This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent"
posts), where we can share our finds from other
retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew
(like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann
Taylor, and the like.)
If you
have recently encountered items that are similar to
J.Crew, maybe you might be
willing to share that information with us
in this post.
Please feel
free to share your story on almost any topic—
including experiences with certain merchandise pieces,
promotions/ offers, in-store visits,
transactions with store associates, etc.
Boden has new arrivals and they are absolutely lovely! I've been waiting for this rollout and saving my pennies but I'll definitely have to whittle down my list to just a few pieces. The military coat is stunning!
ReplyDeleteHi liztriden - I was coming here to say the same thing! Some very pretty, flattering pieces. It was fun to browse - won't be spring clothing weather here for a long time.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Enjoyed browsing Boden last night but I've got a long winter to get through. I'd like to try the Richmond 7/8 pants closer to spring and/or when there is a sale.
DeleteIf you're looking for a Tippi alternative, the Banana Republic merino crewneck sweater is very nice. I bought two colors, kelly green and patchwork blue. They are lovely 100% merino with full length sleeves, which I love because I'm always cold at work.
ReplyDeleteYes, I bought one of those BR merino sweaters recently and it's really nice! Fits me better than the tippi and I love the full length sleeves. I also have some of the BR sweaters with the "filpucci" italian yarn thing on the label and they have held up really well, with very minimal pilling and wash great in cold water.
DeleteI agree, Julie - the BR sweater fits me better than my Tippis. I'm always between sizes in the Tippi. The sweaters have washed up great, too.
DeleteWondering if anyone else has had this issue with Nordstrom. I bought some boots in November and they did not fit so I immediately returned them via mail. They were an online purchase. No credit given so I called them. They looked up my order and yes they had received them. So if I had never called them it appears that they were never going to credit my card. This was 6 weeks after the return! Buyer beware. Needless to say, I am not shopping at Nordstrom ever again. Is this what corporate America has come to - rip off the customer any way that you can! Enough!
ReplyDeleteHmm, that's basically the opposite of the experiences I've had with Nordstrom. Bummer! They've always done whatever they can to accommodate. I don't live near a Nordstrom, but there is a Nordstrom Rack where I live, so I return stuff in person there. I've never been a fan of mail-in returns, but sometimes it can't be helped.
DeleteI called them 6 weeks after the return and they had record of it so why did they not credit my account? No excuses at all whatsoever. No longer a fan in any way.
ReplyDeleteJust a reminder the Britt winter sale is going on; sizes are super limited, and prices are still high, imo, but they have some beautiful things. Placed my first order ever; excited to see the items in person. New Year's shopping resolution is to buy quality, not quantity, and get rid of what I don't wear.
ReplyDeleteBrora-sorry (autocorrect)
DeleteDid anyone see that The Limited is closing all of its stores? I hope this isn't a harbinger of things to come 😔
ReplyDeleteSaw that headline last week! I think other JCAs have mentioned it on a thread here and there. Macy's closures, Lynchburg store closing, ugh, it's all disconcerting. TBH, there was only one Limited store here in NYC and it was in a really out-of-the-way location. I used to shop there a lot back in college. Bummer.
