This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.
So
if you have recently purchased,
or stopped by a J.Crew store to try
on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you
might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.
In
particular, if you could
mention a few of the noteworthy
details like fit, size, fabric, and the
like— that would be fantastic! Thanks
in advance! :)
Posted last night: wanted to try the pleated chambray pants in store, they were tucked away in a little rack and I actually had to ask where they were. I also tried the wide leg crop pant in 365 crepe.
ReplyDeleteI found the crepe pants fit well. My smaller size worked but my usual pant size didn't feel too big. They were nicely drapey. I do wish the rise was longer and looked into Tall but the rise is the same. I also didn't find the leg obnoxiously wide.
The crepe is a medium weight, I'd say ideal for everything but hot summer weather. My only nitpicky complaints: I wish the waist band was more structured/ nicely finished (or even had a couple of subtle belt loops) and there were back prockets like in the easy pant.
The chambray pants on the other hand were too stiff. They seemed to run a little smaller although the fabric would probably loosen up with wear. They stuck away from my body too much.
Really nothing else of interest. I didn't see any of the new shoes I liked online. There was a cute swimmer tee shirt but not a need.
Re: wide leg crop pant in 365 crepe
DeleteIt didn't make you look short? (this was my first concern because I think it visually shortens the model in the product photo) Is it the same fabric as the new easy pant? It does look like it drapes nicely in the other product photo. Was the rise more mid rise then not high/sits at true waist?
Anyone try the french girl pant in 365 crepe?
I have a factory coupon if anyone wants it.

DeleteStopped today to pick up Miel cashmere sweater. Fit is tts & it will layer well. The pink is bright and the cashmere felt soft. Going to wear with Ratti Hibiscus Floral print from last year and denim. Also tried two tone pointed toe Belgian loafer in black and white. I needed to size up 1/2 size. The shoe is a soft leather and felt good without a hose or sock. Still thinking about them. Nordstrom price match order arrived too. Liberty popover print is cute and fit tts. I like a loose fit in a pooover and this one is nice. It pairs with the Sarah liberty cardigan nicely. I sized up one in the cardigan based upon reviews and fit is fine. I’m going to try my normal size to compare. Two versatile options for the transition into spring.
ReplyDeleteStopped by yesterday not today.
DeleteGot the swimmers tee and I love it! Not see through and so kitschy. Will look great with the stripe midi from factory or the red stripe retail midi from last year.
ReplyDeleteI saw that tee today in person and it was really cute!
Deletereturned the “heathered flannel shirt with foil dots” because it is not flannel and not heathered.
ReplyDeleteThat shirt was a big disappointment. I also returned the one I ordered. It was a faded black shirt with yellow dots. :(
DeleteI remember having high hopes when I saw it around the holidays. But instead I got the Madewell black shirt with gold stars. I love it.
DeleteAlso returned it. All of the above, plus itchy cheap fabric.
DeleteAnyone know when spring new arrivals will be out? As in, an actual rollout?
ReplyDeleteit's usually at the end of the month so my guess is next week?
DeleteI was at a store today making some returns and picking up a couple of online orders, and they said new stuff would be out on Monday.
DeleteOh thanks, I'll keep an eye out!
DeleteGot the black wrap sweater. Cute style but absolutely requires camisole underneath. So far I'm shocked spring rollout has been so slow and small.
ReplyDeleteI got the wrap bodysuit in blue while it was on GREAT sale. LOVE it!! I have to agree that the V is low and deep but the feel and look are high points I am going to love for a long time. Saw the complaints about a shirt bodice but I thought it was ok...I am taller than average and I am no slim sistah'! I think I will enjoy this for a while.
ReplyDelete...about the short shirt bodice (and high seam)...
DeleteI received my 40% order from last week which included a 365 tee in black, the striped wrap top and the bold stripe tunic. The striped wrap top is a love - I am a 4/6 on top and ordered the small. It is a smidge short but not a dealbreaker and it'll be fine with drapey pants or suiting for work as well as jeans. I'm glad I picked this one up and it'll be even better once I get a price adjustment. Also really like the tee- I went with a medium and they do run a bit small, it's still a slim fit (I do a med in the perfect tees, small in the vintage). I have pink on order too.
ReplyDeleteUndecided about the bold stripe tunic. I'm not usually a tunic wearer but the "there's only a few left in my size" got me and I gave this a try. I need to play around with styling. I went with a 6 which seems to be good - a little loose fitting but not enough to have gone down to a 4. I thought it would be good with white jeans or shorts but it's not a work shirt. Need to think about it. I liked the jumpsuit too but know I won't get enough wear out of it.
Picked up a few sale items this morning - hoping for further % off but still good prices - a super 120s skirt in black and an ivory pom hat. Still have my eye on the white open front blazer and French girl blazer along with a few filler items to get the 40 but haven't decided they're necessary yet.
