This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this
post) says it best, "You know, that thing you
bought because you love it and you keep pulling it
out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please
share your J.Crew item (either that you own or
are thinking about getting) that you would love help
creating an outfit with.
Also,
please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel
free to include links to your blog (where you
incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you
showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance!
:)
Has anyone reviewed the bandana-printed Tippi? One review says it fits large, but wondering what the JCAs think? My store didn’t have any. I have Tippis in both L and XL.
ReplyDeleteI tried it on in store last week - I had read the same reviews so tried a size down as well as my usual. I found that it fit exactly the same as all my other Tippis.
DeleteI ordered my usual Tippi size and found the shoulders/arms fit but the bottom half was wider than my other Tippis. Created a trapezoid (is that the correct mathemetical figure?) kind of look. It was so loose that I decided to return despite the excellent sale price now.
DeleteThanks to all, I went ahead and ordered it in L. I don’t mind if the fit is a bit relaxed. I’m still doing NoShopApril, but couldn’t resist this at such an amazing price. Weird how it’s been discounted so deeply so quickly, while other pieces from last summer are still languishing.
DeleteI am not a tippi girl but I ordered it as well. My office is cold year round and I could use some more navy in my wardrobe. I wonder how it would look with the navy foulard easy pants I ordered sight unseen?
DeleteI tried it on in the fitting room with the elephant Marties (the only bottoms I brought in with me) and next to the pants, the navy on the Tippi looked dull.
Deletethanks eeps! I will report back.
DeleteI usually am a small in Tippis (solid colors) and took an XS in this one. Sometimes the printed ones run a little larger.
ReplyDeleteI'm irritated I didn't order the embroidered mules with the code while they were in stock.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know whether or not the Liberty Floral Symphony skirt is lined? I wrote it off before, as I thought it was overpriced for an unlined skirt, but I just want to verify that it really is unlined. I love the print and I keep reconsidering it every time it pops back in my size.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanne - yes, it's a 100% cotton skirt with a 100% cotton lining.

DeleteThanks for the responses. I actually called customer service several weeks ago to ask about this and they assured me that it was not lined, but I got the impression that the rep was just reading the product description on the website. I now have a new item to stalk. :P
DeleteI received my first 30% off sale order today with 3 popbacks of summer skirts from last year and I'm loving them all. I was telling my sister that I'm going to start wearing skirts on hot days. She expressed doubt, but I'm determined to prove her wrong, lol.
Jeanne, I saw the Liberty skirt online this morning in several sizes. I hope you were able to find the skirt in your size!!
Delete@Lauren - Unfortunately I missed it this morning, but I'm sure I'll catch it eventually.
DeleteReceived an order today.
ReplyDeleteMerino wrap top doesn't work in either size, too short, it doesn't even hit my belly button. If your short waisted/torso'd it might work.
Collection wide-leg cropped pant in Italian chino: I have this love hate relationship with wide leg cropped pants esp in this olive/army/moss, etc color, I kind of like these and they're comfortable but I also got the wide leg cotton canvas pants and thus far remarks on my IG @wearthislikethis are that those are more flattering. (In pics I def agree). Since I haven't even worn the ones that everyone likes better I'll have to return the other ones. I have enough closet regrets!
