This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!

Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?
34 comments:
Dear J.Crew Aficionadas & Aficionados: Please feel free (and encouraged) to share your thoughts and opinions. :) However, please note that this is still a personal blog. So comments that are considered inappropriate (e.g. obscene, racist, homophobic, personal attacks, rude, and just plain mean) will be removed.
And now back to J.Crew! :)
This morning, the Canadian website says:
ReplyDelete"We'll be upgrading the shopping experience for our international customers – coming soon!
In preparation, we will temporarily require returns to be initiated within 7 days of the original purchase...."
I don't understand how this return process works - How would I be in a position to initiate the return within 7 days of purchase? It takes me well over 7 days to actually receive the order.
Do any international customers have nay intel on these "upgrades"?
My J Crew purchasing is way way down with all the final sales and the dramatic increase in Canadian prices (6 weeks since my last order, a new record for me).
Hi Toronto Modern, I was going to mention the same thing! I don’t understand either, sometimes it takes almost a week for it to ship out then over a week for me to get it. This seems really unreasonable plus I usually let me packages sit for a couple of days.
DeleteI’d really like to know what change is coming. Prices are already higher than the exchange rate.
my orders to Vancouver take 9days. I have not ordered since the last promo...in Dec.
DeleteThat's crazy! Even US domestic orders can take more than 7 days to receive from purchase date!
DeleteI received this email yesterday from CS - whatever’s going on, it’s retroactive.
Delete“We’ll be improving the shopping experience for our international customers. In preparation, we are temporarily unable to fulfill backordered items for International orders. Because of this, we cancelled the backordered item(s) on order. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience and hope to have this item available for you in the future.”
Why am I not trusting their idea of ‘improving’ international buying?
@cagliari67, I received that email last night too. I don’t understand why, unless they’re completely changing their system. I’m pretty disappointed, as long as I can order it again soon at the price from before then fine but I’m worried that it will sell out.
DeleteI hope this change happens soon.
On Jan.26 all the remaining JCrew/Factory stores officially closed permanently in Canada (even though most had been functionally closed due to lockdowns for over a month). Two days later we start getting these emails about changes to international orders. Feels like they’d been waiting for the date where their supply-chain structures altered. Not sure what this will mean for us JCAs north of the border, but I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
DeleteI am perplexed. Either they want business from Canadian customers, or they don't. Like most Canadian customers, I will pay a premium (would prefer not to, but this is the reality of living in a smaller market). I thought that the whole Borderfree/iParcel arrangement was so that they could sell to anywhere in the world and another company would worry about the currency conversion, duties and international shipping. I don't understand what is so difficult about selling across the border.
DeleteI called to ask about the changes. They won’t say right now but I was told the changes would be good. We likely won’t be able to preorder anything for a while so I’m wondering how long until this change is complete. I asked if shipping partners or something is changing but I guess they can’t or won’t say yet.
DeleteThat’s interesting Jan - hope shipping gets faster and cheaper! In the meantime I guess we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed that it does in fact turn out to be better.
DeleteWell, it finally happened, the death of the last true J. Crew classic. The Tippi sweater is completely gone from the site. *sob*
ReplyDeletevery unhappy to learn this. They do love to fall over their own feet.
DeleteOT, but if you are a van's fan, they are running a sale with some models at 19.95 plus free shipping and returns. I grabbed some as gifts, my sneaker collection is totally topped up. Lots of sizes for guys and kids too. vans.com
ReplyDeleteAnother OT, naadam is having a big end of season sale. I am contemplating a puff sleeve wool/cashmere sweater that’s a little different but I think might be a nice addition.
ReplyDeleteHi Suz, have you shopped with this brand before? How do their sizes run? Thanks in advance.
DeleteI have not. I googled the sweater I’m interested in and two bloggers with comparable sizing to me who at at least my height show it looking comfortably sized. Not tight or short. The size chart has me at the smaller end of SMALL and that’s what I’d go with.
DeleteI know the Mom Edit has had many posts and videos about the brand as well.
Appreciate the info.
DeleteOT has anyone tried Dryell to refresh or clean cashmere in order to space out hand washing? I use it for silk shirts. Wondering if it would cause more shedding to cashmere. Thanks.
Haven’t used dryel in a long time but I’d prob just steam and spot clean. In lieu of dryel id use a dryer ball with a little lavender and put in my dryer on delicate for a few min
DeleteThat’s a great idea. Thanks.
DeleteI usually spray cashmere or wool sweaters with The Laundress wool and cashmere spray in between washings. I really like their products. There is a delicate spray that you can use on silk.
DeleteFwiw I decided to email NAADAM CS. I love a sale but it’s not a deal if the clothes don’t fit, so I asked for garment measurements.
DeleteThanks for the suggestion, Jan. Will look into the spray.
DeleteSuz, good luck. I decided to pass on their sale. I’ve been burnt too often by FS this year. The pandemic has ruined CS :(
I agree, it’s too risky. If they can give me measurements I will consider because I’ve bought one new sweater since November.
DeleteI too use the cashmere spray! It’s wonderful! Last forever and very refreshing! Also since it’s cedar protects form moth.
Deletewhen I was in 10th grade an exchange student from France told me her host family was puzzled that she hung her clothes out to air - or left them out on a chair - overnight before putting them away. She said it refreshed the clothes and made them last longer. I have found this to be true, although my late (I have an ironclad alibi) MIL found it a horrifying practice.
DeleteThank you WFF and Kate for the suggestions ❤️
DeleteSuz, I found La Ligne and everlane wool-cashmere sweaters at Rack (online) at decent prices. Ordered grey and navy. Both are returnable. 🤞🏻
My very old school mother, who sewed and took care of her clothes beautifully, aired her clothes nightly as well. I hadn't thought about this as a principle of wardrobe maintainance in years, but I tend to do it as well.
DeleteSo I did not order the sweaters but asked NAADAM CS for measurements over the weekend.
DeleteSale ended and today they’re back to full price.
If I hear back from CS I wonder if they will honor the sale price.
A situation like this would be a good time for a company to make a great first impression...or not.
Well... not. I did get measurements, which is great, but NAADAM CS will not honor yesterday’s prices. Who would spend $825 on sweaters that were $328 the day before? Not me.
Delete“I am signed up but without garment measurements It’s difficult to spend $400 on sweaters. I didn’t realize customer service only worked Mon-Fri as most other companies have support staff answering questions over the weekend when many people shop. It’s too bad, but I certainly wouldn’t consider buying them now when they were just on sale. Oh well. Too bad I missed it, but not a great first impression for a company I’ve been wanting to try, in all honesty. Because the same sweaters that were $110, 140 and 78 yesterday are not worth $275, $350 and $195 today.”
As Cheritheberry and I say, money saved.
Money saved, I agree. And sales will be back.
DeleteMoney saved, I agree. And sales will be back.
DeleteIt’s insulting.
Deletestopped in to do some returns. noticed few graphic tees that are not online right now:
ReplyDeletewhite w/green ringer with tennis graphic on front ("doubles" on back)
bright blue with white swimmer graphic
gray with blue croquet graphic
navy with red "happy" embroidered on chest
i have some stuff sitting in my online cart, but they're all basically tees to replace older tees and one pair of shorts... which, with the impending snow storm coming, aren't on the top of my "must buy now" list.
Ordered the Ribbed wool neck warmer from Madewell. I love turtlenecks over crew necks but also figured it could be worn over a mask as an added layer of protection. It’s awesome. I should have bought more as gifts.
