J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  2. OT - New markdowns this morning the Majesty Peacoat in Navy to 268 + 50% off ($134 - falls off chair). I don't care that I own more coats that a woman in Northern Cali should. This, I immediately bought.

    2. Mel, I am with you on too many coats. I hope our temps drop again for a few weeks so I can pull out coats again. It's gotten much too warm, too early. Got the navy peacoat, too. :)

    3. I just ordered the navy peacoat, too! I've been waiting for a good price to justify adding it to my already overflowing coat closet. So happy.

    4. I live in the Midwest so I "justify" my massive coat collection because I am wearing a coat 2/3 of the year, but really I do not need another coat but can't resist adding one (or two) to my collection every year:) I echo the love for the majesty peacoat. I bought it in red in store for about $100 after discounts and have worn it almost every weekend since.

  4. purchased the military parka at a very decent sale size: had to size up to fit my long arms but it is very warm!! Also there's a hidden tie-in cord to tighten the waist if you need to show your figure somehow ;) Also received lady day coat and loved it! The blue color is very pretty in real life.

  5. Pardon the repeat if you already read it earlier in the weekend post. A review of the collection cafe capri in Tattersall item # 04369. I have them and they are gorgeous. Other than a pair of Minnie's they are the only Jcrew pant I purchased this season. I took my usual size 4. I would say they are true to size but there is no stretch at all. The fabric is a substantial weight not like those paper thin silk pants they keep making. 81% wool, 19% silk and lined (100% poly) The print reads a little bit different IRL. Background is black and the grid is a plaid of orangey rust and rosey rust intersecting lines. I thought the grid was all one color. They are at a great price with extra percent off if you can find your size. I had these on my lust list early on and couldn't find a single review so I made sure to order before final sale. They look nice with a black cashmere crewneck, an ivory Blythe blouse and the twisted pearl necklace. I have a linen Tippi from 2 seasons ago in a rusty brownish color that looks nice with them too. HTH!

  6. This is probably only catch-able on popback,but I will throw in my 2 cents about the Carrie Dress in the Hawaiin Sunset pattern. I got it for $18!!! And I love it!! It's got a nice cotton lining, hits above knee, but not embarassingly short, and looks super cute on. I got a sz. 4, which is mostly my JC size in tops/dresses and it fits comfortably. I can see wearing it all the time this summer.

  7. I got the Misty Fog Floral Capri Pants with the FP promo last week. They arrived on Friday and did not disappoint. The colors are much more beautiful IRL than on the website - more vibrant. They will pair well with vibrant flame/modern red, navy, and the golden olive color JC had a couple years back, which I have a Jackie shell that will be perfect. The fabric is 51% silk and 49% linen. They read as linen with a slight sheen to me. I haven't worn them yet so I'm not sure about the winkle factor. I took my usual size and the fit is good. The difference I noticed was that there is a single pleat in the front of these pants, which I don't care for but it isn't a deal breaker for me. These are a splurge right now but could very well go on sale.

    1. Thanks for the review Luxette. I really like the looks of these pants with the gray cashmere sweatshirt and hope to try them soon. Of course I'll wait for a sale since at 10 degrees today it will be awhile before I can wear!

  9. Sorry for the repeat post but I have uploaded on my Instagram account (crazyaboutjcrew) a few IRL pics of new arrivals (c'est la vie tees, merino antique floral sweater and two other tops that are not in the catalog previews). I will probably go back later today so more to come.

  10. I took advantage of the cardholder promo last week to order swimsuits for an upcoming trip. Dot underwire swing top and bikini in coastal green blue: The colors are just as vibrant as they appear online. For me, the top didn't "swing" but that might not be true for everyone. I am not particularly well-endowed so I may have sized down more than others would. I also ordered the tropical floral ruched bandeau top, bikini bottom, and board shorts. The pattern is very pretty in real life! The shorts fit the same as my regular J.Crew shorts size. The bikini bottoms for both this one and the polka dot one fit exactly the same; so I'd hazard a guess that anything labeled "bikini" will be the same size and fit. I really like the top, the feature of having removable padding seems to be newer for J.Crew and I think it's great. Budget-wise I was only planning on keeping one swimsuit but I like them both a lot!

  11. I received the Saint James Meridien II Tee in white color. For reference I am 4'11, so I ordered xxs since its a men's tee.
    Back it goes...It looks big on me, even for xxs. Only a women's Saint James would fit me.

  15. My glitter kikis arrived today and I love them. I went up a half size (like I normally do at jcrew in every show but the biella, Darby, and boots) and I think that was the right call. There is some heel slippage but an insert will handle that and in the summer time my feet will handle that! They are super cute. I got the blue.
