me :P). I just wanted to make sure you know that the front color is dark gray. I thought they were black in front and back, but when I saw them in store they're not. If I remember correctly, you don't have a b&m near you, right? I still want them, but I wanted to make sure you knew they were 3 colors. :)

  13. Yes: the 45th and madison store is giving the 40% off code.

The CSR rep I spoke with gasve me BS and wouldnt let me use the shop code with the 40% off and the 15% off. she said its either the Shop code or the 15% off. Luckily I have a FS code that was a past order that they messed up on. So... I got it anyway because of my passed order. Linen-silk beahc cardigan and overdyded matchstick cropped jeans for 50 BUCKS!

This lady was nice but boy is she a stickler!

    ReplyDelete
  14. SO there jcrew FS makes me order a lot more often. GIVE IT TO ME ALWAYS and i swear I will call in EVERY OTHER DAY...

    ReplyDelete
  15. math teacher. Thanks for letting me know. I have actually alreayd tried them on in the store so I knew. But yea they are still so darn cute and comfy.

I adore that jcrew also puts all shoe sizes on display. There is always an 8 or a nine that I can just slip on somewhere in the store. I dont have to ask because every shoe out is a 5. VERY SMART JCREW

    ReplyDelete
  16. blumre: This is totally OT, but my mom and sister said to tell you, "thanks"...well, they actually said, " oh my GOD bless that woman for telling you that Tavern's food is mediocre and over priced". I guess that they just went there to placate ME!!! Gaaahhh.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Jcrew junkie - After last night. that is the funniest thing I have ever heard. I am REALLY into food. Actually, I am way more into food than I am to J Crew. My husband and I still go on dinner dates into Manhattan even though we live 70 miles away. If you are ever looking for a great restaurant when you travel to the city, let me know.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Blumre - they are sticklers in that store. My favorite J Crew is the one on 5th by Union Square. Soho and Rock Center are always such a mess, that I do not bother. I have had really great luck at the Time Warner Center store though. Seaport was always more like a suburban store.

Do you have any info on the Collection store opening? Is it on Madison. which cross street. I can not wait to see it.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Sorry to be off topic, but I was wondering if any Canadian shoppers out there have updates. I live in Toronto and used to get my orders in no time (sometimes under a week!) before the fiasco. What are the wait times now? Anyone place an order recently?

    ReplyDelete
  20. blumre: I laughed out loud (literally!) when you said VERY SMART JCREW. I was in my J.Crew recently and wandering around the store floor, admiring shoes. I'd go to try them on and realize they were 8's or 9's. I was a little confused, because (as you say) usually stores display shoes in the smaller sizes and I've always been able to slip them on before. At first, I was like "This sucks!" But looking from your point of view, I can definitely see how that's a plus. :)

Also, yesterday I talked with a great phone sales rep (Ashley). I was about to order size 7 Lucies, explaining that my other (strappy) J.Crew heels were this size. Then I told her how I wear 6's in the driving mocs and she was like "Hmmm, I think you should size down half a size." Today, in the store, I tried on size 7 pumps and they were definitely way too big. So, good call, Ashley!

  21. I used the code on a pair of 5 pocket trouser jeans earlier this evening...I called in my order...also got sale price match for the store and educator discount, as well. :)

  22. Oh, and I don't know if anyone else has seen this skirt - it's the viki skirt and it's not showing up in the online catalog, like the herringbone fiona. The viki skirt is like the belle skirt, but ties off with a bow, is less full-skirted and a bit shorter. I love it. :)

Just wanted to say that my store (Palo Alto, CA) had them on sale for $69.99, but it's unadvertised (none of the labels were marked and I didn't find out until I went to the front of the store). It didn't ring up for 40% off like the final sale items are being advertised as, but it might be because it's a new sale item or because the SA gave me the 20% in-store discount off. So I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. The original price of the viki skirt is $88, 10 more than the belle. I should really think my posts through before clicking on "publish." Sorry guys. :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Melanie, I got that same exact skirt too! I never saw it online - regular or sale - either. I love it! It is very flattering. =)

    ReplyDelete
  25. melanie and eddie&amp: Ooo I know exactly what skirt you're talking about. I love it too. It actually fits me a lot better than the belle skirt. The belle skirt poofs out on me too much. I went into my store yesterday and it wasn't on sale, but I didn't check since I just saw that the tag had no sticker. I almost bought it, but I didn't want to buy it for full price. I just might have to go back now for it.

