As with all their sample sales, all sales are final. The location for the event featuring Women's, Crewcuts, & Madewell is:
The following information comes from Racked NY (click here for more):
Sample sale season might be taking a breather during the week of Thanksgiving—note the absence of events on our calendar—but its second half picks right back up after the holiday with the J.Crew sample sale returning to 260 Sample Sale on December 2nd.The last paragraph echos my thoughts on the sample sale in NYC.
Once again, there's so much merchandise that the sale will take place at two of the company's locations—260 Fifth Avenue will have women's J. Crew, Madewell, and Crewcuts, while the smaller 225 Fifth Avenue will house item's from J. Crew men's.
While this sale always draws in big crowds, debate about the merchandise quality (the sale host specifies that some pieces are of "second quality") and the prices always ensue. "I feel like these prices are the exact same as the big store in my area when things go on super sale," one commenter wrote about June's sale. "This doesn't sound like it's worth the hassle."
Will you be attending this latest sample sale? If you are, please let us know! If you could also share any information (e.g. merchandise selection, quantity, prices), it would be greatly appreciated. :)
This is on my bucket list. As is a trip to the warehouse sale. Good luck to any JCAs that go.
ReplyDeleteAnyone going please email me, I cannot make it this time but would love some skirts!
ReplyDeleteI have been twice during the past year. I agree, the prices and quality are sometimes not what they should be for a sample sale. That said, I did get my hands on a coveted (at the time) Herringbone Excursion vest for $60. With the discounts floating around as of late, I doubt the prices will really be a deal, but I'm planning on going anyway. I was happy with my haul when I've gone. It is always super crowded and there is usually a line in which you have to wait a minimum of 45 minutes. With the rain in NYC today, that might deter some people.
ReplyDelete@gigisgoneshopping I've been to the Asheville warehouse sale and you can definitely get great prices there! They used to have them at my university arena when I was in college (10+ years ago) and the sales then were awesome as well. You definitely have to pick through boxes as most things are just tossed in. Worth it though for a few fun treasures.
Emily - I've read about some great deals. I can dig it (slaps knee). Some day!
DeleteI agree that the prices are not usually super exceptional, but what excites me is finding an old item that I missed out on. I went today and didn't have to wait on line outside for so long- maybe about 15 minutes. I didn't find anything for myself, but then again I'm not the kind of person who is good at shopping on crowded racks like that so if you are you may find more things. I was mainly looking for tops and most of them were priced at $40. Not a horrible price for some of the nicer stuff but as already mentioned, most of the time you can get things on sale in stores for the same or cheaper especially when theres 40% off sale going on. Don't regret going though, it's always a fun experience!

I went to a disastrous NYC J.Crew sample sale once, and I'll never go again. I stood on line outside in the freezing cold rain for over an hour. The deals were no better than an extra 50% off retail store sale, and needless to say, I left empty handed.
ReplyDeleteI've been to J.Crew warehouse sales when I was a teenager, and they were really good! I wonder if they still have these and if they're worthwhile. I remember getting swim wear for $5 each!

The clearance store prices and promos are better than the NYC warehouse sale. The warehouse prices in Arden are much better as well. Arden ain't NYC although I love NYC. I will be heading to Arden this weekend. Hope the cashmere is $35.00.
