Any thoughts about ordering from Sezane? They have the perfect casual leopard bootie for weekends (and I think will look amazing with my new emerald cocoon coat). Would love any feedback about the brand!
ReplyDeleteI find their sizing difficult to figure out. I haven’t ordered from them because of this and luckily I live in NYC so I can go to the store and try on, but I’ve found the fit to be on the small yet wide side, so sometimes I’m two sizes bigger in one style but not another. Their pants are super narrow... my thighs couldn’t get into legs that my waist could. And even when I figured out my approximate size the store didn’t have or the website already sold out. I love the brand but I haven’t had any success buying
Deletei bought the low elsie sandals earlier this year. I'm a size 8 (euro 39) and that's what i bought at sezanne. they fit pretty well. if you have a wider foot, i'd say you're going to have issues. my foot isn't narrow, but i just make it with the width of the sandals.
DeleteImpressive new Talbots catalog arrived yesterday. Wool, tweed, natural fibers, more polished fall styles. I don’t other much from there but I do appreciate that they haven’t trashed their quality as much as J Crew and have held prices at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI love the clothes at Talbots now but the vanity sizing there is incredible. I used to be a 0 or 2 regular. Now a 0P is too big in most items. They also make their clothes very wide. If you are thin and P then Talbots won't work for you. A 0P is about a 4P in J Crew.
DeleteI also received the Talbots catalog yesterday and was impressed. The blazers remind me of J.Crew in the past. I do not care for the presentation on their website, but the catalogs look great.
DeleteThat’s good to hear. I’ve been looking for a nice tweed blazer but haven’t found anything I like. There’s a store very close to my home yet I’ve never gone inside. I’ll have to stop by and check it out.
DeleteI bought a few items this weekend at Ann Taylor Loft and I rarely ever shop there. Prices were good. Great pants in small sizes and the jewelry is more tasteful IMHO than J. Crew. I will be buying my pants there going forward. Great customer service too.
ReplyDeleteI found a few gems there in the fall and agree they are a go-to for small sizes! When you can hit a sale, the value is great. Glad to hear you did well.
DeleteI have a couple pairs of Loft jeans/cords that I like. But I find they run large, as I am wearing a 26 and am a 27 elsewhere.
DeleteLoft has some serious vanity sizing in some departments. Used to be a small in knits/tees and now have to order XXS! It's crazy. Talbots is also terrible for my figure. Most things are too short and wide and I am sized out of the pants as they start at a size 2. I love looking at the Talbots catalog. The new style guide from J Crew was so disappointing.
DeleteLoft tends to fit me wonderfully (though yes, vanity sizing), and the value is fantastic. Even though there's a lot of synthetic materials the clothes tend to hold up pretty well. I am finding Talbots more attractive in theory lately but even though I haven't tried them in person, I can tell from the catalogs that the cuts will just be terrible. I don't know what it is, but even if the item is modernly styled, it looks dated and frumpy.
DeleteI took advantage of the Brooks Brothers buy 2, get 1 free sale over the weekend to order 3 pairs of cashmere socks. I LOVE cashmere socks, but I wore out my last pair last winter and it’s difficult to find good quality cashmere socks at a reasonable price. I used a gift card to pay most of the total so they felt almost free, lol.