  27. Eddie and Stretch's Mom: I'm so thrilled you said that! I love that skirt too. :) I bought it again today because I realized that I wanted it a bit slimmer, so I sized down. I bought the navy, but wish I had bought the yellow, as that sold out faster! Darn! I meant to go back to get the yellow but they ran out of my size before I could. What color did you get? And from what store?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Saf I am still waiting on two orders from July 1 and one from last week. I checked my credit card on line and they still haven't charged me so I'm sure they haven't shipped yet.

I plan to call tomorrow morning and ask if I have to fly down and pick them up. Actually I plan to push for overnight UPS.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Aly: Yes, that is what I love about that skirt, too! The belle was super puffy on me as well and when it finally became not so puffy, the waistline was practically halfway up my torso. :)

This was also the first time that I'd bought something that seemed full price and didn't realize was on sale until I went to check out. I think it was definitely a sign that I was right to buy the skirt. :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thanks! Just used the SHOP code for free shipping on a few clearance items.

Just to let others know, the EXTRA30 code would not work for me, an error message didn't come up either- nothing happened.

    ReplyDelete
  31. melanie: I got the skirt with the brushstroke rosette papaya colored print, from the Pentagon, DC store, if I remember correctly.

aly: The shape of this skirt is quite flattering. You should try it on and see if you love it. If you do and it's on full price, you can justify it by the great fit and look! If it's not on full price, even better! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  32. jcrew guy in canada, thanks a lot for your response. I really hope you get your orders soon. Given the incidents, it may indeed be easier to cue up at their warehouse in VA and hand retrieve your order ;) You have every right to ask and be granted overnight service!

    ReplyDelete
  33. jcrewjunkie: its actually kind of sad to me that your family agreed with me. It means so much for you to go there afterall, you shouldn't give that up!

Jenn_Brak: The CSR wasn't at the 45th and madision store (they are so nice there they know me and I love them for it) it was over the phone, sorry if that was unclear.

I just had a really exciting thing happen: MY BOYFRIEND SURPRISED ME WITH A $100 dollar Jcrew gift card and said lets go spend it! AHHHH! So this was after I ordered today too! Haha. I got
a pair of city fit capris in navy,
the dog beaded t-shirt (that looks like my best friend who is still missed very dearly)
    and a t shirt
    he got a polo
All for 78 bucks (that includes the full price t shirt)

The manager at the columbus circle store (a red headed lady) was so moody. I asked for the 20% off coupon card and she gave me a dirty look! Even my boyfriend commented that she was snipity.

The Columbus circle store still has the 40% off sale going on. TONS of Hammer Tanks, White rouser jeans, Florentine print skirts, couple of mini skirts, the linen-silk beach sweaters and lots of Ts and some linen sweaters (mostly bright orange though).

I have to say, I have an adorably amazing boyfriend and I am thankful that he did not buy me flowers and bought me Jcrew instead.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Blumre - Gosh you are lucky in your city and your boyfriend! Thanks for clearing that up about the store. I am not known there and have not had great success getting assistance there. Have always done better at the stores I mentioned earlier. Madison is always my last stop before going into Grand Central and heading home.

  35. jcrew guy in canada and other canadian shoppers, I just wanted to let you know I just got off the phone with cs. I spoke with some guy named James who sounded superbly bored and was not helpful at all!

I asked him if they were shipping to Canada and if things had gone back to normal, he said he had to ask his supervisor. He came back and said they were shipping to Canada. When I asked how long it would take, he couldn't give me a straight answer. I was skeptical and hung up, but I may try again tomorrow to see what another cs says.

I already feel myself getting annoyed and I haven't even ordered anything yet! I might just forget it. sigh.

  36. blumre: i bought a skirt and top just this past monday morning at madison ave and when i came home and read it here about the 20% off, i called back the store and the sa talked to the manager and she said it's no problem adjusting the 20% off price, just bring back your receipts. i managed to jot down the name of the sa and manager's name from the call. when i did come in today, i spoke with the sa and he was helpful and gave me the 20% adjustment because i re-told the story with accuracy who the sa and manager was that i spoke with. the manager today was slightly hesitant and i found out that not all sa are informed of this discount. it's at the manager's discretion. the card looks like it has a unique code and cannot be used periodically, only for one time use. i asked the manager to please extend the 20% off for several items that are full priced, but only available thru catalog. she agreed and i thanked her so much for it.

  37. Saf, I just got off the phone with Cristy and luckily she sounds much better than bored James. As it was late, 10 pm central time, shipping was closed. But .... she took down all my concerns, right now it's primarily shipping or lack of. And get this she will call me back tomorrow with information.

