Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Yes, although sadly it will be to make a return. The stacked sequin shell lost a sequin the first time I wore it! :(

  2. I had some time to stop in a B&M this morning. Sale section is as big as ever, but back down to 40%. Random 25% and 30% signs sprinkled throughout the store. I'm liking the look of the pieces better overall, and if they do less poly than I think it will be even better. Some of the poly dresses and skirts felt already too hot for summer (we've had a string of 80+ degree days here).

  3. Jumping off the press discussion in yesterday's "Help Style Me" thread, here's a piece from Style.com with an interview with Mickey (couple of days old). He really wants to change the subject to Madewell (as in past pieces this year). And he wants to talk about the international market. Not much new ground covered, but here's the link:

    1. Thanks for the link. He mentioned a new category JCrew is launching next Spring but he can't say anything more. It's a category he's wanted to do for awhile...hmm what could it be??

  5. I have a few things to return so I might try and stop in but there's nothing I'm crazy to get in to store to try. I did get the midnight floral blouse with my rewards and am very happy with that, the colors are right in my color scheme.

This is unrelated, but in perusing the sale section I noticed there are SIX different shades of grey Tippi sweaters on sale. I just found it amusing.

    1. 6 shades of gray, what the heck? How about bringing back a true navy?

  6. well, retail returns yesterday, factory returns tomorrow. Last week the factory store was so empty one of the SAs was standing out on the sidewalk handing people cards and telling them to come in and try their luck (there was a mystery scratch&save promo going on).

  7. I did some online shopping at the Factory instead of J.Crew this week. I'll post outfit ideas for the print shorts and skirt on my blog when those arrive next week.

  8. Hi ladies! OT question -- has anyone tried washing their Scattered Floral Sequin Shell (c1172) or any similarly delicate cotton-sequin J.Crew item? I have the rustic mint color which has orangey flowers as shown on the model on the product page. The tag specifically says dry clean only, but I'd really like to hand-wash it if I can rather than dry cleaning.

I was planning to hand wash it cold, inside out, and hang dry inside out. Any thoughts? Am I playing with fire?

    1. Yes, I wash many of my "dry clean only" beaded and/or sequin tops. I put them in a mesh laundry bag and wash them with other delicates on the delicate cycle in my washer. I usually lie them flat to dry, and lightly press.

  9. I stopped in yesterday...sale was 40% off with a lot of very tired looking items hanging out in the sale section. I haven't been in to the store since the last rollout, so I wanted to see some of the newer items in person. I tried on several items - the stripe eyelet dress (too low cut for my D chest), the watercolor floral dot dress (very pretty but not worth full price to me), stripe short sleeve v-neck sweater (very cute but I'll wait for a sale), plumeria jacquard skirt (that slit is just not doing it for me).

What I did really like was the honeycomb cocoon top (but I'll wait for the first sale cut on this one). The white is not see through and it's a nice office appropriate top. I also purchased the short sleeve popover (c5097) which I love - it's a great summer alternative to a button down shirt - it's a little blousier but only has two buttons, which I really like because I don't have to worry about taping/pinning the shirt like I do with every other button down. I think it is going to look great with white or dark jeans and I am planning to wear it with a navy cotton suit this upcoming week at a work offsite. It's sold out online so I was happy to find it in store. I have the white one as well.

The SAs at my store said end of June for the third summer rollout...then it's time for fall!
