Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

Dear J.Crew Aficionadas & Aficionados: Please feel free (and encouraged) to share your thoughts and opinions. :) However, please note that this is still a personal blog. So comments that are considered inappropriate (e.g. obscene, racist, homophobic, personal attacks, rude, and just plain mean) will be removed.
And now back to J.Crew! :)
Finally tried the No.6 store clogs at their Sample Sale on Elizabeth St last week. Offerings were mehhh. Mostly washed out boots and nubuck clogs. A couple of sandal style/strappy clogs were cute but the fit was not great (the back portion of the ankle strap was loose and sat far from the rear of my ankle ... while the front strap was too snug against the front of my ankle/leg?!). Now I can stop obsessing over their clogs.
ReplyDeleteAlso tried the high and low waisted jeans at Rag'NBone since it was located right there on the same street. Also not impressed. Some bloggers claim their jeans run large but for me, I'd say they were true to size. The fabric of the "High" pair I tried was thick and rough and the cut/fit was beyond mehhh (like Mom jeans normcore blahhhh). Ugggh ... Soooo disappointed.
Truly miss the old JC jeans .. the cut never failed me 😭
To cap off a week of disappointing alt-JC retailers, I ordered a pair of loafers with thick rubber soles at Paul Smith. Imagine my reaction when instead they shipped me a pair of super worn ankle boots with acuff marks on the toes and the tan leather soles were clearly worn down from use.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even try them and sent them right back. Of course, the refund amount was less than the original charge and I had to reach out to them to fix it. They then proceeded to refund me more than the order total. Which I pointed out to them and .. hopefully they finally get it right this time. Sighhhhh!