They just started shipping again to Canada last Friday. I am pushing for UPS. Every time I see a brown UPS truck a get excited, but they just drive on past my house.

I'll let you know what the work is after Christy's call tomorrow.

  38. Has anyone been able to get the in-store 40% over the phone? I called and got PS Alan, who said he couldn't do it. Although he did give me free shipping. I would order a ton more if I could get the 40%.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Anon: yes, I have. When you call in say what store is offering the discount. The CSR will probably call the store to confirm that it is being offered and then honnor the price. Be aware after doing that they may be sticklers and not let you use a shipping code.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thanks Blumre. Will try calling again and getting a different rep.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks again Blumre! I just called back and placed a major order - with 40% off sale items. Plus I used a free shipping code attached to a previous order! I can't wait for everything to arrive!

    ReplyDelete
  42. OH Anon: I am so glad that worked out for you! That is very exciting! :) What did you order?

When your order arrives be sure to post your review!

Also you should sign in with a name so we can know who you are!

    Congrats

  43. I am in Canada. Would they honor 40% off for all final sale items that appear in stock online if I call the order in? What should I say to get 40% off? I would appreciate your help guys. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Anon in Canada: Just say a friend in the states said they were offering 40% at a store near her/him. Ask if they could honor that price,

    ReplyDelete
  45. Blumre,
Here's the rundown of my order:

McNutt Linen pencil skirt with matching Georgia jacket - in flax

Rosette Dress in soft pewter - I'm introducing at a pageant next weekend and I hope to wear this!

    Garb skirt in dark chesnut

    Domino cropped jacket

Tie-front dress in heather sterling - I've heard rave reviews, so I had to have one

    Ruffle cardigan in soft fushia

    Brushstroke cardi in golden moss

    Serge Pencil skirt in fushia

    Citrus paisley blazer

Wool jersey shift in black - I covet the strapless I bought last season so I bought the shift for this season.

Hope to have all my items next week, so I will send my thoughts on each item.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Blumre: I noticed that you mentioned the 45th and Madison store is that where you shop? That is where I go when I am in NYC or my colleagues. We love Deb one of the SA's there - she is awesome. What a small (virtual) world.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yogichick: Yea that is a great store. I tend to hit it before I leave town on the weekends... Yea I'm pathetic!

    ReplyDelete
  48. to saf and jcrewguyincanada and anyone else north of the border - I spoke with a CS supervisor two weeks ago who said that they were working on the shipping situation still. What I was told then was that they would fedex overnight to the border but from there they had no control over the shipment. I guess the thing to do is call in the order and push for fed ex overnight that way it might take a week total to get to you. I am wanting to buy some things but not if they aren't going to get here. I guess I will just have to wait for a trip to the US - this is getting ridiculous for Canadian shoppers. I am just thankful that the CSRs I have spoken to are trying to be super helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  49. blumre: not pathetic you are lucky to have such a great shop you can hit up.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Emily:
When you get the Citrus Paisley jacket, can you tell us how it fits? (Tell me!)
I think it's really cute, but it says super fitted. Did you order your regular size or what?

    ReplyDelete
  51. emily, can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Domino Cropped Jacket! It looks adorable, but I was hesitating because it seems like a lot to pay for 'half' a jacket, but totally cute of course, hope all goes well!

jcrew guy in canada and yogichicki, thanks for keeping me posted. I really appreciate it. Bored James did not mention fedex overnight at all as even an option. How annoying that customers have to bend over backwards finding this stuff out for themselves. JCrew at the very least should put a notice on their website about the status of international shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Mekiki - I ordered a 12. I am kinda in between 10 and 12 so I hope it will fit. It's such a cute cut and I love paisley. Will post when I get it, hopefully Monday.

Saf - I have been eyeing the domino jacket since it first came out. Usually cropped jackets don't do well on me, but I just had to try it. I'll let ya know when I get it.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Thanks Emily. I just can't decide if I really want it (I do, but would I wear it?), and what size to get.

    ReplyDelete
  54. SHOP worked for free shipping today

  55. ugh I love this site. I'm a college student so I'm a bit on the cheap and lazy side. Didn't want to go to the store because I hardly ever find my size. But if I had gone, that student discount would be nice along with the 40% off.

But I called in and 15 minutes later I had bought 6 itmes with free shipping and 40% offer all for 83 and sum change. (I said I went to the store and the didnt have my size; so I decided to to just order everything online; I also used the poor college student line.) I call this a steal baby. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh btw I had called earlier and Jenifer was being mean and said the offer was only available at retail stores. But I called again and Renee assited me. She was new, I didnt mean to take advantage ;p
