J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. Here’s what I’ve seen so far as pages on website are still at the “oops we’ve done it”again mode. New cashmere BA400 crew neck sweaters in more of a relaxed fit. 17 colors. Not sure about the prices but they are $118.00 now instead of $98.00. A few dresses, ponchos, blouses, and an ugly denim patch pocket skirt, etc. a
Pages are still loading so I’m unable to view certain other new items at the moment. Pricing appears to be a little higher on certain items. As of now, I’m not interested in anything.

    1. Ponchos. No. I never considered that item to be "preppy."

  2. Regarding the cashmere sweater BA400, listed as fitted and under full description more of a relaxed fit. Now explain to me why the company can’t employ a proficient copywriter.

    1. @fleur de lys, unbelievable. See anything that knocked your socks off? BTW, I sent a request to follow you in IG. It’s under Monaco Yacht

    2. A small thing, but I notice it because 00 is usually my size in these days of super vanity sizing: Sizes are listed (left to right) in order of smaller to larger. Some of the more recent items show sizes 0 00 2. That would be like listing XS XXS S.

    2. The model looks like she's struggling to keep a straight face.

    3. @pbanos, you’re right she does. Perhaps it’s because the ugly mules she has on.

  4. @Miss JR, what’s Ms Libby thinking? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  5. So much of this looks sort of like Eileen Fisher to me. I realize that some do love that look, but it doesn't appeal to me. I'm more attracted to tailored clothing.

  7. Honestly, I kinda feel like J.crew is trolling me now. I want fun prints and colors and more relaxed full length chinos and less ruffles and puff sleeves and what i see is cropped wide leg pull on pants and shirts with puff sleeves and ruffles. I really miss the old days.

  8. I do like the merino ribbed sweater in olive but the extra ruffle on the collar is unnecessary. The dresses don’t appeal to me. I purchased a few items from NAP sale that I have been stalking. Their sale was further reduced this am. I prefer their app nowadays. Lots of variety and natural materials.

    1. @kikigirl saw the merino ribbed sweater too. Would have ordered it but for the ruffle. Even spent a moment thinking how to get rid of the ruffle collar …… Hoping there will also be a non ruffle collar version later on #fingerscrossed

  9. the inspiration is the Toddlers Better Clothing Dept from Best & Co circa 1954:

    smocked waists and bodices
    puffy sleeves
    wuffles
    gathered skirts
    too-sweet pastels
    flat MaryJanes
    rompers
    cute embroidery motifs

  10. @WFF, wore them all when I was a “little one”. Today I refuse to dress like a “little one.”

    1. One of the fashion stylists refers to this stuff as "kidult." The only thing I can see they've left out are the jumpers with big appliqués.

  13. Trying to wrap my head around this rollout in anticipation of fall, historically one of J Crew’s best seasons. Does anyone need a puffy sleeved coverall or a one-shoulder ruffle dress in bleached Ikat? WTAF.

  14. I echo the sentiments above. I feel like I don’t necessarily dress my specific age, but I find nothing appealing or cute about dressing like a toddler.
